Arizona Sun
Daydreamin in a plane so high look out the window at the clear blue sky The sun star so bright, but its clors start to fade deep red to hazy orange, drifting yellow, and rays sharp as a blade Slowly it slipsdown every minute of the day so hot the great desert cactus seems to lay In the distance see the formatting hills deep under rocks the rattle snakes wait for shade to kill The sky slowly turning pink as the star starts to hide colors as strong as the big pacific tide Darker and darker the plains must be  the sky is still rich as I can see Half and half behind the hills the sun drifts away this wonderful beautiful image in my head will stay The colors fade the bright star is done
Arizona Governor
The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes AZ's new immigration laws.  Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:      "What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Arizona Gop Lawmaker Wants A State Holiday To Celebrate White People (repost)
By Tanya Somanader on Feb 4, 2012 at 8:15 am Arizona’s unremitting campaign against its Hispanic communities has certainly reached an extreme, with the state GOP initiating a spate of radical anti-immigrant laws, banning Mexican-American and other ethnic studies, and ensuring that Spanish-speakers will never hold elected office. But one lawmaker is intent on turning the party’s xenophobic paranoia into a full-blown caricature. Reacting to a Democratic colleagues apparently incendiary request to celebrate a Latino American day, State Rep. Cecil Ash (R) declared that he’d support the idea as long as there’s a holiday for white people too. “I’m supportive of this proposition. I just want them to assure me that when we do become in the minority you’ll have a day for us,” he said. Ash was “trying to lighten things up,” but when CBS 5 asked if he was serious about a Caucasian holiday, he offered an unequivocal “yes&rdqu
Arizona Birth Control Bill
Good idea to track Arizona Bill HB 2625 I think (or if it's passed, their other house's equivalent? Need to look into that more closely) which would allow Arizona employers to fire or otherwise penalize employees for using birth control (possibly female employees only) unless they have certain kinds of medical reasons, if I understand.   That's foolish and painful. My opinion of course...
Arizona Prepares To Revoke Cards Of Medical Marijuana Violators
Arizona officials has made things very hard for patients to legally receive their medication. Now some patients and caregivers that have technically violated Arizona's new medical marijuana law, may have their cards revoked. The state laws outlines that any caregiver or patient that fails to report violent crimes or lie on an application about past convictions may have their medical marijuana cards revoked. The law even states that the sell of medical cannabis outside the confines of an approved dispensary for profit is still illegal, and improperly secured grow rooms will also result in cards being pulled. Two Arizona patients have already had their cards revoked for a violation, but the details are protected by a confidentiality clause. 10 others are under investigation for possible card revoking for violations according to Arizona DHS rules administrator Tom Salow. Salow says the agency is behind in revoking cards due the failure to research the backgrounds of applicants. Arizona DH
Arizona Gets Its First Dispensary
It's been a long two years since Arizona voters approved medical marijuana for their residents in need. Now the doors are finally opened to the states first medical cannabis dispensary. Arizona Organix opened their doors Thursday morning as the first operational medical marijuana dispensary in Arizona. They were met by several dozen patients lining up to obtain their medication. The line wrapped around the building at the Glendale location were the first of 96 applicants chosen through a lottery from 126 geographic areas across the state. The establishment conducts business with a professional approach and atmosphere. It is set up like a doctor's office with a waiting room, a front desk and room to meet with a medical marijuana professional and a variety of medication. Consultants privately discuss the ailments with the patient to help determine which strains will treat their conditions best. "I've been waiting a long time for this," said Charles Everett, a chronic p
Arizona Residents Support Marijuana Legalization
Data from a recent survey conducted by Behavior Research Center shows over half of Arizona residents support full legalization of marijuana. Could Arizona become a marijuana friendly state like Colorado and Washington? In recent years, nationwide polls have shown the growing support for marijuana legalization. In 2011 a Gallup poll reported that over 50% of Americans support marijuana legalization and medical research. But now the support is growing larger on the state level pushing cannabis politics to be taken seriously. In Arizona the Behavior Research Center asked respondents if they favored or opposed legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use. Shockingly in this predominantly conservative state, 56% responded they favored the idea and only 37% were opposed. The data was collected from all counties, all age groups and demographics. (See Poll Results Here) “It is perhaps ironic that as support for same-sex marriage and defelonization of mariju

After having their 10th child, an Arkansas couple decided that that was enough. So the husband went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife didn't want to have any more children. The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that could fix the problem. The doctor told the man that he was to go home, get a cherry bomb, put it in a can, then hold the can up to his ear and count to 10. The Arky said to the doctor "I may not be the smartest man, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a can next to my ear is going to help me." So the couple drove to Missouri to get a second opinion. The doctor was just about to tell them about the procedure for a vasectomy when he noticed they were from Arkansas. This doctor also told the man to go home and get a cherry bomb, place it in a tin can, hold it next to his ear and count to 10. Figuring that both doctors couldn't be wrong, the man went home, lit a cherry bomb and put it in a can. He held the can up to his e

Ok, so apparently Marcus Monk is out for four to six weeks with a knee injury. Not a good start for the Hogs. Luckily they have the second week of the schedule off so maybe that will give him all the time he needs to rehab. This is just another addition to the horrid offseason the Hogs have had. All of the off the field issues with Houston Nutt, Mitch Mustain and Damian Williams have caused a complete shitstorm in the world of Arkansas Football. It seems like the entire program is resting, at least theoretically, on the shoulders of Casey Dick and Darren McFadden. I do not envy McFadden in the least. If he has a less stellar season than last some will claim his dominance last year was a fluke. If he performs just as well, but not better, some will say that he is not a NFL level player and has hit his peak. If he completely destroys his numbers from last year he will be the golden boy with heaps of praise and the highest of expectations come draft time. Is McFadden the b

Two hillbillies walk into a Dairy Queen. While having a couple of Blizzards, they talk privately about their moonshine operation. Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, eating a chicken sandwich, begins to cough. After a while, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress. One of the hillbillies looks at her and says, "Kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no. Kin ya breathe?" The woman begins to turn blue, eyes widen and shakes her head no. The hillbilly strolls over to the woman, lifts up the back of her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a long lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth. She begins to breathe again, the hillbilly ambles smugly back to his table. Ark Of The Covenant Revealed This Friday June 26th?

