Brevard County Fires In My Community
Hey all! I just wanted to let everyone know that I am sorry for not being around lately. Ever since Sunday evening, my community has been hit hard by brush fires that have erupted and many homes as well as damaged others while desecrating much land and natural environments. Not only have people been affected, but wildlife as well and I have spent the past several days collecting much needed donations for those affected and in shelters since they lost everything, thanks to dry conditions and the ill actions of a suspect being held in custody. Arson seems to be the culprit of the chaos and it behooves me to even contemplate the actions, let alone the consequences of spite. No matter how hard things seem to get, I have this (no pun intended) burning desire to help those less fortunate than I - for it gives me purpose and reason, as well as brings me back to the basics and essentials of respect and honor for the gift of life. Feeling Emo
I dont know what my problem is this morning! I am going back home possible tomorrow but for sure by sunday. I should be totally excited to go home and see my fam and friends. I mean part of me is but other parts aren't. Going home has its up and downs. There things I have to face (like my father) that I don't want too. I have only seen him once in the past year. My Dad
My dad has had alot of problems for years,he has trouble swallowing food, liquid, anything, he has lost alot of weight. Recently he went to the Dr. because he had a knot on his neck, they took a biopsy and come back cancer, he has advanced stage 4 lung cancer, and is expected to live 6-8 months. The cancer has spread through out his body, it is eating away at the bone of his shoulder so they might have to amputate it. I seen him yesterday and he looks terrible, from where they took the biopsy his face and neck is swollen hardly recognized him. He know has another growth on the other side of his neck.the knot on his neck is pressing against his jugular if he turns the wrong way it cuts the blood flow to his brain... I will keep you updated when I can, I probably won't be on much... Please keep us in your prayers...

Just Want To Say Sorry
i want to say sorry to eveyone for not being here much and that i really feel bad for not showing love back. I have some things going on here at home and am having a hard time dealing with it I was told a bit back that my girls father has lung cancer and had 8 months to live . it is now 9 months and the cancer travled to his brain and then to his spine . so it is not good at all. i have been off a lot so i can be there for my girls who dont understand why there dad . i think this hurts me more for them being he really has not helped much with their growing up. it hurts my heart everytime i get another call with more info. i will be on here and there till my girls can handle this and i know it will be a hard thing for a long time but each day gets better for them . i also have my girl jessica here for a bit to visit me from NY where she had moved back last year for school , i am happy to see her and want to spend time with here till she goes back home . Feelings.. Nothing More Than Feelings..
So sitting here thinking what I can do to make myself feel better. Realizing what makes me happiest is to make a difference to someone else. It could be the smallest thing, a smile, a laugh, a joke. It's all the sweeter reward, when it's someone who is down and you can really tell their day has been lifted. When working I had a habit of waving to 15-25 people every morning, and guess what.. they got in the habit of waving back and smiling. That along with an individual hello/good morning to each child as they walked on the bus. Middle schoolers had a habit of just looking at me like I was crazy or walking by with their Ipods secure in their ears, seemingly oblivious. I would still get a nod and smile from a handful and a couple with heartfelt return greetings. My elementary students were similar in a sense but the younger ones would really brighten up with a greeting. A few even would give me a hug as they entered the bus, even though I was unable to return the hug, company p

