My Current Living Situation Explained (for Those That Keep Asking)
I live in a studio apartment in Des Moines, WA, which is just south of Seattle. The upper part of Des Moines starting with Pac Hwy and about half a mile going down towards the water, is a place full of drugs, prostitutes, drug pushers, thieves, and what I like to describe as soulless carcasses roaming the streets. I even had a guy try to jack me of my car while I was parked at a stop light. It was some white dude, walked up to my passanger door as I tried to lock my doors and reach for my razor blade knife. Mayhemfest 08
I went to Mayhemfest Aug 10th. I had a really great review written out yesterday, but apparantly I timed out somehow, and it disappeared. And I don't have the time to knock it out again, so here is the shortened version. Highlights... Slipknot was incredible. Corey Taylor is one of the best frontmen I've ever seen, and I've seen the great David Lee Roth. I am a huge fan of percussion, and they have it in spades. The band was tight, and I'm not a huge fan of their music, but Wow! Five Finger Death Punch was super heavy, highly energized, and had a huge mosh pit, or several decent sized ones. We were up close, but had to fight our way back. I'm way too old for that shit. Airbourne was great. I had never heard of them, or if I had, I thought they were someone else. What a great party band. I Am Not Leaving

Welcome to chapter two. Humans and lies. I can't understand why people lie to one another. I know that in some cases honesty isn't always the best policy but then again if all you do is lie that isn't good either. Humans seem to think that a lie is better then telling the truth. A Soldiers Thank You...
As you all know, Im a soldier in the US Army and have little time before Im deployed to Iraq. I was talking to Pat M'Groin (and actually am right now) and I just wanted to send a thank you to everyone who supports the troops, Air, Army, Marines and Navy alike and all other components. If it wasnt for the support we get from you people of These United States of America, we wouldnt of volunteered to do what we do. We wouldnt want to risk our lives in order to be proud of ourselves and know we're appreciated by millions of other people around us. Even people that we will never meet. Numb
There comes a point in life where you just become numb. Or at least I've become numb. No longer do I enjoy sex or the chase. I've been used and abused for so long that I'm numb to it all. Maybe not all, a few people still have the power to turn me on, but they can also turn me off. I've gotten to a point where I'm numb in every aspect of my life. I don't like my job, don't like alot of my families. Second guess every move I make, ask myself is this the right thing for me and my child. So Called Friends...
I feel kind of dumb right now. And blind to the whole matter... Things were fine and dandy up until the other day when I came back from the Bahamas... I wasn't even off the cruise ship for more then 3 minutes when my boyfriend told me to find someone else... Well my so called friend had been talking to him behind my back.. She said she likes him, and according to her he likes her and loves her. I don't get that one bit how someone can say they love you then turn around and say they love your friend? Now if she were a friend she wouldn't have done this to me. He also told her that out of habit he said he loved me because he was used to it.... Computer Problems
not sure whats really been going on been having problems with my computers..so have not been on here much last few days. Plus fact , I been working alot of hours at work for bonus. I finally managed to get on ut still have some problems. My desk top.. I can get onto yahoo for a second..then flips over to a white screen saying .. done. It will not let me stay on fubar page. Thats mainly the problem with that computer..plus my screen saver isn't working. As for my laptop. The wireless part is not working..but when hook the cable from the router to it.. I can get on. My Mum
Never in a million years would you think I would be the legal guardian of anyone. Never in a million years would you think I would be the legal guardian of someone older then me. My mother went for surgery a few weeks ago, and long story short because of many different excuses they had to put it off for a week. When they finally did put the stints in (she has some blood clots in veins in her brain), every thing went fine. This was the third time she had it done. After the procedure, she started to feel dizzy and threw up. She had a very severe stroke.There was a lot of bleeding in her brain. As of Friday night, they didn't know if she was going to live. I've been back and forth to DC all weekend. As of Sunday night, they think she will live. They aren't sure, but that is what they think. hmmmm how to put this... few weeks ago i thought ok i cant get a date so ill make some changes in me...lately ive been walking 10 miles a day plus mowing my yards that i do (which is about 21 22 yards) i have cut reg soda out and am know drinking diet pepsi and it taste so good when you work up a sweat...lol i have cut way back on my meals.. i have a slim fast meal on the go bar and one snack bar.. and my supper is a healthy choice dinner... and to top it all off im drinking loads and loads of water..ive got a 52 oz bubba keg and i keep it full with water and drink it all day....i used to be able to wear a ring on my right hand well guess what i cant wear it no more it just falls off..in doing this for just 4 days know ive lost a total of 20 lbs my goal is to get to around 150... here in the comming weeks im looking into getting me a mountain bike and once i do ill be riding that 10 to 15 miles a day.... just thought id share this with ya

