Congratulations TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because...... WE WERE ALWAYS OU

Nitpicking over grammar and spelling on internet fora is either an occupational hazard for English teachers or the past time of old fogies who have nothing valuable to say,--the type who write to newspaper editors frequently to whine about minor breaches in grammatical correctness. English grammar is just a convention, nothing more. I suppose those people consider themselves to be the "Eyes of the English grammar". Well I wish them to go on permanent strike(Terminate themselves) so at least we don't have to suffer their tedious nonsense about correcting people’s Grammar. And I assume those people suffer from the myopia typical of self important pseudo intellectuals, namely they think that it is people like them,--in their opinions only, of course,-- that make the English Language being so bloody appreciated. An Ignorant person would be a good antidote to their snobbish crap. Good grief, people can be humourless apes sometimes and I positively loathe them for that.

Connection Problems.
So, some of you guys know I've been having some problems with uploads, etc. I got in touch with my service provider (Telewest Blueyonder - recently acquired by Virgin Media Group) and apparantly the problems I was having was due to improved security measures put in place by my provider. They've made only ONE port accessable by secure websites - so uploading pics for example meant that my computer refused to talk to the website causing it to time out. I'm glad it's sorted BUT I'm majorly pissed off that these arseholes didn't even send me a fucking E-Mail telling me they'd done that. Woulda saved me a whole lotta fucking about.

So, every once in a while I've been told that I have an accent of sorts... which I've never fully understood since I was born and raised in Connecticut. But then I decided to actually read up on it. I was curious since it just seems so weird to hear someone tell me that. I just assumed that we tend to talk properly (depending on what part of the state you're in) but I ended up reading this article about CT being influenced by NY and Mass. Which makes a lot of sense because Ct is right between them. But at the same time we have different inflections from that of our neighbors. From my part of southwestrn Ct generally our t's and double t's sound more like d's. Like, bottle sounds more like "boddle" or o's and u's tend to sound the same. It's kinda funny dissecting my speech. I'm even doing it now. My friend from Chicago told me that I say "fault" funny. Sounds more like "fult" like there's no "a" in there at all. Over the weekend I went to the D-Day re-enactment in Coneaut, Ohio. It was a blast! Weather was perfect.. rainy, cold, just like june 6, 44 in France. I was the Beachmaster. I represented the US Navy men who were the first off the landing craft and set up the beach. They directed the troops and landing craft. We had been under heavy fire from the German troops on the bluff.. Even though they had been repeatedly straffed by a P-51 Mustang at close range. I swear, He was one hotshot pilot!! He was low to the deck and after one pass, did a barrel roll and looped around for another.. It was truly awsome. I was told later that since I was in a gray helmet, I was easy to pick out and the snipers and MG crews were all gunning for me between defending thier position. There was this construction worker on the 3rd floor of this unfinished building. He needed a hand saw, but was too lazy to go down and get it himself, so he tried to call his fellow worker on the ground to get it for him, but this guy could not hear a word he said. I'm considering dropping biology as a second major and picking up photography instead. Photography could work with my major. I'd have to buy a new camera, but that's okay. I've taken some photos with my digital, just messing around with it. Mostly landscape photos. Biology... it's too complex. I just like the genetics and such end of it.