The Legend and Myths surrounding the Ark's energy are not they are taken directly out of accounts of the Old Testament. In the 1970s and 1980s Ark researches built several small models of the original ark for testing. Out of gold and forms as discribed in the bible. What they found was rather surprising. The Ark functioned very much like modern day electric compastiors. Storing and directing electrical energy. Also the models generated their own electrical fields (with no outside source of energy.) In the bible the Ark was built by Moses and Hebrews at the direction of the God Yahwah to store the ten commandments and ritual items. And to store "the Voice of God".. It was also the Ark that Hebrews carried into battle and with it able to defeat impossible odds in battle. If indeed June 26 the Ethopians (which
Ark. Woman Pregnant With 18th Child
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) ¯ It's a happy Mother's Day for an Arkansas woman - she's pregnant with her 18th child. Michelle Duggar, 41, is due on New Year's Day, and the latest addition will join seven sisters and 10 brothers. There are two sets of twins. "We've had three in January, three in December. Those two months are a busy time for us," she said, laughing. The Duggars' oldest child, Josh, is 20, and the youngest, Jennifer, is nine months old. The fast-growing family lives in Tontitown in northwest Arkansas in a 7,000-square-foot home. All the children - whose names start with the letter J - are home-schooled. Duggar has been been pregnant for more than 11 years of her life, and the family is in the process of filming another series for Discovery Health. The new show looks at life inside the Duggar home, where chores - or "jurisdictions" - are assigned to each child. One episode of the new show involves a "jurisdiction swap," where the boys do chores tradition

This whole Spygate thing is really bothering me. It's bad enough that the New England Patriots have been accused of cheating - maybe they did it, maybe they didn't - in the grand scheme of things who cares? If you can get an advantage on an opponent to ensure victory, go for it. If the opponent doesn't take precautions to ensure the secrecy of their "signals" or practices, or plays - they are stupid. It may be wrong - but what really bothers me is the fact that (R) Senator Arlen Specter decides that he has to stick his nose into the whole thing. Please tell ne that a US Senator from Pennsylvania has better things to pursue than the sanctity of the National Football League. To you Arlen, I say - go fix the economy, go stop the war, go get us a working medical coverage plan, go get us alternative fuel vehicles, go stop the poverty in our country. For Christ sakes - go do something that will have an impact in the history of the United States. Football is a GAME!!!! The record or integrit

Monarch was an oppressive tyrant from a bleak, dystopian Earth fifty years in the future. The people were unhappy with his rule, particularly a scientist named Matthew Ryder, an expert on temporal studies, who was convinced he could use his technology to travel back in time and prevent the maniacal ruler from ever coming to power. He learned that forty years ago, one of Earth's heroes would eventually turn evil and become Monarch, and ten years from that he would conquer the world. Chosen by Monarch to take part in a time-travel experiment, Ryder traveled back to the DC Universe equivalent of 1991; Ryder was determined to find out who the Monarch really was and, if possible, kill him before he could rise to power. As he travelled through the rift, his body mutated into a form of living temporal energy, and upon arriving at his destination, he took the name Waverider. Waverider used his abilities to peer into several possible futures of different members of the Justice League (alo

You may be unsure (or fairly sure) that what just happened in dreamland may be about to happen out in waking life. The means may be different for any given dreamer depending on your worldview, but the feeling is roughly the same-that time seems short for this world. There can be several different approaches to seeking meaning in this dream. The origins of these approaches are in personal psychology, cu

Armageddon
ARMAGEDDON This story was edited on the suggestion of my special lady (now the heroine of the story, as she always will be in my eyes) Under the orange sky, the last of earth’s angels were fighting a desperate battle in the ruins of a large city. Debris and dead animals lay underfoot everywhere, but were barely noticed by the defenders as their fight for life went desperately onwards. In the thick of the fight was an angel with large, black wings, and his beautiful companion, and fighting side by side the two were cutting down demons at every stroke. Ichor splattered in every direction, and dripped from the swords they fought with further soiling the spoiled pavement. If there had been anyone alive to see, they would have noticed hat beside the strain and exertion on their faces , every so often they glanced at each other and there was a look of love exchanged between them. Demon bodies were piling up around the angel’s feet as the well entrenched defenders took a heavy t

Boundaries, Protection, Empathy Armadillo wears its armor on its back, its medicine is part of its body. Its boundaries of safety are a part of its total being. Adjust your rhythms and senses and you will know what is safe and what is not. Armadillo teaches you how to protect yourself and when to let your defenses down. Make yourself a energy body shield using Armadillo medicine. Make a circle on a piece of paper and see it as a medicine shield. Write in the circle all the things that you want to have, experience, and give you joy. This shield will reflect what you are and what you will on an unconscious level. When you receive an Armadillo totem, it is time to define your space. You may have trouble saying "no" and are being taken for granted. Probably the weirdest reason for owning an album, but I actually bought this and 'Noble Beast' by Andrew Bird for no other reason than that I liked one track I'd heard, and indie comic creator Jeffrey Brown had raved about him in one of his comics.  And I'll admit, I was underwhelmed when I first got it (note to self, just cos you like what a guy does, doesn't mean you'll like what a guy that that guy likes does).  But I stuck with it, and have had it on the iPod a lot walking to and from work, and you know what? This is a really quality album, a real grower.  I'm not so good at describing what music sounds like, but, you know, it's good.

Police in Florida are looking for a little girl, aged about seven, who tried to steal Lego at knife-point. The girl pulled a knife on a cashier at a Wal-Mart store in Largo as she tried to walk out with two boxes of Lego. Police say the girl, aged about seven or eight, hid the toys under her coat and tried to walk out, reports Tampabays10.com. A store employee approached the child, asking her to turn over the Lego blocks. Police say the little girl then opened her jacket and pulled out a 10ins carving knife. The employee talked the girl into putting down the knife and the toys. The girl then rode away on her bicycle.

Dang, today is Armed Forces Day and I can't take off for it. Well, I probably could have but I just found out about this festive occations like two days ago. There is suppose to be a lot of fun stuff for the kids at the Qwest Center's parking lots and such. And then there is suppose to be a concert in the evening. Well, at least I will be able to make my son's last game of soccer today, though. It will be fun, regardless. And it's starting to get really nice here too. Well, I hope everyone else enjoys this day.