9-14-08 54th Entry
Ok so I've said before I was going to do pictures. I've got some of me in '06 and some with surgery time frame. This is actually going to be the hardest entry I've done yet. Granted I'm brutally honest about being fat. Obviously or I wouldn't be doing this journal. But it is easier to talk then then show because I have a massive hang up about how I look. In my mind, no picture of me looks good anymore. Yes I know its a hang up I need to get over and I will. I am working on thinking good about myself and knowing that I can be pretty and that it is ok for me to think good about myself. Baby Sister
So my baby sister is in the Army. She's a 29 yr old single mother of two precious lil boys. She's had to sign over custody of both boys to my parents because she's being shipped off to Iraq. She'll be gone for 13 months (at least) and we're hoping she comes home safe. She's a dedicated mother, a best friend a sister could have and I miss her terribly. Woman killed in Lawrence County crash Wednesday, September 24, 2008 By Daniel Malloy, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette A woman was killed when the car in which she was riding pulled out into the path of a tractor-trailer in Lawrence County last night. Northwest Regional Police Chief James Morris said Whitney Jo Maguire, 21, of Ambridge, died in the crash shortly before 7 p.m. at Routes 551 and 422 near Edinburg. The driver of the car, Shawn Geisinger, 22, of Tarentum, and Ms. Maguire's 2-year-old son were taken to a hospital for treatment. The truck driver, Daniel J. Hill, 33, of Brackenridge, was not injured. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Taser for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. My Health
Most of you know that I've been REALLY worn down and tired lately. Going to bed at 9:30 every night and just NO ENERGY! I went to the Dr. today and they're thinking it's my thyroid. I go in on Monday for a blood test and hopefully we know for sure. I also have a back problem that I'm on pills for and on new allergy pills to help with my sinus problems. SPAGHETTI SAUCE 4 lbs ground beef 1 lb pork sausage 3 large onions, diced 3 large diced sweet green peppers 1 (12-oz) can tomato paste 4 (4-oz) cans mushrooms 3 (14 1/2-oz) cans Italian tomatoes 1 (4-oz) can ripe, chopped olives 4 teaspoons salt 6 teaspoons sugar 1 tablespoon chili powder 2 tablespoons black pepper 3 cloves garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons paprika 3 tablespoons oregano 1 1/2 cups red wine 2 tablespoons olive oil Saute onions in olive oil until clear, add meat and brown. On the day of my first call as a rookie firefighter you would have been hard pressed to find a person more excited and happy about the direction his life was headed in, someone who looked forward to the days he was able to go back to the station. While I have always known that the fire service was where I belonged and I am still just a rookie the baby of my shift I never really thought about just how fast a persons decisions can change the course of many other lives. While the first fire I went on was nothing more than a small car fire caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette it was the next call that really made an impact on me. That call was for mutual aid on a major motor vehicle accident to help a neighboring department provide care to the occupants of a small car they were pinned inside. I dont know where the occupants of that small car were headed but I am sure when the three of them got in the car they never thought that that trip would end with only two of them s

Cornbread Salad
Ingredients Cornbread (prepared in an 8 in. round) Tomatoes (3-4) diced Cucumber (1-2) diced Green Onion (3-4) diced Bacon (1/4 to 1/2 lb.) fried and crumbled Ranch dressing Cheddar or Colby/Jack cheese (shredded) up to 2 cups Directions Fry bacon in skillet. Bake Cornbread. Crumble cornbread in a 9 by 13 inch pan/dish. Crumble bacon on top of it evenly. Drizzle Ranch dressing over the top. Add cucumber, tomatoes, and green onions in layers. Tuna Burgers
INGREDIENTS * 1 (6 ounce) can water-packed tuna, drained * 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce * 1/2 cup bread crumbs * 1 egg white * 1/4 teaspoon black pepper * 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic * 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce * 1 teaspoon vegetable oil DIRECTIONS 1. Combine the tuna, teriyaki sauce, bread crumbs, and egg whites in a bowl until well combined, and no large pieces of tuna remain. Season with black pepper, garlic, and hot sauce. So yeah whats the hardest things about Love, Life and everything. To me forgetting those I've known and I mean not just girls. I was army brat for the first 10 years of my life so there not many I remember from then. But the people I knew in Colorado that I dont even talk to anymore and those that I do its so different Now. I do so miss the times I shared with those that I loved the memories are still fresh in my head they haunt me to the point of insanity. Maybe thats one of the things thats wrong with me now. Not being able to just forget. As much as I miss those days I sometimes am in so much pain. The loneliness is unbearable. I trust no one any more. Those little pedi paw thingies are great! Those are the little motorized files for your pets claws... after my dogs realized i wasn't gonna hurt them with the little thing they didn't seem to mind it so much it isn't as fast as cutting with clippers but it makes it look neater... is a bit messy with the nail dust flying around though...

