If you have been a friend of mine for at least a year, you might remember me losing my mother last October. This Saturday, Oct. 16, will mark the 1st anniversary of her passing after an almost 12 year battle against breast cancer. How ironic that she passed during breast cancer awareness month. I think about her often and remember, as if it was yesterday, watching her take her last breath in my family room with everyone who loved her at her bedside. She was the toughest person, not just woman, I have EVER known. One of the things she insisted upon until her final days was to enjoy life. Cell Phones For Kids?
A few weeks ago my sister decided that my 8 year old niece (who lives with MY family) needs her own cell phone. I'm not sure if I've ever heard anything so ridiculous. Where do 8 year olds go with their own guardians or a responsible person to supervise them (who probably has thier own cell in case of an emergency!)? The only thing an 8 year old will do with a cell phone is run the minutes down -- especially since it's prepay. I've had prepay and it's insane. PLUS, my sister gave her a camera phone. I've recently had a problem the last couple weeks regarding my cellphone, my Tmobile MDA phone, the screen on it turned white, and I cannot view anything, so I had to spend $177 to buy a new phone. So if I do not respond to anything via my phone for the next few days, I am sorry, it's not that I don't want to, but I can't. If you need to reach me, use messengers. I can SMS to your phone if you have Yahoo and give me your number, I only have a few numbers plugged in. Here is some footage from a few months ago. I was working out some parts for the first final track from the upcoming Celldweller album, "So Long Sentiment." It's a pretty awesome feeling when I watch this footage because not one single synth part i was working on ended up in the final mix. I think i have a ton of extra fodder for you guys when the remix files go public at FixtRemix.com. I decided at the very last second to sneak in a little clip of the actual finished song in here. Remix Details... I've been mentioning that I was recently approached (along with Bret of Blue Stahli fame) by another artist to do a remix. I don't often do remixes for other artists because the process is fairly extensive and generally takes a week or 2 to wrap up. God Himself already knows how many people (including my mom) would be annoyed if I took more time to work on anything else but Wish Upon a Blackstar. The last remix I did was "Propane Nightmares" for Pendulum and I had been listening to Hold Your Color for years - it was cool to be able to remix a track from their new record. So for similar reasons, when I was hit up by BT a few weeks ago to mangle a track off his upcoming record, I knew I had to make it happen. Celtic's Burns succumbs to cancer Burns had been receiving treatment for skin cancer Celtic legend Tommy Burns has died at the age of 51 after losing his long-running battle against cancer. Burns had been undergoing treatment in both Glasgow and France in recent weeks after being diagnosed in March. I can go to a PG-13 movie see blood and guts but yet a picture can be marked NSFW (Censored as I call it) that is an art picture by either Julie Bell, Louis Royo or Boris.
