Hi all I hope your week has been a good one. Mine hasn't been that great, this past weekend the only really reliable car broke down, so hubby fixed it and started it up after charging the battery, went to start it yesterday and it was DEAD again!!!!! GRRRRRRR I was sooooo frustrated and mad I just couldn't believe that it died. So we are gonna have to get a battery for it. I am trying to get some blogs approved so that I can write more blogs. Right now we need all the extra money we can get. I just hope that things will get a little better with the car situation. Darryl was just as mad as I was yesterday! He is coming home tonight, don't know what time or anything but at some point he will be home, then he will get paychecks tomorrow morning. I hope they are good ones! So to all of you "green" types, I hate you all today. Today was "Car Free Day" in DC, I guess as some kind of "save the environment" initiative. Now, I'm all for reducing emissions and whatnot, but this was a horrible, horrible idea. See, some of us already take crowded public transportation to work every day. So today, in addition to the herds which normally pack the Metro (that'd be "subway" to some of you) to capacity every day, not to mention all the tourists which routinely clog up the system, we had precisely one metric fuck-ton of additional people trying to save the planet or something. My ride to work is normally about 20 minutes, give or take. Today it took me an hour and fifteen minutes. An hour and fifteen freakin' minutes. Trains were breaking down all over the place, which caused backups and delays. Then all the people on those trains had to offload and crowd into others, which caused even more delays and broken trains... I think the term is "cascade failure." As

Okay the car isnt from hell. It just hates me. The car is actually a good car. Drives great it just doesnt want me in it or fixing it. Apparently it likes kota better lol. Recently I had a shock, my Dad had a heart attack and we were very close to losing him. A very emotional time for myself and family. I was in a car accident on Friday. I was turning left from my road to the main one and these guys in this Explorer hit me and flipped over onto the roof of their SUV. My car sustained some damage to the passenger side front bumper and on the hood (passenger side as well) but their vehicle was pretty much totaled. One guy had to go to the hospital and get checked out (both police officers and EMTs told me he was fine) and the other guy didn't speak English. I think they were just flying down Blue Lick Rd for them to flip over after impact. I mean, my air bag didn't even deploy and it's still drivable (other than the embarrassing body damage). So now, until I get my car fixed, I'm pretty much stuck at home. Unless I can talk someone into driving to the south end of Louisville to come rescue me for a bit. Original recipe yield: 10 servings PREP TIME 30 Min COOK TIME 4 Hrs 40 Min READY IN 16 Hrs 40 Min NGREDIENTS * 2 tablespoons canola oil * 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour * 4 tablespoons New Mexico red chile powder * 2 1/2 cups warm water * 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced * 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano * 1/3 teaspoon ground cumin * 1 tablespoon salt * 3 pounds cubed pork stew meat DIRECTIONS 1. In a skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Stir in flour and brown until light golden brown. Blend in chile powder. Slowly add water, stirring until lumps are removed. Add garlic, oregano, cumin and salt. Simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. 2. Place pork in a large baking pan or casserole pan. When chile mixture has cooled, add it to pork and mix until pork is covered with chile. Marinate pork for at least 12 hours or overnight. 3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C)

Is there anything worse than car problems?? I know there is, but God it sucks. I knew something was wrong with it, but I thought it was just the a/c fan. It made a horrible noise every time I turned the a/c or heat on. Welllll...this morning I turned the heat on and it went CLUNK. 50 Car Pile Up In Lakeland, Fl On 1-4
LAKELAND, FL -- Authorities say at least three people have died in a 50-car pileup on Interstate 4 Wednesday morning. Nearly a 15 mile stretch of I-4 in Polk County is closed right now. Officials say thick smoke from nearby brush fires and fog made for hazardous driving conditions which may have played a role in several crashes. There are several crashes in Haines City, Polk City and near Lakeland. In the 50 vehicles pileup, officials say more than a dozen of the vehicles semi trucks. There are also overturned tankers on the road. Westbound I-4 is closed at U.S. 27. The eastbound lanes are closed at County Road 557 which is just northeast of Lakeland. Carpal Tunnel Update
I have finally received a report from my consultant regarding my carpal tunnel syndrome. He has confirmed despite that my nerve conduction tests were normal that I do have carpal tunnel syndrome. While I was in hospital with pneumonia I had an x-ray of my C-spine to check for a cervical rib but none was present. My thyroid tests were normal. For the moment I am not having many problems with my condition. Because of this I have been advised not to have any surgery at this time as it might produce pillar pain which might interfere with my work and cause me to have a few months of work. When I next have pain I will have further steroid injections and if necessary after that I will have surgery.

On the 15 th of this month, I took my car to the local GM dealership, and explained the problem (explained below) that the car was having. Problem: In the morning, I would go to start the car, and it was just crank, and crank , and crank, and not start. To get the car to start, I would have to take a rubber mallet and tap on the bottom of the gas tank. After tapping on the bottom of the tank I would get back in the car, and turn it on , it would crank a couple times , and start up. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a fuel pump issue. INGREDIENTS * 3 cups all-purpose flour * 1 cup vegetable oil * 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar * 1 cup chopped walnuts * 1 cup grated carrots * 1 cup milk * 6 eggs * 1 teaspoon baking soda * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 3 teaspoons baking powder * 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon * 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg * 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9 or 10 inch tube pan. 2. Sift the flour, baking soda, and baking powder together and set aside. 3. Beat the eggs with the ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cardamom together for 5 minutes. Stir in the confectioner's sugar and mix well. Beat in the vegetable oil and continue beating for 5 minutes. 4. Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, to the egg mixture. My daughter was born Fri. March 7, 2008 at 1:04pm. She weighed 3lbs and 11oz. She was admited to Riley Childrens hospital that night about 8:30. They docters took her by C-section, and then she was put into an incubator and was kept there until she was transford. I got to see her for a total of 5 min. Today is the 10th and I was released from the hospital and was able to see my daughter for the first time since she was born. The hardest thing to deal with was not being able to see her. I haven't got to hold her yet and hopefully soon I will be able to.
