It always seems that autumn is so prolific of rainy days. The gray clouds that hover so low in the sky threatening of the gloom that is to come. Ingredients: * 3 eggs * 3/4 cup vegetable oil * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour * 3/4 cup granulated sugar * 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar * 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon * 1-1/4 teaspoons baking soda * 2 cups grated carrot * 1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips * 1/2 cup chopped walnuts * CREAM CHEESE FROSTING(recipe follows) Directions: 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 8-inch round baking pans. 2. Beat eggs, oil and vanilla in large bowl. Stir together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and baking soda; add to egg mixture and blend well. Stir in carrot, peanut butter chips and walnuts; pour into prepared pans. 3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire rack. Cool completely. Frost with CREAM CHEESE FROSTING. Cover; refrigerate leftover cake. 10 to 12 servings. CREAM

Autumn Morning Love
I woke up and found her head lying on my chest. She was still asleep. The sunlight was coming through the window and was shining on the bed. Her hair was glistening in the light and I inhaled the scent of her hair. I love the smell of her hair it is always so fresh and clean smelling. It was one of those cool and crisp autumn mornings. The window was slightly opened and the smell of dead leaves was in the air. I love that smell probably because it takes me back to my childhood. I grew up in a small town that had maple trees everywhere. In the fall the smell of dried leaves filled the air. Autumn Pork Chop Dinner
1 tablespoon vegetable oil 2 (1-inch thick) pork loin chops 2 cups shredded cabbage 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 medium potatoes -- peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick 1 cup fresh or frozen green beans 1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning 3/4 cup apple juice 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs 1 tablespoon butter -- melted In a large skillet, brown pork chops in oil; remove and set aside. Toss the cabbage with parsley and brown sugar; place in an 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish. Top with potatoes and beans. Arrange chops over vegetables. Sprinkle with lemon-pepper. Pour apple juice over all. Cover and bake at 350 F. for 45 minutes or until the pork chops and vegetables are tender. Combine the bread crumbs and butter; sprinkle on top. Return to the oven for 15 minutes. Serves 2

************************************************************ AUTUMN CHICKEN ONE-DISH-DINNER ************************************************************ INGREDIENTS: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 1 teaspoon dried basil (or 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil) 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves 2 medium zucchini 4 large plum tomatoes 3 tablespoons lemon juice 4 medium chicken-breast halves, skin & bone on(about 2 1/2 pounds) 4 ears of corn 1 tablespoon olive or salad oil 1/2 teaspoon sugar DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Remove husks and silk from corn. With serrated knife, cut each ear of corn crosswise into 3 pieces. Cut zucchini into 3-inch chunks. Cut each tomato lengthwise in half. Place chicken breasts in large roasting pan (17 by 11 1/2 inches); sprinkle with oregano and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Arrange corn and zucchini around chicken. Bake chicken and vegetables 30 minutes. Autumn Finally Returns
Frost slides over my skin... I'm gripping the bark for dear life. Don't drop me, or I'll die! I'm screaming to the topmost branch. But the volume is in vain, its ears are long deaf. My veins dry as I plummet, flesh burning in the long fall to earth. I'm seeing my demise... swirling visions of crushed debris scattered over a brown grave. But just before the thud, I am uplifted by a cold gust. The feeling of flight is bittersweet, beautiful, floating gray moisture invades my sight. I've landed on a strange surface, and confused by the transparency. The landing was so gentle...almost calming. But what is this? Long, black branches? Combine the remaining ingredients in a small bowl and spoon over the chops. Cover and cook on Low about 4-6 hours or until done. Serve one or two slices of squash with each pork chop. Makes about six servings.

So pretty much everything I've heard suggests that 'Avatar' is a visually breathtaking movie, albeit one that plot-wise doesn't exactly blow one's mind. "Worth seeing for the effects" is a phrase I've heard more than once. Well, you know what? If this truly is heralding a new era of film-making, and we can expect a golden future of movies that look this good, I think that means I can afford to wait until someone makes one that's a GOOD movie, cheers. Do I take my hat off to Cameron? HATS OFF : it looked amazing. As an exercise in world building, it's unsurpassed, although... HATS ON : the neon night stuff was a li'l fruity... HATS OFF : The 3D is rarely used in a "WHOOOO LOOK AT THIS STUFF COMING OUT OF THE SCREEN" way, and is pretty much entirely a 'giving the film depth' tool. There were more "WHOOOOO LOOK AT MY HANDS" moments in the trailer for some cretinous dance movie they shew beforehand than in the entire movie, so kudos for that. HATS ON : Nevertheless, it's gimmicky and unneccessary, and I want to see the movie in 2D now because I'm convinced it will actually be a better film for it. I'll go further, and say given the choice between 2D and 3D for ANY future release, and I'm going with 2D. 3D gives me a headache, and as far as Avatar goes and how it enhances the effects, it's like baking the world's most lavish and ornate cake, and then deciding that's not enough and gold-plating it. I don't want gold-plated cake.

So last night I went to see Avenue Q. My seats where good I was about a row or two in front of where the balcony starts and pretty close to center. I thought it was good. I also thought it was funny. With out giving any thing away really it was cool to walk in and have music playing. The one odd thing was that Gary Coleman was played by a lady. But that being said she was very good. It is part of the musical but one thing that was tough to get used to was some people where people and not puppets. First let me start off I am here because somone on thi site i know invited me. She is close to my age, so i checked out this site and realized there are alot of 30+ people on it. Avgolemono: Chicken Soup With Egg-lemon Sauce
1 (3 pound) free range chicken 2 quarts water 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 onion, finely diced 2 bay leaves 1 leek, cleaned and quartered 1 carrot, peeled and quartered 2/3 cup aborio rice 2 large eggs 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon salt 1 teaspoon ground pepper Place the chicken in a large pot with 2 quarts cold water, enough to cover the chicken. Ingredients 1 large avocado sliced 1 bunch lettuce leaf 1 bunch green onions sliced 3 large orange sectioned & cut into chunk Dressing: 1/2 C. peanut oil 1/2 C. orange juice 2 Tbs. red wine vinegar 1/2 tsp. orange peel grated Directions In salad bowl, combine avocado, lettuce, sliced onion and oranges. Mix all dressing ingredients and pour dressing over the salad just before serving. Serving Size 4

Avocado-glazed Chicken Breasts
serves 2 1/4 cup flour Vegetable oil 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp tarragon 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp basil 1 large whole chicken breast, boned, halved (skin on) 2/3 cup white wine 1 tbsp sweet butter 1 egg beaten 1 small ripe California avocado Mix flour, salt and pepper. Dip chicken in egg then flour mixture to coat, Heat thin layer of oil in skillet. Saute chicken skin side down until golden. Turn and saute other side until chicken is tender. Total cooking time will be about 7 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle herbs over chicken. Add wine and butter to pan. Bring to boil and simmer uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy. Place halved avocado cut side down and slice. Press down on avocado with palm of hand to fan slices slightly. Lift with knife or spatula to top of chicken. Spoon some pan juices over top. Cover skillet and heat briefly just to warm through.

I found out about a month later ( why wouldn't anyone tell me anything,beats me!!!! ) there was an earthquake at my work and it happened at 7 o'clock in the morning,apparently it swayed the building quite a bit and I was very very lucky since I don't show up till 7;30.