The Armed Occupation Of Wounded Knee 1973
The Armed Occupation of Wounded Knee 1973 Revolutionary Worker #952, April 12, 1998 On February 27, 1998, hundreds of people gathered at South Dakota's Pine Ridge reservation to honor the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Wounded Knee occupation. People came from throughout the Western Hemisphere to join in the two days of commemoration, celebration and discussion. One participant told the RW, "There was a time in 1973 when the possibility of change presented itself. People seized that moment. And those moments can happen at any time. I hope I'm part of more moments like that." ***** "I will stand with my brothers and sisters. I will tell the truth about them and about why we went to Wounded Knee. I will fight for my people. I will live for them and, if it is necessary to stop the terrible things that happen to Indians on the Pine Ridge Reservation, I am ready to die for them." Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, of Lamont, California, was declared dead at a hospital about two hours after he was injured in neighboring Tulare County on Jan. 30, the Kern County coroner said. An autopsy concluded Ochoa died of an accidental "sharp force injury" to his right calf. Sheriff's spokesman Ray Pruitt said it was unclear if a delay in seeking medical attention contributed to Ochoa's death. "I have never seen this type of incident," Sgt. Martin King, a 24-year veteran of the sheriff's department, told the Bakersfield Californian. Ochoa and the other spectators fled when authorities arrived at the scene of the fight, King to

Armin Van Buuren Does Honor To His Title!
Armin Van Buuren, one of the best trance DJs of the moment and one of my personal favorites has recently been voted the world's best electronic and techno dj by DJ Mag (which is one of the highest honors a DJ can get). He is currently on tour in the US and last night, he was here in ATL. Since I love his style and trance so much, I expected just an awesome trance show like I've seen him do so many times before (most recently at Twilo for WMC in April). But last night's show was a total departure from his usual routine. Of course he played some classic anthems and good trance but most of the time, he actually played some harder and "nastier" house music. The club was packed and the atmosphere was truly thru the roof : it was absolute bedlam and so contagious : everyone was getting into it. So many people I spoke to, who like me are Van Buuren fans, told me how mesmerized and happily surprised they were to see how Armin was "bringing it". My friend Julia who like me shares a great passi

Last Updated: Mar 6th, 2010 - 14:47:58  VETERANS' DAY Veterans' Day and Armistice DayNovember 11 By Sarah LaneNov 11, 2004, 06:00 PST Email this article Printer friendly page  The War to Begin all Wars It’s hard to imagine that World War I involved 35 countries. It lasted five years, from 1914 to 1918. The United States only fought from 1917 to 1918. A year was more than enough time, however, to claim too many lives, and people held tight to the notion that this was the very last war. When the fighting stopped, leaders of several countries signed an Armistice on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month. An Armistice is an agreement to stop all fighting, in other words a truce. This truce was signed on November 11th, 1918 at 11 A.M. This is important to know because Veterans' Day was originally called Armistice Day. This day was set aside to reflect and remember the sacrifices men and women made during World War I in order to ensure peace. The fi

Fool of armor, Fool of pride, This winded warrior brakes to hide. Theres no more battles, Theres no more sun, The wars are long over, Yet the armor stays on. Nothing dare nears him, With armor so thick, Made of his worries, his doubts, and some sticks. He looks for a home, A place just to rest, He seeks some comfort, For theres a void in his chest. No one can help him, Alone he stands free, A prisoner of himself and the bearer of the key. He stands with his armor, He's ready to duel, Theres no one to fight, He's just a useless fool.

"Yeah, something invariably gets through" He shrugs with a slight laugh as you notice all the holes torn through the armor's surface. It's an unlikely blend of Eastern and Western styles. Polished to a bright sheen, despite its scars. Though you do notice a hint of what may be rust, or even blood, flecked hither and yon. "Just the way it goes. It's as certain as death and taxes, really," he smiles, a silvery steel finger abscently tracing across the patchwork repairs over the heart of the breastplate. "Sure, it protects from the little things. Sticks. Stones. Crap like that. But get something sharp, in the right hands? Yeah. May as well be naked." "Eh?" "Why wear it then???!!!" "Ah. You don't think it protects very well." "You're wrong." "It's not there to protect me." "It's there to protect you."

Armpit Sniffer Gets Jail And Cane
SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singapore man with a penchant for sniffing women's armpits was sentenced to 14 years in jail and 18 strokes of the cane for molesting his victims, a local newspaper reported Friday. The 36-year-old, who the Straits Times said was mentally unstable, had previous convictions for drug and sex-related offenses. He molested 23 women over the course of 15 months, smelling their armpits and touching them in lifts, staircase landings and their homes, the paper said. He was caught after a housewife reported him to the police. The court meted out the jail term, normally reserved for hardcore criminals, saying the man was likely to commit crimes again, the paper reported. Caning on the buttocks is an additional punishment for male criminals in Singapore for offenses ranging from vandalism to illegal possession of drugs and rape. (Reporting by Melanie Lee, editing by M

Arms Of My Baby
I've been running around I gotta slow down and spend time with my man From city to city Pleasing the world but neglecting him Living on the road is so damn tough Talking on the phone is never enough I gotta back to the place that I'm used to And I feel like I need to be in the arms of my baby And I gotta find my way back home to my baby now I've been lacking affection Craving for the touch of his gentle hands So much love and devotion No matter what I go through he understands He sends me flowers but they don't compare To how he runs his fingers through my hair I gotta get back to the place that I'm used to And I feel like I need to be in the arms of my baby And I gotta find my way back home to my baby now Feels like I need my baby now Feels like I need my baby now Feels like I need my baby now Feels like I need my baby Oh I need him Oh I need him, yes I need him just to tell him that I love him And I ah ah ah ah Feel like I need to be in the arm
Arms Embracing The Sea>>poem For Donald
When Im resting on a beach, thinking of the sea. All is calm as waves, roll up toward me. I sit a long time, then I do walk , as the day drifts on and I wonder some. Sea gulls fly by and I see a blue sky. How I think God made all , and set it for my eyes , to see and to know all , Is beatiful to be hold. This world is a great wonder , fresh sea air to smell and breath, My God ,i feel now is nearer to me. The see is vast and streached across to another place . where I can,t go. but some day I know , Ill not be here to see the sea, and re-live any of my thoughts. As God is calling me home . But today I have wandered by the sea , and can live on thru My Christ, he saved me . for you Donald , hugs diana ty my dear friend.

