Food, Wonderful Food
For dinner last night I made a dish from my childhood. It is SIMMERED LION'S HEAD. No, it doesn't have any lion meat in it, rather the final dish should resemble a lion head (in an artsy fartsy way.) It is also a dish served on high occasions, as it contains enough meat to peasant feed a family for a week. It has relatively few ingrediants and should be enjoyed for the richness and simplity of the dish. SIMMERED LION'S HEAD 2 lbs ground pork 1 T rice wine or dry sherry 1/2 t salt 1/2 t msg 1 T sugar 1 T minced green onion 1 T minced ginger 1 egg 2 T corn starch Combine the above with the pork and mix well. My Mom would tell you to mix in one direction only, don't ask why, just do it! If the meat is lean add up to 3 T water. Now make a slurry of the following: 2 T soy 1 T corn starch 2 T water Divide the meat into 8 equal portions and form into meatballs, big meatballs. Then, coat the meatball with the slurry. This will give the meatballs color. Now fry them

As we all know, school pretty much sucks. Either the subject is boring or the professor is a moron. At the moment I happen to be in the latter though can't seem to do wrong. I love the class subject. Always wanted to learn Web Design and now I get to. Doing good so far, and oddly enough, I would have to fail every assignment from now til the end of the class to get anything less than an A overall. The next time someone asks you a dumb question wouldn't you like to respond like this? Yesterday I was buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for Athena the wonder dog at Wal-Mart and was about to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant? So since it was a weekend, with little to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again. Although I probably shouldn't, because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. My Life
I tend to have a lot of alone time these days. Sometimes my mind gets to wandering and I thought about a few songs I wanted to have played at my eulogy. Is that a bad thing? Omg! My Dad Is Crazy!
Apparently my dad was in line for trains or he's just so addicted to McDonalds! In a hurry to get McDonald's he drives right through this intersection at Warren Woods and Pardee Roads in Berrien County, Galien, Michigan. He drove straight through on Pardee Rd going North. You could turn and go Left as that the higher corner. The water was over the top of his car! He drives a 1996 Chevy Caprice which is a good size car! On the 21st of Aug I received a Phone call form the National Bone Marrow Donor program wanting permission the do further test on a sample I had give 14 years ago When my son lost his life waiting for a Liver transplant well he did not get one. Hurricane Ike Struck !
Well... we saw it coming....we knew it was on the way... I was out of town all week... the impending loom of the hurrican headed right for Houston..... I was headed south west of Austin headed to Houston on Friday when I was the only car headed in that direction....everyone else was headed OUT of town... I got back about noon...a warm strong breeze was hear.... coming home to my kids.. we watched the news....the storm was already surging on Galveston island at 3 pm.. places I have taken my kids many times...and visited.....we could watch as the streets began to rise 2....3....then 4 feet... crazy we saw.... then as 5pm came... the winds were being felt from the outter bands of Ike... we had food....water.....propane.... we filled the bathtub with water incase we lost water too.... the threat was now a hurricane 2... coming closer...it was about a 3.... we watched the Weather channel....and CNN and FOx News...and all the local news... ( I do have to admit I watched more