Today is Veterans Day. A day set aside to take the time to honor the patriotism, courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. For all those past and present who dedicate their lives defending the freedoms of our country. I'm not sure exactly how to express my gratitude to these selfless men and women. Monthly for the last 23 months I have sent off and brought home plane after plane of soldiers returning from overseas. Yet I still don't know how to properly say thank you. When a plane deploys the soldiers walk in single file line thru a line of cheering USO and Red Cross volunteers. At the end of the line are two American flags. I recently saw a soldier walk past the flag turn around come back and kiss the flag. This happened to be the same soldier who had earlier in the day told me he didn't mind going overseas. I love that excitement I get when I'm researching and inventing a new recipe. It's very similar to "I've read your work and I think you're brilliant" or "that poem really spoke to me". Have you ever noticed that women say "All I want is a man that will love me and treat me with respect" and then they turn down guys that are too old, too ugly, too fat, too skinny, too whatever? By far my smallest role but i am on the top right hand corner of the back of the box, baby! Last winter my Husband Joe (then Fiance) and i acted in a small scene for my dear friend Dr. Squid which he was directing for Into The Woods. Wet Moon
Volume 4 of Ross Campbell's 'Wet Moon' came out this month. I love this book to death. A real slow burn, especially with the long lag between volumes, but it's such a grower. Pretty much an essential book now. And the artwork is brilliant. Basically the trials and tribulations of a group of female students in the Florida town of Wet Moon, it's got a great feel for the alternative undergound scene, and when it's funny, it's actually funny. If you like comics and shit like that, and not just men in tights doing a fight, check it out.

Thanksgiving
I must say this has been the best thanksgiving I can remember in a loooong time. Things were much as they used to be, most all of the family gathered at the homeplace where my uncle still lives, we ate and ate... It was good that everybody came in, Eric and Amy brought Parker who is getting so big now, and cutting her first teeth. Becca made it in for a couple of hours, not long but it was so good to see her. She hadnt been in since July and was happy to be here even for a short while. Josh and kendra made it in also, they are still touring and ministering all over and very excited that a new album is in the works for the group, I am so happy for them all. Momma cooked alot of the meal and Danny cooked the turkey and it actually tasted pretty good..LOL. He and I had to come home and get the country ham cause we forgot it. We had so much food it will give us leftovers for a week, I still got a bellyache..

Difficult Week Ahead...

Marinated Grilled Shrimp
INGREDIENTS * 3 cloves garlic, minced * 1/3 cup olive oil * 1/4 cup tomato sauce * 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar * 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper * 2 pounds fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined * skewers DIRECTIONS 1. In a large bowl, stir together the garlic, olive oil, tomato sauce, and red wine vinegar. Season with basil, salt, and cayenne pepper. Add shrimp to the bowl, and stir until evenly coated. Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, stirring once or twice. 2. Preheat grill for medium heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers, piercing once near the tail and once near the head. Discard marinade. 3. Lightly oil grill grate. Cook shrimp on preheated grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until opaque.

Ingredients: * 3 tablespoons butter, divided * 3 tablespoons bread crumbs * 1 garlic clove, minced * 1/2 teaspoon dill weed * 1/2 cup sliced almonds * 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese * 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces * 1 tablespoon lemon juice Directions: In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Stir in bread crumbs, garlic and dill; saute until crumbs are golden brown. Remove from heat; stir in the almonds and cheese. Set aside. Cook asparagus in a small amount of water until crisp-tender. Drain; heat with remaining butter. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Spoon asparagus into a serving dish and top with the reserved crumb mixture. Yield: 4-6 servings.

Well, if you read my last blog, you knew that I was having a hard time with feelings for someone that didn't seem to have enough time. Well, as the days change, I at least found out his true colors. He is a liar and I really should have listened to my gut in the first place. I am much happier now that I do not have that doubt hanging over me. I hope that they are happy together. I hope the karma bug bites him twice as hard. Maybe that is the wrong way to be around Christmas time, however, right now, I just can't send any "good will" his way. I am however, extremely glad I saw his true colors before it was too late. At least, I partially got out of having my heart broken, again. Good riddance to you. It is a damn shame, because you not only lost someone that cared deeply about you, but, you lost a damn good friend too.

Stuff I Need (or, Why My Computer's Pissing Me Off)...
So, I just basically spent more money on computer stuff than I have in a long time, and than I probably should in the first place. And I didn't even spend that much! Bought a new Seagate 1TB SATA drive to replace the 250GB PATA drive that was giving me issues (allegedly--it had bad blocks)... Bought a new CoolerMaster CM690 case (not bad for $80, highly recommend it, loads of cool stuff!) so that my drives won't get to 55C (that's 131F, fuck!), and bought another fan to help with cooling (four case fans in all right now). However, I'm still not seeing it run as fast as it should... I know I need to replace this shitty little 430watt Raidmax PSU with something better soon, but I doubt that's a major issue. No, I think that right now is the memory... I've got four sticks of RAM in there right now, two are 512MB sticks at PC2700 speeds... There's a 512MB PC3200, and a 256MB PC2700 or something... And I'm pretty sure that at least one of those sticks are slightly bad... S

What It Means To Me...
Hey, this is what this inauguration means to me... Change that is real... Inclusion, I have ALS, it is so good to be included as a person who has a disability... Barack Obama seems to be truly sincere, that means a lot to me... Hope, it is a hope that he will lift the ban on fetal stem cells, so i can be treated, where there is no treatment for ALS now in the US... and this treatment is my only hope for recovery... I would love to fly to DC, to be a part of this historic event, in my power chair, the day the people got their government back...
