The town I grew up in, and SEVERAL surrounding areas have really stepped upin the time of need They raised a SHIT TON of money in just one day for the fallen officer's family. Relocting Idea
I've been toying with the idea of maybe moving to a warmer climate, but I actually like the winters in Ohio...and I could probably handle a colder climate. There is something about the changing of the seasons...and the smell of the woodburner when it starts to warm the workshop. I'd even consider taking a winter off from Ohio and trying out a new location. I've always wondered about states out west...Nebraska, North Dakota, even Montana. There is something idealistic about the chores on a farm/ranch and the changing of the weather. I've seen the Northern Lights, but I've been told they are incredible the closer you get to the North Pole. Alba -the Wallace Monument
The magnificent monument built to immortalize Sir William Wallace was built in 1869 on the former site of an ancient Pictish hill fort. Life....
I just wanted to appologize for not getting to say hello to everyone as often as usual. We are trying to keep up with life! lol Besides the usual....kids sick...getting ready for the hoildays.... I have been helping hubby install the tile at our local mall at night, and passing out all day. (We have about 10,000 of the 24,000 sq ft done). Not to mention hubby was in a hit and run yesterday. He is fine, and he ended up chasing down the other guy. Fortunately we live in a small town, and it was easy to find him. Of course, his little toyota extended cab had about a 2ft indentation of our Ford F150 on the passenger extended part. Not to mention 3 of his windows were blown out, and the huge wave in the roof of his truck....oh yeah, it was also driving at a weird angle. I felt kind of bad, the guy that was driving was at least 80yrs old, and seemed like he didn't really know what was going on. Hopefully he won't be allowed to drive any more, for the safety of others. Anyway

My husband is getting better with each day. Each morning you can hear the difference in his speech. He goes to the speech therapist tomorrow again and the testing should improve. He is very lucky. He is at home now and he had a brain stem stroke and he is not on a ventilator. The doctors are amazed how good he is when he had brain stem stroke. He is to have a MRA tomorrow morning, a special MRI which only looks at the blood flow in his brain and neck. He is not bad for someone that died on me while in ER. He repeats the alphabet and counts to 10 all the time is workings his letters. The difficulty is getting the words to his mouth...there is no connection, The speech therapist says he is amazed at how well he is doing for being a brain stem stroke. He is very, VERY lucky that he can walk, talk and even reason he should be dead... he is supposed to be near 100% from what the drs. are saying ... from what he is read on internet he is very lucky.

My little Honey came to me one one rainy Saturday in June when she was about four weeks old and back then she was so tiny she could fit in the palm of my hand.the minute she saw me she started to climb all over me.i fell in love with those sweet eyes that seem to be calling to me for help and i took her on the spot.I thank God ever day that she came to me.Within two hours we where at the Vet and i nearly lost my little Honey.Oh how i cried that day and it still hurts to think about it.Our Vet told us that Honey was ill-treated and that's its lucky we brought her in right away.She couldn't see, couldn't hear and her back legs where not working right but almost 10 months later and after plenty off special care and sleepless nights, Honey has finally recovered.I thank God for bringing her to me and i love her so much my little angel.Her first owner was later fined and had her animals taking away by animal welfare.My vet and i had no choice but to report her and i sleep better because i