Progress...
Ok heres an update on how my grandmother is doing from my last blog (hell my only blog for that matter). My grandmother made it through surgery alright. They completed the triple bypass without any complications. When I left the hospital to come home for a lil bit she was showing good signs that she knows what is goin on around her (this is important cuz they are fearful she could have a stroke after having an operation like this). They said she seems to be breathing without the benefit of the respirator but she has to keep that in her until she can take deep breathes. Other then that its pretty much just a wait and see for the next day or so to see how she pulls through it all. We are hopeful to get her out of ICU by tomorrow but that all just depends on her really. The difficult part about her being in the ICU unit is the fact that the family only gets to go back there during certain designated times and only 2 ppl are allowed back at a time. What To Do
So I went to the grocery store yesterday before work. As I'm trying to leave, this beautiful black lab puppy dog runs to me and my truck and passes out underneath it. Looks dead tired, starving, everything. Jack asses keep driving by, pointing, laughing, not realizing its not my dog and that I needed help lol. So one car finally stops and we get it out. There's something weird that I do... I haven't always done this although it has been going on several years now. I just can't decide if it's "dude, wtf?" weird or if it's just slightly eyebrow-raisingly odd. Yay, the suburb I work at was in the news! On a more serious note tho, yesterday a woman was stabbed to death at a hotel next to the one I work at. Throat Cancer
I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago because I have not been feeling good and lost my voice. Well doctor first thought I had strep throat again so he ran some tests and didnt like them so I did more tests and found a tumor around the voice box and throat. So last thursday I went in to surgury to have the tumor and tonsils removed. I have to go back in 2 weeks to see if I have to chemo or radiation. I am very sore and tired. Amazing What One Pissed Off Woman Can Do
the saga continues ... Arrived at work today to see that there is still a homeless camp set up across my mall parking lot. After the events of yesterday and trying to get action on this issue for some time now I pretty much became a woman on a mission and decided enough is enough. Marched down to the Salvation Army office who IMO is the main reason we have this issue in our mall and that the actions they take can eliminate the issue if they so choose ( planning on mumming that one ) I demanded and organized a mall meeting for tomorrow 9 am. Please, I Need Some Help
Ashley's back in the hospital one of her incisions got infected, she has a staff infection. For those of you who didn't know, my daughter Ashley has lupus. She had surgery on July 30th to remove her gallbladder because of infection & large gallstones, a liver biopsy was also done. Complications kept her hospitalized a week longer then expected. She was doing better after being released but 1 of the 5 incisions wasn't healing. The incision in her bellybutton was red & warm she also had a slight fever. She's back at Children's Hospital with a staff infection, she was taken out of I.C.U today. Thank-you for keeping her in your thoughts & prayers. ****Noon Update GREAT news Dad's MRI came back with no signs of a Stroke and no Tumors. He had to have 2 pints of blood and 2 bags of Iron. They tested his blood and all is well and after his 3rd and final bag of Iron he will get to go HOME! UPDATES (JAYDEN) 9/1/08- Jayden is almost one and doing soo great! She is the best baby ever!!! she hardly ever cries and always sleeps thru the night. Up untill she was about 6 months we had a problem with reflux, but she has grown out of it. she has 2 teeth on the bottom and has started walking. shes still wobbley, but can take about 10 steps before either sitting or falling. Good afternoon everyone just stopping in to catch up a bit. This has been a long week and thank god I have the next 3 days off to get things done a bit. One thing will be to update the new Fubars Trains Tags Depot page. For now just been leaving the addys in the comments to get things started but by the end of the weekend it should look like the main page with eaiser links to take you straight to the pages. Also I'll have the main list updated for you there have been tons of new trains this week to check out. With some really cool tags to go with them. One thing I noticed I had a few this week that tried to enter peoples trains as a more then one at once. This is cheating in my eyes. Each train is individual you must do one at a time when you leave comments it's not 2 or 3 different trains for one. Dont work that way all of the rest of us riders have taken the time and energy to do each train that were on theres no short cuts for us and theres shouldn't be for anyone new that happens

Doctor
Went to the doctor yesterday. Had some blood work done plus some other tests. Apparently something might be wrong with my liver, among other things. This is the main reason why I've been upset all week. Plus being sick hasn't made things any easier. And this morning, I've been coughing up blood. It's all a bit scary. So, for those of you that are religious, pray for me? And for those who aren't, keep your fingers crossed. I'm not gonna lie, I'm really scared. I've never been this terrified in my life. The doctor gave me some medicine. And today we're calling about getting some others as well. I'll be the drug queen. Haha. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and! you p

Poutine!!!!!!
Poutine (pronounced putsɪn) makes 4 side servings or 2 main servings 4 large russet potatoes oil for deep frying salt 2 cups beef stock 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup flour 1 1/2 cups cheese curds 1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thick fries (at least 1 cm thick). 2. Soak the potatoes in ice water for about 30 minutes. Remove and drain well. 3. Heat oil for frying to about 325F and deep fry potatoes for about 8 minutes. 4. Remove from oil and set on paper towel. Turn the oil up to 375F. 5. In a saucepan melt the butter and stir in the flour. Add the beef broth and stir over medium-high heat until thickened. Reduce heat and keep hot. (I use a tiny bit of gravy browning to get that nice dark colour). 6. Return the french fries to the oil and continue frying until golden and crispy. This should take about 5 more minutes. Ok I Get It
Ok I get it this whole Auto-11 is a totally good idea because it does have it's benefits yea you get to move up in levels faster along wit gaining points and more fubucks which is awesome but there is a downside to it too...I've noticed alot of people who have the auto-11 are begging and asking for help but how many of them are actually doing anything to help themself? Being the first post in this new Blog, I figured I introduce myself...Doug (some of you already know that though :P) This Blog is about things that I enjoy immensely as they bring emotion to me in some form, and feel the need to compile them for your pleasure as well. This is perhaps one the most emotional songs/movie scenes I've been able to enjoy. I love Platoon, and think it brought us several great actors, all while telling a story that you don't often see. That of the one through the eyes of the soldier them self. The piece played along with it, seems to capture this emotion for me. Lil Update :)
Went to the bone specialist today, got my stitches out, everything looked good on my arm he said, only thing that wasnt was my xrays, still have a big gap between my bone, only thing holding it together is the plate and 6 screws that are drilled into my bone, go back to him Nov 24th, hes gonna see if my bone stimulator works, if not we have talked about the next step, which is for him to go back in (surgery) remove all the hardware, use a bone substance to fill in the gap between my bone (I broke my largest bone, the humurous)I pray the stimulator works, but at the same time I want this hardware out, hurts alot. Seems like I havent fully grieved over losing my mom, with all this going on with my arm, so crazy to think the 15th of this month she has been gone 4 months already :( please keep my family and myself in ur thoughts and prayers, tysm xox

