The Lake
Each year I take my kids to the lake. We rent a cabin, play a lot of golf, swim and do whatever we feel like. The days are great and filled with activities but the nights are a different story. I've been divorced for eight years and really haven't had time to date much. Taking care of the kids was and is my priority. During the summer the nights are usually fairly warm at the lake. The swimming area is usually pretty dark at night. Lots of times I go down to the docks of the swimming area and sit out on the end of one of them. Sometimes if I get a little daring I take some of my clothes off. I'm a fairly attractive man. I stand almost 6 feet tall and weigh a slender but athletic 190 pounds. Ingredients: * 6 Snickers candy bars (2.07 ounces each) * 3 cups sugar * 3/4 cup butter * 2/3 cup evaporated milk * 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips * 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow creme * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions: Line a 9-in. square pan with foil. Butter the foil and set pan aside. Cut candy bars into 1/2-in. slices; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, bring sugar, butter and milk to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reads 234° (soft-ball stage), about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat. Stir in chocolate chips, marshmallow creme and vanilla until smooth. Pour half into prepared pan. Sprinkle with candy bar slices. Top with remaining chocolate mixture and spread evenly. Let stand at room temperature to cool. Lift out of pan and remove foil. Cut into squares. Yield: 4 pounds (about 7 dozen).

You all are so interested in how the "new guy" did, let me just throw it all out there! First of all, since I can check tests online I already knew he was clean. Just kinda bored looking thru where someone had just left a comment. The pics were from January and I had forgotten about them. Shaylon's 5th Surgery
Prayers for my Grandson Shaylon Hi all, I usually don't ask anything of anybody. I'm asking now that you all keep my 3 year old grandson in your prayers as he's having his 8th surgery Tuesday, April 14.2009. I know as he gets older they get rougher for him and me. He was born with a cleft plate and lip and his having surgery to try and close up the rest of the roof of his mouth. Which they have tried to do 4 previous times. He had first surgery at 2 months old to pull lip together some. Made a tremendous difference. At 5 months they closed up alot of the roof of his mouth. Which didn't make much difference in outter appearance, but helped with alot with his eating and not as much coming out nose. At 9 months they did more work on lip and nose. He's looking grand. why is it so hard nowdays to find a junior who actually wants to work . put 2 juniors on at the start of the week the guy started off well monday we actually thought might have found a good 1 . tues shows up on time all good so far , morn break comes at 11 he's gone home sick only way we knew was the other junior passed message on . wed no show , we had to ring . thurs morn he rings early saying will be a little late he slept in , hour late in he comes unshowered & stinking . fri (this is the show stopper) no show in the morn , we get a call 1.45 in the arvo we ask whats going on his reply was i did say i'd be a little late (work starts at 9 ) was seeing my girlfriend but i'm still comming in just have to sign some papers at job agency .never saw him & if he shows on monday will be given the boot . the female we put on same deal first day no probs tues she had to leave early wed we find out she going on hols with the family all the next week thurs rocks up late 9.45 fri goes home si

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken This is a great streamlined chicken dish to make when you're tuckered out from all the holiday commotion. Be sure to use Japanese panko bread crumbs -- they have a bigger flake than traditional crumbs and make a crisper coating. Credit: Rori Trovato Servings: 4 Ingredients: * 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese * 1 cup panko bread crumbs * 1 teaspoon parsley * 3 tablespoons olive oil * 8 thin-sliced skinless, boneless chicken breasts Directions: In a large bowl, combine the cheese, bread crumbs and parsley. Add a generous amount of salt (or garlic salt) and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Place 1 piece of chicken at a time into the Parmesan mixture and coat with the crumbs. Add 2 to 3 chicken pieces to the pan at a time; don't crowd. Cook for about 4 minutes per side. Season with additional salt and pepper. Serve with mashed sweet potatoes if you like.

