It appears when the sun is high in the sky and its light passes through diaphanous high-altitude cirrus clouds. This is a fire rainbow – the rarest of all naturally occurring atmospheric phenomena. The picture was captured last week on the Idaho / Washington border. The event lasted about one hour. This is my first blog with a concern, that may or may not be world changing but it is killer news. Unfortunately i have to plug a company that many may not like. even I had shunned them in the past as inferior, including poor tech suport. But what they have done is make history, never has a popular computer company put linux on its hardware from the factory. This company is Dell, im not going to go into linux much but this is great, I have faught to learn linux for a long time, and the area that always plagued me was in the area of hardawre compatibility or getting the existing drivers to work. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Hey everyone...so it's official, I now have two kids in high school, which is so surreal to me because I could swear it was just yesterday that I was in high school, anyway, I wasn't sure my youngest was going to make it into high school...it wasn't looking very promising there for a while, but she did it! She is now a freshman, starting at East in September and my oldest will be a senior at East. Mind Vomit
My beautiful little sun conure Hecate died. I'm not sure what happened to her. She was talking shit just last night like she usually does. We covered her up for the night and this morning she wasn't hollering at the top of her lungs which is her usual habit. I commented to my roomie that she sure was being quiet and when he went to take her cover off, we discovered her at the botom of her cage. I've been crying all day. I love all my animals and I wonder if I mised something, some sign that she was sick or uncomfortable. The odd thing is when we went outside there was a dead sparrow in the front of our complex. Freaky. My roomie is so kick ass though, he buried her in a pot container and he planted a flowering bush on top of her and hung her bell from her favorite toy it's branches. Texas Uprising Concert
Damn I had a blast last night. Kevin Fowler's performance was by far the best of the night. He opened by telling everyone that at 6:31 last night his wife gave birth to his new baby girl. I didn't drink till after Kevin Fowler's performance and let me tell you in less than 35 minutes I slammed 5 Crown and sprites. I was feelin' goooooooood when Robert Earl Keen got his ass up on stage. Reckless Kelly was amazing and damn their lead singer is sexy as hell. He has an amazing voice. The Eli Young band was good but was by far on the bottom of the performances for the night. Roger Creager was the opening singer and damn he was great and cute to boot lmao. There were loads of cowboys and cowgirls looking good, cutting loose, getting drunk, dancing, and having a blast. Just goes to show us Texans know how to have fun :P. Life can throw a person a lot of curves as we well know. But when things are low you have nowhere to go but up. I have looked back the last 6 years and have said wow...I was below ground. Of course I didn't think it would ever happen to me but it did. I ended up spending 11 months in a shelter with no money...but I did make a lot of friends. Living with people who are in the same boat as you. Something I wouldn't wish on anyone..not good to feel a lone and plus battle depression at the same time. Backfire
I'm back in my home town now. However being closer to my mother didn't last very long. I moved back on July 1st of 2006 to be closer to my mother. In the middle of July my mother had blood clots in her legs and was hospitalized. Something happen....a blood clot may have went to her brain who knows. After her stay in the hospital she was put in a nursing home. She was diagnosed with dementia...the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. They have tried treating her for it with anti depressants mainly. The first nursing home she was put in was near by. That didn't work out for her because the anti depressants she was on was making her bust out in mad rages toward the workers. Again they found another blood clot in her leg and was hospitalized. She was released and put in a different nursing home where she still resides today. I try to get over to see her when I can and between me and her daughter we try our best to please her. Finding Closure
The passing of my father......... It was very hard for me I must say. He passed away in his sleep during the night. My mother went in to wake him and noticed he was cold. For the last 5 years he was in ill health. Had a bad heart and diabetic besides. I remember talking to him on the phone the day before and him telling me ..."I don't know"..think he knew his time was nearing. I had no grieving time with his death really. Their was no funeral just his cremation. And feeling so helpless because I was 31 miles away with no car. I didn't have the chance to say goodbye to him. Later in the month it really started to bother me something bad. Everyday seemed worse as time went a long. I had no closure to his death..it was eating me up inside. I remember the 1st of June I was really bad that day. My neighbor came over and found me in a heap..sobbing like never before. She called 911 and they took me to the hospital. Monster Trucks May 26, 2007 Sudbury