....... ARMS ....... There's one place where we both can turn when things don't go are way. Or when we're tired from all the cares we face from day to day. A place where we know everything will somehow be okay~ Within the safety of each other's arms.... And that's forever the love we share has deepened, as it's grown, And brought us joy that's so much more than we had ever known~ For together we're much stronger than we each could be alone~ Within the safety of each other's arms..... With all my love.....
Arms Of Your Lover
Verse One: I know she hasn't always, been what you needed, she didn't always treat you like a man should be treated, but I can tell her love for you, is passionate and pure, so I suggest you think a second, before you walk out that door, because: Verse Two: I know right now it seems like, things are goin' bad, and its hard to see through it all and find the good you had, but the good still exists, lovers don't change that much, when troubles in the mist, love is usually the greatest crutch, so lean on your love, more than you've ever done before, embrace what you've got before its not yours anymore, Verse Three: She's got a genuine beauty, with a constant smile of grace, and her love is forever truly, the kind you can't replace, so when you start search the world, lookin' to discover, close your eyes and fall into the arms of your lover, Chorus: sometimes when it's over, it can never be again / and when you let go of her, your lettin' go a friend / so don'

The Arm Stump Story
Ok my next story involves my older half-sister Laurie who was EMT at the time. We were all down in Louisiana for the 4th of July and were having a big family get together, sitting around another half-sisters front yard grilling out, and Laurie' pagers goes off. There's an accident and she's on call, so she has to leave. The accident is pretty close to the house, so she goes straight there in her car, and when she gets there, a policeman is already on the scene. There is a car upside down in the ditch, apparently drove off the curve, and outside of the car laying in the ditch is a very dirty and very drunk 1 armed man. Scattered all about the area is hundreds of dollars. I don't know, maybe driving around with money piled up on your dashboard is the "in thing" now. The drunk is upset about his money and wants to get UP but the cop didn't want him to get off the ground, at least not until the EMT had checked him out. So the drunk is complaining "don't take mah 800 dollars" and the ve

Arm Wrestling Anyone?
Good Morning…with roaring bands of thunder overlapping my every move this morning I am glad to be inside. I do not recall a band of storms so hell bent on drenching southwestern Michigan in recent years or for sometime to be exact. Hell Bent…must mean meaner then a junk yard dog on habaneras. Well I see for once it is not America with egg on their faces…however we surely try daily to make the news of the shameless and recluse. I see where TOKYO JAPAN now has the right to claim those rights. The Story comes from the front page of MSN today TOKYO- Lose a game of chess to a computer, and you could bruise your ego. Lose an arm-wrestling match to a Japanese arcade machine, and you could break your arm. Distributor Atlus Co. said Tuesday it will remove all 150 "Arm Spirit" arm wrestling machines from Japanese arcades after three players broke their arms grappling with the machine's mechanized appendage. "The machine isn't that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be a

There are many nights that you lay there and cry yourself to sleep because he's not by your side. Yet at the same time you know that he is doing what he thinks is best for you and the little one. You don't want to let him see how much you are hurting but some days you just cant help it. Things were great before he left but now it seems as if your whole future is falling apart. Not sure if the distance is going to work or not but you do your best to make sure it does. So many people don't understand why he left...why didn't he wait until after the baby was born to join???? You try to explain but they still dont get it. Deep inside you know he did it so you and the little one are safe but you just want him home. Then you start to feel like he doesn't love you any more so you start second guessing your relationship. This only makes things harder so you finally say something to him about how you feel and realize that he does love you and want to be with you forever and that its ju

Army Nurse
Army Nurse A wounded soldier has a merciful nurse take really good care of him. Author Anonymous4. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The young soldier was alone in sick bay. Due to his recent accident, he hasn't been able to get into town on leave. Being young and male he was becoming super horny. Because of the normal lack of privacy in the ward, a guy couldn't even jerk off without the threat of being caught. The young man just couldn't take it any longer, he just had to have release, so after looking around carefully, and snagging a hand full of Kleenex he started to masturbate. Suddenly, Nurse Beverly walked in. "So how is my patient doing?" she asked in her sexy voice. Embarrassed the young soldier tensed at being caught, he began to blush, and just nodded his head in quite shame. "I think you need another examination!" She stood next to the bed, checking his pulse and blood pressure. "That doesn't look too good," sh

----------------- Bulletin Message ----------------- From: Randy Date: Oct 30, 2006 2:01 PM Army Monitors Soldiers'Blogs, Web SitesSunday, October 29, 2006 By MICHAEL FELBERBAUM, Associated Press WriterRICHMOND, Va. — From the front lines of Iraq and Afghanistan to here at home, soldiers blogging about military life are under the watchful eye of some of their own. A Virginia-based operation, the Army Web Risk Assessment Cell, monitors official and unofficial blogs and other Web sites for anything that may compromise security. The team scans for official documents, personal contact information and pictures of weapons or entrances to camps. In some cases, that information can be detrimental, said Lt. Col. Stephen Warnock, team leader and battalion commander of a Manassas-based Virginia National Guard unit working on the operation. In one incident, a blogger was describing his duties as a guard, providing pictures of his post and discussing how to exploit its vulnerabilit

Army Wife Creed
**Army Wife's Creed*** I am the wife of an American Soldier I am a supporter of the United States Army an encouragement for the protectors of the greatest nation on earth. Because I am proud of my husband and the uniform he wears, I will always act in ways creditable to him, the military service, and the nation he is sworn to guard. I am proud of my husband. I will do all I can to protect and provide for my family in his absence. I will be loyal to my husband and to the vows that we made as we entered into the covenant of marriage. I will do my full part to carry on the values and goals we have set apart for our family and I will continue to instruct our children in the same manner. As a soldier's wife, I realize that I play a vital role in my husband's decision to become a member of a time-honored profession- that I am doing my share to keep alive the principles of freedom for which my country stands. No matter what situation I am in, I will never do anything, for pleasure, profit
An Army Wifes Prayer
A Army Wife's Prayer Give me greatness of heart to see, The difference between duty and his love for me. Give me understanding so that I may know, When duty calls him, he must go. Give me a task to do each day, To fill the time when he's away. When he's in a foreign land, Keep him safe in your loving hand. And Lord, when duty is in the field, Please protect him and be his shield. And Lord, when deployment is so long, Please stay with me and keep me strong.
Army: 'we Have A Story To Tell'
The U.S. Army has never had a national museum to focus on the history and heritage of the American soldier. It has never had one central location where visitors could learn and appreciate the Army’s role in our nation’s development. This is about to change. The National Museum of the United States Army is now under design and is destined to become the best military museum experience in the country. Located at Fort Belvoir, Va., just south of the nation’s capital and minutes from Mount Vernon, the Army’s National Museum will portray and preserve the Army’s unique heritage, both as an institution and as one of the cornerstones of American democracy. The state-of-the-art facility will illustrate how the Army’s history is intricately interwoven through all aspects of the American experience. Through interactive exhibits, educational programs, and simulation displays, the Museum will educate a million visitors annually. Personal soldier accounts of service and sacrifice will offe

The Army Wife We are proud to be Americans But more than that we are proud of you. We do not wear the brown and green Or answer to a sergeants call. We do not wear our rank on our shoulder, But we are every bit an American Soldier. We dont have the luxury of proper training. We arent given any preparation time. We didnt sign on the dotted line, But we are now contracted for life. We dont march in cadence or salute When an officer walks by. We stand among the silent ranks Our devotion is absolute. At home alone we stay, Our life is defined by the Armys way. We take the loneliness in strife, Its part of being a soldiers wife. We dont go off to war or carry a gun, But the days we live are no more fun. We are not given orders or sent to the front line, Our role in this war is harder to define. We must smile to hide our tears And laugh to cover all of our fears. We hold our heads high as we watch them leave And wait for the calls and letters we hope well re