Simple Tortellini Toss Making this tempting tortellini dish is just as easy as heating up holiday leftovers. Keep it in mind for your many busy weeknights. Credit: Wen Zientek Servings: 2 Ingredients: * 1 small package tortellini * 1 tablespoon minced onion * 1 teaspoon olive oil * 1 tablespoon minced garlic * 3 plum tomatoes, diced * 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Directions: Cook the tortellini as directed on the package and drain. While the tortellini are cooking, saute the onion in the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the garlic and saute for 2 minutes more. Add the plum tomatoes and their juice to the onion mixture. Saute until the tomatoes are soft and deep red in color, about 3 to 4 minutes. Place the tortellini on individual plates. March 24, 2004 While I was unable to log-on and with the yucky weather outdoors I found myself watching TV again. Not my usual sporting event playing while I hang with YOU on the fu either ... I was 'WATCHING' shows ... something I rarely have done these last couple of years I've been enjoying downtime it's been with YOU here on the fu. And I have this old style consol TV like the type your parents had ... That was actually a piece of furniture ... that there may of had photos on, Or lined with a doily overlay even? Finished My Final Exam
I just completed my final written exam for my hypnotist certification. I am now scheduled for an oral presentation with my tutor for Thurs. April 10 @ 5 PM. As soon as I complete the oral presentation I will then be certified. I already have planned to get into a more advanced class for those who wish to quit smoking in the next few weeks. Wow... Like a lot of folks in this state I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. Crossing the border from Guatemala into Belize, the guard asked J and I if we had any fruits or vegetables. We said no. Its funny how a song can unlock doors that you thought you long ago securely locked.A few days ago I heard a song that sent my mind tumbling down a spiral hole.No, not dwelling in the past. During Operation Desert Storm, I was a legislative affairs officer for Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. Weekend Update
Im sick my son gave me his cold and I could strangle him.. he also informed me that i will be the basketball moms taxi tonight... FUCK ME! It was valentines day.. i hate valentines day Im pregnant still went to the doctor this morning found out im anemic... no wonder i was craving red meat.. Oh and of course my baby was moving so much they couldn't get a heart beat... SHOCKER I want to crawl into bed and die. Our drainage pipe stopped draining and decided to do a reverse in direction and come out the basement instead... I cant do laundry or dishes which poses a not enough maternity clothes problem.. Wtf...i'm Still Laughin
I woke up laughin @ myself this morning from the shit I did last nite..or tried to do. Let me start with saying that if any1 owns a BB, it's very hard to take a pic of yourself(my teen age daughter won't do ANYTHING, especially pics)...so my pics r from my cell, taken in a mirror. Ok, I promised a friend a would make a foot/toe salute for him, harmless enough I think. But, I wanted to be creative w/it...BIG MISTAKE!!! 1st of all, I had the bright idea of standing with my foot up by my face & the salute....are ya startin to see where this is goin? I didn't want to do it sitting or lying down as to not give any ideas of the whole "ankles by the ears" thing. Vacation Update
Ok, so this vacation thing isn't starting off that great! I was so excited and thought everything as going so smoothly, but something HAD to go wrong. About an hour from Nashville we encountered vehicle trouble. Turns out the catalytic converter went out in our van. So we had my mother come pick us up and she drove us to Nashville. Then she went all the way back home. The van was towed to a shop in Pulaski, TN. We hope it will be fixed by Monday. That will be about an extra $300 we didn't plan to spend! We plan to take a shuttle to the airport in the morning, will be renting a car in Chicago, so no worries there. Getting BACK t Pulaski to get or van will be the hard part. I really don't expect to have the funds to rent another car. So we are going to have to figure something out. I know it will be fine, I hate to ruin the rest o the trip by worrying about it, so I'm really going to try not to. Just wanted to check in here. The few months have been extremely difficult to keep up with. Death of family members. My son's developmental issues are becoming a crisis level. Specially when it comes to his aggressive behavior. Doctors have now ruled out Autism and feel he has brain damage. Some type of birth defect. Which changes EVERYTHING on how you handle a child with problems like this. I wish you could know what it is like to search a burning bedroom for trapped children, flames rolling above your head, your palms and knees burning as you crawl, the floor sagging under your weight as the kitchen below you burns. I wish you could comprehend a wife's horror at 3 in the morning as I check her husband of 40 years for a pulse and find none. I start CPR anyway, hoping to bring him back, knowing intuitively it is too late. But wanting his wife and family to know everything possible was done to try to save his life. I wish you knew the unique smell of burning insulation, the taste of soot-filled mucus, the feeling of intense heat through your turnout gear, the sound of flames crackling, the eeriness of being able to see absolutely nothing in dense smoke-sensations that I've become too familiar with. I wish you could understand how it feels to go to work in the morning after having spent most of the night, hot and soaking wet at a multiple alarm. I wish you could read my mind
