Duty Calls
I just thought I would let you all know that I will not be around for about a week. I wished I had a new laptop computer so I can continue to keep in touch with you all. I will be away on duty with my unit. For those who do not know, I am a reservist in the U.S. Coast Guard. I will be in Corpus Christi for a week and I do hope I hear from each and every one of you. Please take care and I hope all goes well for those who take the time to read this. You have my deepest thoughts. Pete

The Netherlands
The Dutch interior minister wants police officials to stop using soft drugs when they are off-duty as it tarnishes the image of the force. The use of some soft drugs is tolerated in the Netherlands and the sale of cannabis in small quantities for recreational use is permitted in government-regulated coffee shops. "The minister does not want police officials to use soft drugs, such as cannabis, not even during their spare time. It does not fit with the presentation of the police to the public," a spokesman said Thursday. There are 25 regional police forces in the Netherlands, some of which have implemented a no-drugs policy for off-duty officers while others have not, he said. "We should have one rule for the whole force," he said.

Why?

It is a sad day in the world of dirt track racing today as we say goodbye to another memeber of our family. Tandy "Suicide" Spurlock passed away last night after finishing a fantastic race night at the 201 Speedway. He was 43 years old & loved by race fans everywhere. He will be sadly missed!! I Miss Things The Way They Were
The old site. Since lost cherry (i knew it has cherrytap) changed its name to fubar things have changed. Im not talking about how the site is run Im talking about the people. What happened to the old site where friends rated friends pics and things without being asked? Now if you want anyone to rate anything you have to "pay" them. WTF. There are still a few good souls out there like leveling familys that come when you are close to leveling but noone just rates to rate and make friends anymore. Noone reads profiles anymore. So, I have a kid, actually he is a Man since he is going to be 20 in September. Are people genetically bred with certain aspirations? Beef Nacho Casserole
INGREDIENTS: 1 pound ground beef 1 1/2 cups chunky salsa 1 (10 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained 3/4 cup creamy salad dressing (e.g. Miracle Whip) 1 teaspoon chili powder 2 cups crushed tortilla chips 2 cups Colby cheese -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring to crumble, until evenly browned. Drain grease. Remove from the heat, and stir the salsa, corn, mayonnaise and chili powder into the beef. In a 2 quart casserole dish, layer the ground beef mixture, tortilla chips and cheese twice, ending with cheese on top. Bake for 20 minutes uncovered in the preheated oven, until cheese is melted and dish is thoroughly heated.

Pesto: * 4 cups fresh basil leaves * 4 cups Italian parsley springs * 4 large cloves garlic * 1 1/2 cups olive oil * 1/4 tsp. salt Roasted Chicken Salad: * 1 cup diced Roasted Chicken * 1 cucumber , peeled, seeded and diced * 2 cups mixed greens * 1/4 cup roasted pine nuts * 1/2 lemon , juiced * Parmesan cheese * 1/4 cup sliced black olives * 1/2 pound farfalle pasta * Handful pomegranate seeds To prepare the pesto: Chop basil, parsley and garlic in a food processor. Why I Hate Golf
I have a friend, Bobby, who is an avid golfer. Because I play hockey, he felt that I would naturally take to the sport because of similar mechanics to the game. Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.. Box Of Chocolates
This is the third or fourth recipe that I've used from Hello, Cupcake and I loved it. It's simple and adorable! This time I made the "Box of Chocolates".This is just a phone picture...hopefully I'll upload more later.It's mini yellow-butter cake cupcakes with chocolate ganache. I decorated with marshmallow hearts (cut in half so they weren't so thick), juju hearts, white icing, sparkle sugar that I colored red, and cupid mix m&ms. I didn't do the marshmallow step they recommended because the marshmallows were too big for my cupcakes. I think it turned out cute anyway.I bought a Spongebob heart shape box of candies (the only one left, on sale...YAY!) and put the cupcakes in and surrounded them with pink and red jelly bellys.:]

WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon official in charge of the wounded warrior program said Sunday he has been forced to resign, as the military continues to struggle with how best to care for troops injured in combat. A Return?
Coming back to Fubar after a year is a real shock... I was here for the LostChary, and then the CherryTap and finally Fubar and each change was a sorta seemless transferral from one to another...more stuff, more people...some changes were great and others a pain in the ass.
