The Cruise
OK, since everyone seems to want to hear about it :P It was an awesome cruise put together that showcased the Barenaked Ladies along with Guster, the New Odds, Great Big Sea, and several other bands. Mainly focused on BNL, since they set up last years'. This year we sailed to Grand Cayman and Jamaica. As we set sail from Miami, BNL played a set of mostly obscure songs that are fan faves rather than the generally well known songs. It was particularly funny when the ships' horn drowned them out in the middle of a song :P Later that night they played a set for returning cruisers (the cruise is called Ships & Dip, so those who came for the 2nd year are called Double Dippers - I paid last year though couldn't go which is a whole different story - but I got to go to the DD show). A guy went to a travel agent and tried to book a two week cruise for himself and his girlfriend. The travel agent said that all the ships were booked up and things were very tight, but that he would see what he could do. My little island is well protected, yet some still feel above the law. I went for my usual run yesterday morning and on the return trip, my route passes an elementary school. There is usually a cruiser parked close by to ensure traffic obeys the speed limit in the school zone. School already started and was in session and the cruiser was parked in a church parking lot across the street. Unfortunately as I was approaching the drive, a car sped by and the officer pulled out to enforce the speed and clipped me, knocking me down. I was already a bit winded, sweaty and just wanted to get home and rehydrate and get into the shower, but went off on him like a fly on shit (pardon the expression) and was not going to the hospital and waste taxpayer money and time to take care of a little bruising and soreness. I once thought I had found love so I married the woman who made happy and after ten years she cheated. So I figure live and learn I am not the first person in the world this has happened to. Yet ANOTHER two part lucid dream last night. This one was unusual in it's detail though. I am sure that I will have to break this up over at least 2 blogs because FU, in it's infinite wisdom, decided to put a LIMIT on the number of characters that are allowed in one blog...so we shall see how it goes....at least TWO maybe three so let's just see shall we? A bunch of friends and I were walking from one party to another party in Downtown LA and all of a sudden people started screaming. I looked back to see what was going on and I saw a huge lightening BALL explode from the ground about what seemed a half mile away. My first thought was "some idiot decided to nuke LA...great" so I looked around for shelter but soon realized it was not a nuke.....it was a regular explosion because I saw puffs of debris wafting down the street like after 9/11...slowly...not like a nuke that wipes you away, before you can even see it coming, by the shockwave first. I had a conference call with my staff manager this morning regarding what is expected from all of us on the team for the balance of the year and it is not good. Prep Time: 30 min Start to finish: 55 min Servings 6 1/4 cup butter or margarin, melted 2 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 cups Whole Grain Total cereal 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 1/2 teaspoon of paprika 6 boneless skinless chicken breast (about 1 3/4 lbs) 1. Well, I found out a few days ago that the woman I love has no feelings for me, even though she told me she did. Instead, she has them for another men, one of my best friends. Cruzin Through The Holidays...
Another year has almost passed and I find myself back here yet again.Months wasted on some douchebag bf and single again. The Cry.... as i wandered the path i choose, i heard a cry from afar. i searched as i walked for the creature this cry came from. the cry was low, and very sad. i searched onward as my feet carried me forward. never knowing from where the cry was coming from. i continued my path and one day i realized the cry was forever with me. and this cry of dispair was getting closer as each day i traveled. past the hills, the valleys, through many villiages of people laughing and going about their routine as if they never heard this depressing cry. i stopped an old woman once, as i asked her if she did not hear the cry and why no one was searching for the source of such misery. she ignored me as if i was not there. i stopped and looked at the village people continueing on with their busy lives, the cry was getting louder. no one seemed to care that somewheres out there was a creature mourning for some reason. no one dared to search for it, but all was too busy within themselves. i cont
