A baby boy was born one August day,
He looked so much like his father
in each and every way.
His daddy was a good man
it was plain to see
so strong and so proud
He was the best man there could be.
That little boy followed him
everywhere his daddy would go
he was just like his daddy
and it was just like his daddy
that he would grow.
One day his father went away
and didn't come back anymore
he was a soldier in the Army
who gave his life serving his country
in something they call war.
That was twenty years ago
almost to the day
that little boy grew up to be
just like his daddy,
in each and every way.
One day he joined the Army,
like his father before,
and like his father he would be called up
to fight in another war.
Like his father before him,
he would give his life
He left behind a mother , daughter
son, and wife.
He gave his life
for God and country
so in freedom others may live.
What his sacrifice meant to so many
he will never know, In The Footsteps Of His Father
he died a hero.