Army Hymn
Over hill, over dale As we hit the dusty trail, And the Caissons go rolling along. In and out, hear them shout, Counter march and right about, And the Caissons go rolling along. Then it's hi! hi! hee! In the field artillery, Shout out your numbers loud and strong, For where e'er you go, You will always know That the Caissons go rolling along. In the storm, in the night, Action left or action right See those Caissons go rolling along Limber front, limber rear, Prepare to mount your cannoneer And those Caissons go rolling along. Then it's hi! hi! hee! In the field artillery, Shout out your numbers loud and strong, For where e'er you go, You will always know That the Caissons go rolling along. Was it high, was it low, Where the hell did that one go? As those Caissons go rolling along Was it left, was it right, Now we won't get home tonight And those Caissons go rolling along. Then it's hi! hi! hee! In the field artillery, Shout out your numbers

Army Girlfriend
Army Girlfriend by Rosemary Olenski Everyone hears of the Army Wife, Her trials, sacrifices, and devoted life. She is strong, she is brave, and she is loving indeed, Standing by her man in his time of need. But what of others in a similar situation, Who have made being an Army girlfriend their main occupation? They suffer many of the same trials and many of the same fears Without the security of future years. Will there be peace or will there be war? You try to be hopeful but it's hard to ignore. The world seems to be falling apart When to a soldier you have given your heart. Your love runs too deep to escape from it now. You hope to be together somewhere, somehow, When his duty is over and your life can begin. You wonder if it will happen but don't question when. The many heartbreaks and times you did weep When he made promises the Army couldn't keep. But you have learned so much together and come so far. Others warned you not to fall in love but you alr

Army Reservists Return To Puerto Rico From Iraq
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico (AP) -- More than 100 U.S. Army reservists returned from Iraq this week, grateful they made it out of what they described as an increasingly dangerous country and into the arms of their loved ones. Relatives of those belonging to the 432nd Transportation Company also were filled with relief as they were reunited Tuesday on a baseball field at a military base in Puerto Rico. "I feel relaxed now. No more tension," said Manuel Martinez, husband of Sgt. Doris Ayala, 29, who toted a blue gift bag stuffed with toy cars for their son, Gian Ayala, of the northeastern town of Rio Grande. A cheering crowd greeted the 130 soldiers, some carrying American or Puerto Rican flags, at Fort Buchanan, an Army base outside the capital, San Juan. A separate party on the base welcomed dozens of soldiers from another reserve unit, the 393rd Corps Support Battalion, who also returned from Iraq. Twenty-four soldiers from Puerto Rico have been killed in the Iraq war, including

Army Soldier Goes Missing!!!
The Army decided to test out the new uniforms but unfortunately the test subject went missing the night before he was due to the testing site. Upon speaking to his wife she stated "The last thing I remember saying to him was asking him to clean out the garage." A man hunt will go into effect later today if the missing soldier does not return to his squad by 1300. With all the sad reports going on today i had to do something that made people smile. Soldiers dont want to hear about losses every day. We know we've lost our battle buddies. I miss mine all the time. But we need a smile here and there.

Army Wife Blues.
I know that I have not put in a blog yet but I dont like to babble on about nothing. But here is a vent... My husband joined the Army shortly after we got married and now we are still in the States as he traines to go over to Iraq. He is gone for a wekk at a time and I know that they are doing this to get the guys and the wives ready for the sepertaion but it still sucks. He got his orders that he is leaving in Dec which means he will at least be able to see our child born in Aug. But then he will be gone for 15 months. The waiting is unreal. I know that he is not gone yet but at times I feel like he is. I can feel him wanting to pull away from me in a way so that maybe I will miss him less. I am so scared that when he leaves I will never see him again. I cry myself to sleep sometimes becasue I can't seem to get the thoughts out of my head. I know that they are training him to do things that he will never talk to me about but I wish he could in some way.

We’ll carry your things for a moment But you’ll take them back, because you feel the need. You’ll stare for a moment, It’s been so long. You’ll be stiff for a moment, The hugs are new and strange. You’ll cry for a moment You’re home again, how good that feels you’ll never be able to explain. You’ll laugh for a moment At our emotional few seconds. You’ll sigh for a moment, Looking back at you’re fear bonded friends. You’ll be silent for a moment, Trying to take it all in. You’ll be empty handed for a moment, Because you don’t know what to do. Well I went and had my physical Friday so I could get into the Army....that was a nightmare, but I passed and that is all that matters. After my physical I sat down with someone to pick my job and to find out when I leave for basic training. Well the job I picked was my second choice cause the first choice wasn't available to me which sucks but thats ok so I went for the next thing I wanted to do and that was a 63B which is a light wheel vehicle mechanic working on any vehicle less than 5 tons. Then he told me what my ship date was and that was June 21, 2007 only 11 days away but the night before i have to go back to MEPS and do everything all over again just so they can make sure that everything is still the same and no pending court hearings or traffic tickets and all that good stuff. I leave for basic training on the 21st and that is 9 weeks long I am going to Ft. Jackson, SC and from there I will be going somewhere in Maryland for my AIT which is training on the job that I picked,

Army Wives Tv Show
Okay this really bugged me. I caught an episode of the show Army wives. It had actors I liked in it, it was a show concept that interested me, and I have a lot of time on my hands for the next couple weeks. The show really pissed me off. Some shows have low budgets, poor concepts (a show on the geico cavemen, come on) poor actors, or just don’t have anywhere for it to go. (Are you willing to watch the same guys try and break out of prison for 5 years?) This show, however, had it all. Good actors, a great concept, there are so many places you can take it, and pretty much a built in audience. If you make anything about the military, Joes will watch it. It is that simple. Take that show ‘Over There” about being in Iraq. I have never been in Iraq and I don’t claim to know what it is like, but in most of the characters you can see people you know in it. The hard ass sergeant, the book smart kid that doesn’t really fit into an infantry unit, the punk from the hood with an attitude, s
Army Wives
The average age of the military wife/girlfriend is 20 years old. She isn't old enough to buy a beer, but is old enough to manage a whole household on her own and maybe she has a kid or two. She probably never saw herself loving a man who was in the military, but she loves him regardless. Her penmanship has improved over the last few months, due to the excessive letter writing she has been doing. She cries a lot, because she misses the man she swore to love. Her life isn't complete without him. She looks very tired, because of her many nights without sleep, due to a late night phone call that never came or a call that came and kept her up all night, just because she heard his voice, she is too overjoyed to sleep. As a wife, she is classified as a dependent, but she is totally independent. She tends to her household, her kids, her school work, and her job, all without her husband/boyfriend. She manages to wear a smile, even though inside she's crying.

