Growing Old Gracefully
There's a mole on my neck that's growing a hair When I was younger it wasn't there A lot of things changed since I've grown older like my fallen arches and this hump on my shoulder Yesterday I noticed a twitch in one eye and spots on my hand that resemble a fly I used to be able to party all night but now to stay awake until five is a fight My breasts used to be firm and quite pert Now I have to be careful they don't drag in the dirt Gravity surely has taken its toll What was once on the surface is now in a hole The backs of my arms are wobbly like jelly and I found the remote tucked under my belly I used to eat steak but now I can't chew it Growing old gracefully. Eat Lead World!
Ok so I've come to a crossroads in my life with many separate paths leading off from here. I went and looked at a stereo school in Houston today. It's a 12 week program covering everything from the basics of Watts' and Ohms' laws(yeah when you get certified you have to know how it all ties together) to speakerbox design to working with fiberglass and metals. And that's just the first 4 weeks! The next four get more in depth with alot more hands on design and build. The third 4 cover custom interior and sewing(building seats, working with all types of materials, custom dash and lighting). Overall the program sounds really good to me but I'm not sure whether I want to give up on trying to get back to college or not. I've been trying(though sometimes not very hard) for the last year to get a job but nothing seems to be turning up. Fall Pecan Trees
If you have never been in the country, or in an area where old, tall Pecan trees are in late October, you truly have missed an amazing phenomenon. In late October, Pecan trees start dropping thier pecans. And if the tree is very old, and tall like the ones around our house, as the pecan hulls crack open and drop the pecans, they hit tiny branches, leaves and other pecans as they come down. The sound can only be described as the sound of trees on fire. If you close your eyes you would swear what you hear is the popping and crackling of a large bonfire of fireplace. Especially when the crows and blackbirds come to roost in the pecan trees they speed the process of the pecans falling. You can look at the tree and swear it is on fire from the noise you hear, but there's no fire. The intense 'trees on fire' noise you hear only lasts for a few days because after a majority of the pecans are dropped, the nise lessens and the few individual pecans that fall throughout November are not eno

My mom just stopped. I told her how I felt like shit today, fell down the steps, then had a tooth puttled. Then she starts to tell me how I should go see some sort of debt consolidation type place. I was sitting there shaking my head. She says.. why you shaking your head.. I said because I'm not doing it. She says why not.. I say because they'll want me to keep track of every little penny I spend for the next 3 months to come up with some sort of budget. She says yeah? So? I said I'm not doing it.. I don't have the patience to deal with it. She starts going on.. I said mom .. I'm NOT in the mood.. and shit escalated from there and BLAAAAAAAAAAM .. she left after I told her to just go home! Health Update
I currently have pneumonia, it started with a cold a week ago when I got back from London. I was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night straight after seeing my doctor. Luckily for me the antibiotics that they administered to me via a drip worked quickly. Within hours I was moved to a different bed and by Friday I was staying on my third different ward. I could hardly say that I enjoyed my time but at least I only had to stay three nights in hospital. I had been told that I would probably have to wait until Monday to be allowed to go home. Our hospitals only seem to work five days a week! My consultant on Friday morning had stated that I could probably be able to go home on Saturday if I was able to improve using oral antibiotics. On Saturday morning I was feeling much better and I managed to get permission to go home. I will see my local doctor in the next couple of days. I have antibiotics to take for another four days. I have been told to expect to take a couple of

You know, I was reading some articles about how Black people and so-called Black leaders are not supporting Obama. I don't really support him, but Blacks in general are overwhelmingly Democrats. I have the sneaking suspicion that the problem is this; if a Black president were to be elected, it would show how far this country has actually come, and that this would negate the victim status that Black people often use to excuse the myriad problems that plague us, as well as put leaders who constantly foster the victim mentality out of a job. Wow, looking back I can't believe I've been here on Fubar a year now(well technically it's tomorrow Dec. 2nd). It's been a crazy year. A lot of ups and downs, amongst learning experiences. I survived though and i'm thankful I did. There were many times I thought about deleting my account to have some of the many wonderful friends i've met, come to me and tell me how much i've meant to them and how much they appreciated me. I recently started watching poetry slams on the net, and what I find so great about them is that they are bringing poetry back to its roots of being an oral tradition. Most poetry other than slam has been relegated to dusty shelves and the only people who could get an audience were those who either knew someone or who were born into privilege. Not so with slams! Hey everyone, It's that time of year again, time to get Bald!! For those of you who have known me a couple of years, this is old hat, but for my new "friends," or for others who may be hearing of this for the first time, here goes. Every year, around St. Patrick's Day, I participate in an event called St. Baldrick's Day, wherein otherwise normal people shave their heads in an act of Solidarity with children who have cancer. The unique thing about this event is that ALL money raised goes to research of various kinds of CHILDHOOD cancer, and ONLY childhood cancer. This will be my seventh year participating in this event, making me (I believe) the only Shavee to lose his locks every year we have had an event in Pittsburgh, PA. So far, through the first 6 year, I have raised around $7000, and would like to better me yearly average this year. You may ask why I do this, and so I will tell. I got back from lunch a couple minutes ago... always end up having late lunches but this one turned into a meeting. I was looking out my window and noticed how the sun is shining, and the shadows are so different. I mentioned while we were walking back from lunch how hot the sun felt, but it is still that 'not summer' sun. The shadows look lower, colder... the sun doesn't have that bright-eyed, bushy-tailed way about it anymore. That means it's too close to autumn for comfort. I like the fall for the pretty colors and harvest time and Halloween but ugh... it gets cold and wet and rainy. I can't like that. Life Changes
The past two days I have learned to never take anything for granted. We take our health, family and friends for granted everyday. When life takes a turn we are shocked at how something could intrude on our normal everyday existance. My father was being treated for high potassium which caused leg tremors/spams. Tuesday he had a seizure from it which resulted in an emergency room visit and then a various scans. These led to brain cancer, and then lung cancer alas cancer in the adrenal gland. He still has not had a biopsy, but the Dr's mentioned stage 4 cancer. The cancer in his brain is about thesize of a quarter and they say it is new and has been there about three weeks. They are unable to do any types of surgery because they are afraid of clotting and immediate death. His cancer is aggressive. I am not ready to lose my dad. I am thankful that I have been able to make him feel special on many occasions during his life, that I told him I loved him after almost all telephone conversation