So in january it will be my 1 yr anniversary here on fubar. Since then I've managed to make more enemies then friends so it seems. For those of you that do not know, I am a waitress. I do the job because I like it and I am very good at it. I have a college degree and have had a professional career, however, waiting tables is more my style! I have held some kind of job in the restaurant business for the past 26 years be it hostess, waitress or bartender. Now, my point... when I started waiting tables at the age of 15, the hourly rate of pay was $2.01 an hour and the average tip was 10%. I am now 41 and the rate of pay is $2.50 an hour. A Non Typical Story
This was something that I had to right when applying for a script writing project a long while back. It wasn't anything paid, it was just a project among friends mostly. Anyway, one thing I had to submit was a "romantic" piece. Okay so this is the easiest way for me to tell as many of you as possible at once... forgive my spelling in this btw. So here goes... 2 days ago I got into a bad car accident headed back to work after my lunch. I wasnt wearing a seat belt and I dont know if it did less or more damage. In short I was trying to make a left hand turn and was railed by a car who didnt see me and was tossed around in my car. So today is my birthday and it seems to be a reflection on what a huge failure my life has been.... Death In The Family
Dealing with a death in the family is not fun. My uncle died yesterday at 6:48am. He was having liver problem and what we think ealry stages of Alzhiemers(I dont know if I spelled it right). Now granted I didnt know him very well he is still Family. Well to make it worse I had to read about it on myspace in a bulletin from my cousin. After I read it I called my mom and asked her why didnt she call and my mom nor my sister knew about it. So me and my sister tried calling our cousin to find out whats going on and of course no answer. I am sad that he passed but pissed that my cousin couldnt take the time to call someone to let them know. They say death comes in 3's so know I sit here and wonder whos next. It started out to be just another normal Sunday morning with going to the grocery store and doing some errands. I just entered the store and started to walk through the produce pushing my cart not noticing too much. On the way home after a long day of work, I received a phone call from my sons teacher. She began the conversation with "Hi, this is Mrs. Baldwin, how are you?" She went on to say " I wanted to call and congratulate you on your wonderful son. Today we got the results for the FCATS, and you will be pleased to know that he did exceptionally well...." Curtis scored a high 4 on his reading, and a 5 on his math, in which he aced one particular section. The highest score possible for both is 5. Stroke Today
I just got back from vacation to the beach with my family from Grenada -- and tonight I just got a call from my Mom. I found out that my favorite Uncle - Uncle Clarence - had a stroke. I can't believe it - I just saw him two days ago at the beach... He is a vibrant man - 75 years old. It's amazing to even think that he is that "old". He's had mini-strokes in the past, but he is healthy and active. He's my mom's favorite brother and my favorite uncle. He's been there for her thru thick and thin (he was the father she never had. And on vacation... he drank me under the table! I had to laugh - I make sure that I don't accident sip HIS drink - I'd pass out (just kidding). He is paralyzed on one side and I am devastated. No Fun This Weekend
It's gonna be a busy, and work filled weekend for me. While I do get to see my daughter, and grandson, my son-in-law, and I will be spending all day both Saturday, and Sunday trying to get the garage cleaned out, and organized enough to make space to pull a car into it to be worked on. Rest In Peace Mom
It's strange that as fast as the EMTs arrived that the outcome wasn't positive. Sadly last nite at 8:10PM my mother collapsed at the dining room table. I began what CPR i knew while 911 was called. After they arrived (matter of minutes) I stepped back to let them attend to my mom. They had difficulty maintaining her pulse, transported her to the ER, and by 8:51PM my mother passed away. Donna Ray Koziol (5/9/41-3-15-09) joined her mother, father, brother, and numerous relatives in a better place. She is survived by her daughter Virginia, sons Duane and John, grandson Doug. You know I don't ask for much in this life. I just wish for my kids to grow up happy and healthy and for a little happiness for myself. Troubled Son
So, I have a 14 year old son that is just out of control. He skips school, smoking cigaretes and basically disrespectful. He is on probation for Theft III and broke his probation by skipping school and spent 4 days in juvenile hall. The day after he got out he skipped again. I have been fined $150 for him skipping. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am doing my best to raise him but he is a very angry unhappy boy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please Help! Well it's 05/08/09.... my son was arrested today for minor in possesion of tobacco and skipping school and put in juvenile hall. I really don't know what to do. I have exhausted my options with him.

there are things in life we go through and there seems to be no book or anything to help us with them. we try our best and there are things that bring us down. i guess the biggest thing is when you have kids. you try your best to raise them and teach them right from wrong. then one day it seems to blow up in your face and you just dont know what to do. it is even worse when you are deviorced and the other parent makes the other look and feel bad. i guess what i am saying is when will it get better and the one that feels bad will ever feel happy and wanted for more than being a nite thing.

Just A Little Update
Just a bit of an update from my last blog. So far there is no medications that are helping with any of the symptoms and this week I get to go to a lovely neurologist to find out why I fall and black out. More and more tests yay can't wait but who knows maybe something will finally come out of it all. Holy shit I am such a loser. I take this girl out ice skating. The problem is I havent ice skated in years. So I tie my skates on, but I tie them loosely.