Well as some of yous know for easter my oldest got two tickets to the monster truck spectacular from the easter bunny. Tristen & I went together. All day Sunday he asked me when are we going can we go now. He even watched his monster truck dvd that I got off of Q92.We left early in the day to go eat and make sure we got there before the lines where out the door. We where at the gift shop place and I was so upset at the prices talk about out of this world prices. They did have on floor passes for $10.00 each so we could go up and see the trucks up close and he could met the drives where they would all sign his dvd. We have taken a lot of pictures I am going to get some 8X10 and put them up in his room. He had a great time. All he could say was monster trucks I think the kids was in shock. My Life
So, after almost a year of struggling with everything from emotions, finances, life in general...things are really starting to look up for me finally! It started with my new job. :D I got a new job, still working at the hospital, with a nice pay increase. I start this Wednesday working at the hospital pharmacy as a their buyer. I think that it will keep me really busy and be quite challenging. So very excited to start! Next...I got the car of my dreams. Which not only meant getting rid of my gas hog Explorer, but reducing my payments by $150 a month. Hip hip hooray!!! This car has everything I could ever imagine! It is a Cherry Red Monte Carlo, with black leather seats(heated, like I'll ever use those in Oklahoma), sunroof, tinted windows, auto start and lots of extras inside. I loved the fact that I could change the radio station and volume right on my steering wheel. I was totally like a little kid in a candy store driving home from Lawton! RESCHEDULED RAIN DATE: SATURDAY JUNE 23 Tulsa Raceway Park Tulsa, OK I had a blast yesterday. M4 and I got there about 8:30 in the morning after eating breakfast. Week From Hell
Well last week was the week from hell. A month ago, the company that I worked for was bought out...and as one of the stockholders, I voted for the buyout. We had heard rumors that there were going to be some "cuts" and they were going to be painful. Last Wednesday the "painful" cuts started....150 people lost their jobs as a result of the downsizing...and I was one of them. I had to go in on Thursday to "teach" some people the jobs that only I knew how to do....it was a hard day for me. But with a few tears, some laughter, sharing some great memories and lots of hugs and kisses from some of my really wonderful co-workers, I got through the day. It's hard to stuff 24 years of memories and friendships into an 8 hour period of time... Well, I found out a few days ago that the woman I love has no feelings for me, even though she told me she did. Instead, she has them for another men, one of my best friends. This goes out to all posse friends and family. At least those of you who have not already removed me from your lists and decided I am not worthy of still being your friend. Why is it that when ever someone says the are upset, depressed, or mad, that everyone has to take it upon theirself to change that person's mood? No one tries to change the mood of someone that is happy and feeling good. Though being that way to much is more unhealthy to you mentally than being upset now and then. Maybe I didn't get the memo, or go to the meeting that made having any feeling other than joy and happiness illegal to maintain for more than a few seconds. On this memorial day weekend, I find myself thinking about why I joined the Army. For the most part I joined because I wanted to prove to myself & others that I could make it. Pets/animals
I came back from my trip to Orlando FL last Sunday to a dog in a crate on my back porch. My s/o said that the past wednesday he was coming back from getting dinner & saw a dog in the road dodging vehicles. She was covered with fleas & ticks. She is a very sweet and loving animal. In less than a week had learned the name we gave her. This dog is about 8 months to 1 year old according to our vet & is in great health. She doesnt even have to be on a leash in the yard as she doesn't stray & answers to her name when called. She obviously was taken care of by some humans at some point given her physical & mental health. My point in this is if you have an animal in your home that you find you can no longer afford to support with the proper love, food, veterinary care & daily interaction they need, then turn it into a no-kill shelter, or find someone that is willing to take in your pet.