I finally got off my ass and got my GED (good enough diploma, haha), which I happened to score super high on. I scored higher than like 90% of all who have taken it. Which isn't bad! I went in a week before the test and took an assessment and I only missed one question :). I scored the highest you can, so they told me not to take classes and to just come back for the test. That was pretty nifty, but it made me feel uneasy. I hadn't taken ANY sort of test in over 2 years? And to top everything off I was nervous as hell, so nervous that I'm surprised I remembered what 1+1 was, haha. Movie Reviews - Whats On Dvd
Family Guy The Freakin' Sweet Collection Or Seth MacFalnae's Top 5 Family Guy Epsiodes If you want some time kill with a laugh and enjoy political and religous satire in a big way then you need this dvd. While I have watched most of the family guy episodes on TV this collection was actually had a couple I did not remember. However I will review each of the 5 different episodes from dvd below. Episode 1 - When you wish upon a weinstein Pretty decent content that will give you a good laugh. This show featured out takes on Judasim and Jewish people in general. If you get offended easily about Jewish stereotypes then don't watch it. A pretty good mix of sarcastic one liners. Part of the smoking ban in ohio will fine the person caught smoking in their own car for every non-smoker in the car when they get pulled over! Now this part is completely retarded! This is basically giving the police a "blank check" to pull over anyone they want for nothing more than to see if anyone in the car is smoking! This isn't the only bad part, they want it furthered to include your house as well! As of 12:00am on December, 7 2006 Ohio offically became a smoke-free state. Being in that no public buildings (exceptions for smoke shops, cigar lounges, nursing homes, VFW's and private clubs)could allow smoking within 50 feet of the main entrance. I for one smoke and feel as though my rights have been violated upon. First off, I for one have no problem going outside for a cigarette. You may have a disagreement or even agree to disagree but no argument. When a person raises their voice, they are telling you that they feel powerless and want power over you! That way they can feel better about themselves. If you react and raise your voice in kind....dud... game over, you just gave them your power. Well, my trip home is all done. Back in westminster safe which is a good thing. The time I spent home was priceless. My friends were so excited to see and hang out. Dee started to cry and it made me happy to know that I truely have the best friends in the world. I can't wait until I get to go home for the next visit. Sometimes you just feel like time as flown by. That is how I feel right now, my best heather and I planned my trip home around thanksgiving time and now it is here. I just found out that a very close family friend has passed away. She had a heart attack in her home last night. Mary lived a very hard life. Ok it is getting closer and closer to my last day of school. I can't believe I am almost to the very end. Recently I have had an individual, after months of not hearing a word from them, pop up & ask where have I been. I didn't say that I had removed them from my friends list a month ago because I could never get a response when I wrote. This brings up a point I feel needs to be addressed. You know I started this whole social networking like most of you did at myspace. I got the codes and hooked my page up. Daytona
So, I went to Daytona Beach yesterday. It's not too far, about an hour and a half drive. Got out there and made a bee line for the beach. I live for the beach. No matter what problems I may have in my life, the beach makes them all go away. I had alot of thinking I needed to do, and I did it. I refuse to let anyone get me down like I let my ex do. I don't even know why I let myself get so wrapped into him. He wasn't worth it, BUT ANYWAYS. lol Laid on the beach, entirely too long so the backs of my legs are killing me today. My daughter wanted to go to the water park today. The sun is the last thing I want to see today. lol I wish children could understand the pain we save them by coating them in SPF 50. lol Went to our friends hotel that they were staying in and went swimming in the pool. They had a tiki bar there and the bartender was awesome. She made us these huge drinks in little Malibu buckets, with 5 kinds of Malibu in them and 3 or 4 kinds of juice. They were awesome.