Injury Update
So... I met with the surgeon today. Good News: I don't need surgery. Bad News: I have permanent damage to the underside of my knee cap that apparently can't be fixed with a surgery. I'm not in the greatest mood because I found out (at the age of 26) that I will never be 100% again because of an unnecessary injury suffered in a meaningless soccer game. This news is quite unsettling to me. I'm having a difficult time handling it. Sorry if I'm not too talkative for a bit... but I thought I should let you all know about my news. Thank you.

Going Out
So tonight me, hubbs, and our friend went out to see his guitar teacher's band at a bar, and it happened to be a Halloween party there. I am NOT a very social person (hah, shocka), and large groups of ppl downright freak me out. But alcohol has always made me loosen up a lil. And now ever since I stopped drinking altogether, it just sucks going to bars. There are different levels of communication on a scale of sobriety, and it can only work if all parties are equally drunk/sober. I felt totally like a fish out of water among all those strangers, and I'm not a kinda person to strike up a conversation, especially if I am really not interested in a person. I have been hosting a contest for the FuBombers on my page for a while, the contestants are drmami and sith lord morte. I had left the fubomber for medical reasons and had hoped to come back. However, circumstances that were not in my control had stopped that from happening. Many of you know, I went into the hospital. I guess while I was in there, my husband, being the little go getter that he is, decided to make me a co-owner of another family, and he sent out a mass email from that familys lounge to all of its members. Why I Have No Salute
Since I have been asked a few times I feel I should post the answer here..its a lot easier my pics are about 2 years old..I don't have any newer ones since then.. the reason being I had a very bad experience with a stalker. One that ended up with her (yes it was an older lady) in jail and me..well I ended up trapped in my car in a ditch after she ran me off the road. My wife got a nice heavy cloth American flag, and brought it with her when was deployed to Iraq. She kept it folded up in her rucksack so that it would go everywhere she went, and then at the end of her deployment, all her buddies signed it. So that's definitely a treasured memento of hers. About The Group November 17th
All i can say is w0w!!! We as a brand new girl group have really been accepted with open arms to the fu-community!! Fender Benders And 26' Xmas Trees!
Hello People :D My day yesterday was quite entertaining, to say the least. I was on my way to the job site and BAM... I get rear ended by a Jetta. Good News & Bad News
The bad news: there is definitely something invading my entire ductal system. The mammograms showed fairly extensive calcifications that were not present a few weeks ago. The ultrasound showed the area that was biopsied before was much larger, and there are several more areas as well as what looked like an entire duct affected. The good news is my lymph nodes look normal in the ultrasound. I should have the pathology results back on Friday to see if it's cancer for certain... but it's pretty likely.

Though it would probably attract more attention. Anyways, I have the flu and it's icky and it would really really make me feel so much better if I could have more salutes made for me. Two days ago my family was gathered at the hospital,they had taken my dad off the ventilator but, he couldn't breath on his own.They put him back on it and read him his last rights. My mom had almost given up she just didn't know what to do but us kids said don't give up yet. My mom has been staying at my house threw all this. It was a long night and for me and mom pretty much a sleepless night.We were driving to the hospital early Tues morning when my sister call my mom from the hospital,my dad was off the ventilator, sitting up in bed and talking to my sister. Although he was not making a lot of sense he was breathing on his own. Only 10 hours earlier he had been given last rights.Today they moved him to CCU into his own room and has a lot of the tubes out of him.