Army Mission In Northern Ireland Finally Over
The army's operation in Northern Ireland comes to an end Wednesday after nearly four decades, another symbolic milestone on the path to peace in the long-troubled province. The military landmark, from midnight (2300 GMT) Tuesday, comes two months after self-rule was restored in Belfast following a historic power-sharing deal between former Protestant and Catholic foes. Operation Banner, at 38 years the army's longest-ever continuous campaign, saw more than 300,000 personnel serving, over 6,000 injured and 763 killed by paramilitaries during the bleak years of terrorism and sectarian bloodshed. I finally finished my re-enlistment! I leave on August 27th for AIT, and should be at my home duty station by November. I wont know where I'm going to for a few weeks yet, so I don't know when I'll be online again after I leave. Thanks to everyone who has supported me in this! I love you all! Go Army!
The Army
First I would like to say that Neither myself or my husband owe anyone an explination for the choices we make. I will however lay this to rest now. My husband has always wanted to join the military. This was his lifes dream. I however could not accept this and persistantly prevented him from doing so. After ten years he has finally come up with the winning argument. We went for a long ride as thats how we "talk" out our issues. Yes i know its fucked up that we have to trap ourselves in a vehicle together to get things really worked out. Anyways on this ride he said to me that every day he wakes up there is a 50/50 chance that he will die. We never really know. He said that if he were to die tommorow it would have been without honor or pride. That he would have died having never fulfilled his dreams. That he felt as if he had wasted 10 years doing "other" things. He said that he didnt like the idea of something happening to him and leaving his family behind for nothing. My husband

The Army
You've all heard me say I dislike the Army. I do dislike them not the people in the Army but the Army itself. It's service rivalry they will say the same. Some chick who I won't name I won't mention because I'm not into dropping dimes is trying to make me look bad because of this. I even got respect for Sgt Ski. I even said that publicly. Ask his father. I just don't like the Army for my own reasons. And no sometimes I don't like the Marine Corps either but I love what I do and I love my job very very much. Hence the reason I reenlisted. I've missed out on a lot of my life and my families life because of my service but I wouldn't trade my time in for anything. The friends I've met and lost in the service mean the world to me. Marines technically aren't soldiers and a lot of people know that and a lot don't. But don't spread hate about me because I don't get along with a certain military branch. We are all fighting the good fight. I don't know what her problem is maybe its because she t
Army Seven Core Values
1. Loyalty is the faithful adherence to a person, unit, or Army. It is the thread that binds our actions together and causes us to support each other, our superiors, our family, and our country. Supporting a superior or a program even though it is being openly criticized by peers or subordinates requires courage and loyalty. A loyal intermediate would try to explain the rationale behind the decision and support the decision maker. When we establish loyalty to our soldiers, the unit, our superiors, our family, and the Army we must be sure the "correct ordering" of our obligations are being accomplished and not the easiest. There is no clear rule as to which comes first. Sometimes it will be the service, sometimes the family, and sometimes the soldier. Open criticism and being disloyal to leaders, soldiers, and the Army destroys the foundation of the organization and results in diminished mission accomplishment. However, loyalty should not be confused with blind
Army’s ‘quick Ship’ Bonus Proves Popular
Army’s ‘quick ship’ bonus proves popular Recruits receive $20,000 if they agree to leave within days Before future soldier Tyka Petty, right, leaves for basic training, she meets with U.S. Army recruiter Sgt. Harry Harper at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Upper Darby, Pa., on Aug. 8. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20453080/ By Josh White Updated: 10:53 p.m. ET Aug 26, 2007 More than 90 percent of the Army's new recruits since late July have accepted a $20,000 "quick ship" bonus to leave for basic combat training by the end of September, putting thousands of Americans into uniform almost immediately. Many recruits who take the bonus -- scoring in many cases the equivalent of more than a year's pay -- leave their homes within days, recruiters said. The initiative is part of an effort by Army officials to meet year-end recruiting goals after a two-month slump earlier this year. With the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, the Army hopes the extra cash motivates tho

However it's spelled, leave it to the fricking army to f**k over, or trying to, my husband who went to iraq for thier sorry asses AND was injured and thanks to THEM he never got his injury corrected so NOW he has a perm. profile yet THEY want to give him to run around and try and chapter him out instead of med boarding him for a reclass or to get out. PLEASE keep us in your prayers as we try and get this straight we are on a tight schedule and time is running out. These JERKS are trying to get rid of him by the end of this month. How's that for a thank you for serving your country??!!?? He risked his life had to stay a year away from his kids and me and this is the thanks he gets??!??GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Well, they can bite me and shove it because I KNOW the laws and WHO to talk to in order to get this resolved the way it NEEDS to be resolved. Anyhow, if we aren't on for awhile, now you will know why. Thanks for letting me vent.
Army Stuff
Ok, so as many of you know I've been in the army for 4 years now. Here's my dillema. I just recently had a baby. I also ended things with my husband. So now I'm a single mother with a two month old baby and a full time army job. I have the opportunity to get out of the army right now and keep my benefits. I would be able to avoid deployments and spend more time with my daughter. Or i could stay in and have a guaranteed job with benefits for my child, but possibly deploy. What do i do? Stay in or get out? I can't decide.

Army Life
Last night I had a dream about what would have happened had I not made certain decision during my military career. I will not discuss what actually happened in my dream or what I did in the military. But needless to say I'm proud of the sacrifices I made. Not proud of some of the things I did, but they had to be done. If not by me, then by someone else. Alot of people enjoy the freedom that soldiers have sacrificed to preserve for them. Men and women die everyday in countries around the world because they to want the freedoms you enjoy so much. Yet only about 10% of the people in the United States are willing to enlist. I made many sacrifices during my time in the military and made alot of decision that affect my life now as a civilian. I served my country well and in the end got shafted. If the public knew what many men and women in uniform have sacrificed to give them the freedoms they take for granted and understood that those men and women did it without hesitating maybe