My Mother!
My mother is a strong willed,loving,talented and can be honest to the point of bring someone to tears,kind of woman. I love her to death! I live with my sister helping take care of our mom. Over the years she has become ill and fragile and also a little forgetful. OK,she is a lot forgetful! I can tell her I am going outside and she will completely freak out and forget where I am and the onslaught of phone calls start to my sister. Speed dial is a great thing...unless your my sister. We decided to leave her post it notes with the date,time and message next to her bed so she would see them. this however didn't work so well since her freaking lap dog from hell likes to take them off the table and go bury them! I am not allowed to the dog as sh loves it very much. I think we are going to move on to a dry erase board. It will go on the wall,away from the damn dog. Returning Home From Ike
Thanks to all of you who have sent well wishes and phone calls to see if I and my family are ok. We did survive the storm.. and came back on Sunday to see mass destruction everywhere. I will be posting photos soon in my photo gallery. Mass destruction is everywhere in my area. Whole neighborhoods are destroyed. 40 Persons known dead at the moment with more search and discovery on going. The area in which I live has suffered total losses of homes, and all belongings. FEMA is starting to come in to help to give us ice, and non perishable foods, as most of us have lost all foods that were in fridges and freezers. Needless to say that the losses of material possessions is devastating, however, I am thankful to God for keeping so many of us safe. I will post more information when I am able, my time is short at the moment as I am working on food, and water and ice for us. I hope that I will be online some more this evening. My Doctor Appointment
Well the doctor went and amputated my leg today. I am only joking. There was no amputation at all. They did tell me I no longer need my brace . As long as I am in the house. If I go anywhere outside then I need it. I think thats great. I still am not ready for driving. I couldn't hit the brake quick if needed. But I got the brace off. And thats great to me. I have just went to the doctors on Oct, 3rd. He has me walking again on both feet. Although I am still in the brace. I am also still useing a walker to. And getting around kind of quick. That was a surprise. Every bone in my foot feels like it could snap. Even though there is not actual pain involved. Just a lot of crack and pops . Well I had another doctor appointment. They took the 1st step in setting the brace so it can bend. Although they see no bone browth. So I don't know how bad of a thing that is. Can't be good though. I'll keep ya's updated .

well i have moved on from that last job... i finally told them to fuck off... i got out just in time... just before the big christmas trucks came in (hahaha)... i have kept my job at the honeybaked ham still doing caterings... but now that i have gotten settled into that job we have a new distric manager... he is not going to let me stay (company laws) since my dad is my GM and family can't work with each other, other than big hoildays (easter, thanksgiving and christmas)... but the cool part is the new GM is letting me stay long enough to fine a new job but right now that aint happening.... but now with all the shit going on with the store manager (dumb ass blonde) i can't say anything bc my dad is boss and i am barely keeping my job any ways.... but other thank the store manager and the new DM things are wonderful at work!!! i love what i do and it works around my classes!! this is the 3rd week in a row that my main job has given me less than 10hrs for a week... what do i do... tell

This has been a long time coming and it looks like she will be gone from here in a few short weeks. She has been fighting her cancer since December 2005. It started in her breasts and now is in her stomach,liver,lungs and god knows where else. The dr has given her 3-4 wks to live. My mom died of cancer which started in her cervix and uterus and eventually went to her lungs and wrapped around her spinal cord which paralyzed her right before she died. I watched my mom died when I was just 8 yrs old. After she died I was in denial for a few years that she was really gone. I knew but I didnt want to believe it. I am going to NC to see my grandma one more time. I dont want to go after she's gone, to see her laying in that casket. I want to remember all the wonderful things about her. I want to hug her one more time, and tell her thank you for being the kick ass grandma that she was. When I was down and out, she was the one in my corner telling me I was better than that.

My sister in law Kandi my mother in law and my youngest daughther was in a wreck about 45 minutes ago. A 18 wheeler truck slammed in to the car and smashed the driver side in. The car flipped over into a ditch. My mother in law is ok and my daughter seems to be. But Kandi is being cut out of the car as I type this. She was stuck and her legs twisted. Ike's Aftermath
The storm itself was amazing to watch, from the nature perspective. Jeremy and I spent most of Fri night and Sat morn sittin in the door on the porch watching the havoc. I have never witnessed anything like it before. As some may know I live in the area that was directly hit by IKE on Sat. My family rode it out I left friday afternon with ED and Jeremy. We headed to a friends out at Indian Lake in Dewyville. We got hit pretty bad. hardbtheret This is the first time I have signal more than a few minutes. Its hard to post with a phone HA! We still have no lights other than our generators. The NAT GUARD has been giving us ice and water for a few days.