Army Poem
How does a soldier feel fighting a war? Does he always know what he is fighting for? Maybe he knows but doesn't understand, why he is alone in a faraway land. Like so many others he is there for a cause, And like the rest he doesn't pause. He has a job that he does well, even as his best friend beside him fell. How does he feel when he hears the news, of violent protests from the ignorant few? His shame is great, the pain goes deep he feels compassion for the dead at his feet. Rioters can boast and carry signs, about the war that has shook our time. But when the call comes for them to go, they burn their draft cards and make a show. How can a soldier be proud of his land, when this type of people make a stand? How can we show him we are glad he is there, fighting for freedom and the ones who care? War is unfair in any way of life, and all involved must pay the price. But the soldier is proud to keep us free, stop and think.......... Shouldn't you be?
Army Supply 'chaos' Proved Fatal
Army supply 'chaos' proved fatal A coroner has ruled that an Army logistics failure led to the unlawful killing of a Scottish soldier in Iraq. Gordon Gentle, 19, of the Royal Highland Fusiliers (RHF), was killed by a roadside bomb in Basra in June 2004. Selena Lynch, assistant deputy coroner, said it was probable the bomb would not have detonated had disabling device Element B been fitted. Fusilier Gentle's mother Rose, 43, from Glasgow, said justice had been done and the truth had come out. "I fought for that," she said. "I said I wouldn't give up and I didn't. My son should be here today. "They have deprived me of a beautiful son and deprived two sisters of their brother. We were immensely saddened at his loss ... and we deeply regret the series of events that contributed to it Ministry of Defence spokesman "I'm proud of Gordon but I am disgusted at the way he was treated. Army Wife ~ Dana L. Self
Army Wife By Dana L. Self This is for the young women that are waking up at 6 A.m. Every morning, laying out clothes and packing Three lunches for those small precious children that They have been left alone to care for. This is for the pregnant Army wife wondering if her Husband will make it home in time to watch their Miracle happen. This is for the childless Army wife, living in a town Or on a base alone where she is a complete stranger to Her surroundings. This is for the women that feel like a third leg when They go out with their friends and their husbands. This is for the Army wife that canceled all her plans To wait by the phone, and even though the phone broke Up and cut off every time you spoke to him, you waited Anyway. This is a pledge to the women that cry themselves to Sleep in an empty bed. This is to recognize the woman that felt like she was Dying inside when he said he had to go, but smiled for Him anyw
Army Green (something I Wrote Awhile Ago)
Mommy's crying Daddy's left again I felt him kiss my forehead last night I couldn't open my eyes Not wanting to say goodbye I told mommy it's okay He'll be back again some day Not soon enough She always seemed to say I'm proud of my daddy Proud to say he fights for us every day You see, my daddy is a soldier I feel the wind in my hair As he holds me even tighter The sun kissing my skin It's not the same goodbye as before I can barely stand here long enough To watch him board that plane And every night I pray It's been weeks since I've heard his voice As I pick up the phone and hear him speak Smiling, my tears fall Upon the letter I got last week Written with special care And signed Love always, your soldier I glance at the mantel My son's picture standing out I raised him right I raised him proud Now he stands out amongst the crowd Dressed up head to toe Standing proud in his camouflage Now I just pray the phone doesn't ring I've been worried sinc
Army Dude!
A young man joined the Army and signed up to be a paratrooper. He went through the standard training, completed the practice jumps from higher and higher structures and finally went to take his first jump from an airplane. The next day he called home to tell his father the news. "So, did you jump?", asked the father. "Well, let me tell you what happened. We got up in the plane, and the sergeant opened up the door and asked for volunteers. About a dozen men got up and just walked out of the plane." "Is that when you jumped?" asked his father. "Uh, no, I didn't. The sergeant started to grab the other men one at a time and throw them out the plane." "Did you jump then?" asked his father. "I'm getting to that. Everyone else had jumped and I was the last man left on the plane. I told the sergeant that I was too scared to jump. He told me to get off the plane or he'd kick my butt." "So, did you jump?", the father again asked. "No!!! He tried to push me out of th

Army Drab
My husband wore his Army uniform with pride. One day, coming home from the base and dressed in olive drab fatigues, he stopped off at the grocery store to pick up a few things. While in line at the check out counter, he noticed a little boy standing with his Mother. The boy took one look at my husband in his uniform, and his eyes grew wide. My husband in turn gave the young man a crisp salute. The boy was so excited. He pointed at my husband and announced," Look Mom! A Giant Boy Scout!"

Army Of Darkness
Army of Darkness - 1992 Bound in human flesh, inked in blood, and amazingly hard to pronounce, the ancient necronomicon, or Book of the Dead, unleashes unspeakable evil upon mankind in director Sam Raimi's outrageously hilarious sword and sorcery epic. Back to do battle with the hideous "deadites," Bruce Campbell reprises his role from the EVIL DEAD series as Ash, the handsome, shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed department store clerk from S-Mart's housewares division. Demonic forces time-warp him - and his '73 oldsmobile - into England's dark ages, where he romances a beauty (Embeth Davidtz) and faces legions of un-dead beasts, including a ghastly army of skeletons. Can Ash save the living from the evil dead, rescue his girlfriend, and get back to his own time? Overflowing with spectacular special effects, ARMY OF DARKNESS will make you scream with fear and laughter. Anyone who is familiar with the Evil Dead series will have a jump start on understanding this crazy movi

During the Christian era, particularly after the beginning of the systematic persecution of Witches in 1484, almost all the public expression of the Craft disappeared. Surviving in hidden and isolated places, Witchcraft has made a comeback in the twentieth century, partially spurred by the repeal of the last British Witchcraft Laws in 1951. Current World Leadersh

Well I found out that most if not all of the things my recruiter told me were complete lies. I decided not to go into the army and so didn't show for my ship date. I felt it was the right choice for me. Anyone who knows me, really knows me knows I absolutely hate lies. If I give my word then I fully intend to keep it. Unless it directly affects my children. I strictly said I did not want a job that would put me on the roads in iraq. Guess what he didn't tell me? Yep, I'd be in transport. Well I felt it was too much of a risk, considering I have two small children who expect their mommy to come home in one piece. The day I was supposed to show up for ship day is when it all began. They sent recruiters to my mom's house, ones I didn't even recognize. The first one I didn't speak to and instructed my mom to say I wasn't there. Then I left my car and went to stay with a friend. Later that night my recruiter and another showed back up at my mom's when I wasn't there. They harassed my mom fo

The Army Is A 4 Letter Word
So, I am so angry at the army that I skipped the entire chain of command and wrote a letter to the Colonel. The beauty of being a wife is that I have no one to answer to. So he responded immediately to my first e-mail and encouraged me to continue relaying my concerns, so I wrote him another lengthy e-mail. I explained everything. It's not hard to look at my husbands record and see that I am neither lying or kidding about the things I told him. Of course, his answer to the second e-mail was so vague that none of my issues were explained, and it almost sounded like a "sucks to be you" reply, although he said he started an inquiry. Yesterday, my husband got the results of his latest heart test and his back MRI. Now mind you, back in April the docs said the back wall of his heart was weak, and in '03 he was diagnosed with Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease. Yesterday the doc told him that his left heart ventricle was dilated, but it was "nothing to worry about", and his back "had a bulge

Army Poem
ARMY PRAYER Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my sanity to keep. For if some peace I do not find, I'm pretty sure I'll lose my mind. I pray I find a little quiet Far from the daily family riot May I lie back--not have to think about what they're stuffing down the sink, or who they're with, or where they're at and what they're doing to the cat. I pray for time all to myself (did something just fall off a shelf?) To cuddle in my nice, soft bed (Oh no, another goldfish--dead!) Some silent moments for goodness sake (Did I just hear a window break?) And that I need not cook or clean-- (well heck, I've got the right to dream) Yes now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my wits about me keep, But as I look around I know-- I must have lost them long ago!

American Heroes In my life I’ve never seen the face of war or what it brings. For there are those whom gave their lives for my freedom for my rights. I don’t know their names and I could only imagine their faces as they head off to fight in far away places. American Heroes are they all. Protecting ‘Ol Glory as she stands proud and tall. And for those who didn’t return the eternal flame shall forever burn. American Heroes of the past memories of your actions shall forever last. They are Americas’ Sons and Americas’ Daughters. Proudly serving to protect our borders. American Heroes are they all defending freedom for one and all. May God Bless Our Troops!

THE MODEL MILITARY SPOUSE – GOD CREATED The good Lord was creating a model for military spouses and was into his sixth day of over-time when an angel appeared. She said, Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one. What’s wrong with the standard model? The Lord replied, Have you seen the specs on this order? They need to be completely independent, possess the qualities of both father and mother, be a perfect host/hostess to four or 40 with an hour’s notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, even if they are pregnant and have the flu; and they must be willing to move to a new location 10 times in 17 years. And, oh yes, they must have six pairs of hands. The angel shook her head. Six pairs of hands? No way. The Lord continued, Don’t worry, we will make other military spouses to help them. And we will give them an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in their spouse’s achievements,

DEPLOYMENT So many miles away he stands strong in my heart. Such an aching I've felt since he had to depart. They called giving him only a few days to get ready to leave. A trip that would take him far away from his family. The following days would move so fast, No matter how hard we tried to make them last. So on that day he walked on the bus and waved goodbye. As our children and I just stood there and cried. A father, a husband, much more than just a friend. Was this to be a beginning or simply an end? So much uncertainty, so much we did not know. Not wanting to, but having to let go. Now as the months seem to pass us by. It's not any easier, we still need to cry. Our love made even stronger by this war. I dream of him so often walking back through that door. I hear his voice, but only through a phone. My heart is aching, I feel so alone. Although I feel so much pain. I know this war was not fought in vain. I watch the people cheer as the ruler was taken down.
Army Poems
I LOVE A SOLDIER I love a soldier With all of my heart. I see him almost never; We are always apart. We may not be together but love does not give in. To let something like this go would be such a sin. He is courageous and He is a man, Protecting his country as best as he can. The last time I saw him? Seven months past. But I feel his love for me and know it will last. Perhaps there will be peace; Perhaps there will not. I hold on to hope; It's all that I've got. My love for him grows. It gets stronger each day. The distance between us can't hold it at bay. He calls; I write. We both hold on with all of our might. I cry often, I will not lie. Sometimes smiling is hard, But I sure do try. I love. I hope. I dream. I cope. His heart is strong; His feelings are true. He loves me and I love him too. Yes, I love a soldier and though we are apart, We're always together-- Together at heart

A Poem For Military Spouses As I stood in the doorway, I watched you pack your bag. You said good bye as tears spilled down my cheeks. The door shut and you were gone. My heart broke into a million little pieces. I think I may have stepped on some. I thought for a moment the world had stopped spinning and life as I knew it had come to a standstill. Our dogs howled and I held them close. It was then that I realized the world was still spinning. The phone rang. The bills came. The car broke down. I stood in the living room up to my ankles in toys. Darn that Lego hurt! Hands on my head, the world was spinning faster. I must get back on. What in the world did I do with that bottle of aspirin? Oh I believe he took it with him. Dinner time. I look at the empty place at the table. Not only is my heart broken. It is angry. I ask God "Why?" "Why did they have to take him this time? Can't they take someone else?" God in all his infinite wisdom replied "I have chosen y
Army Poems
The Silent Ranks I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens. But I am in the military in the ranks that are rarely seen. I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do no give, but the military world is the place where I live. I am not in the chain of command orders I do not get, but my husband does this I can no forget. I am not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line, but my job is just as tough I am the one that is left behind. My husband is a patriot a brave and pride filled man. And the call to serve his country not all understands. Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free. My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me. I love the man I married. Soldiering is his life, but I stand among the silent ranks known as the military wife.

Army Fired 11 Soldiers As Openly Gay
Source: yahoo.com Quote: "WASHINGTON - The Army fired 11 soldiers in January for violating the military's policy that gay service members must keep their sexuality hidden, according to a Virginia congressman. Democratic Rep. Jim Moran said he has requested monthly updates from the Pentagon on the impact of the policy until it is repealed. In a statement released on Thursday, Moran said the discharged soldiers included an intelligence collector, a military police officer, four infantry personnel, a health care specialist, a motor-transport operator and a water-treatment specialist. "How many more good soldiers are we willing to lose due to a bad policy that makes us less safe and secure?"..."

The Army Wife Prayer
Dear Lord, Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between duty and his love for me. Give me understanding that I may know, when duty calls him he must go. Give me a task to do each day, to fill the time when he's away. And Lord, when he's in a foreign land, keep him safe in your loving hand. And Lord, when duty is in the field, please protect him and be his shield. And Lord, when deployment is so long, please stay with me and keep me strong.

Army Mom's Prayer~ Please Dear God, Return Him Home Safely~
For You My Son Chad~ I held you as an infant; I hugged you as a boy and through the years you have become my greatest pride and joy. I love you more than I can say, your life more precious than my own, but gone are the whims and notions of my little boy that I had known. For the years have passed so quickly since the time it all began and now you stand before me with the conviction of a man. You wanted to serve our country, you stated with pride as I try to sort out the emotions that I'm feeling deep inside... A union of the uncertain fear, which I cannot control and the allegiance which lies deep within my patriotic soul. I trust that my years of guidance will serve as a strong foundation as you perform the duties requested from this beloved nation. God please, please, I beg you, guide him as he travels to the places our soldiers have bled and walk with him through pathways where those heroes' feet have tread. Oh Sweet Land of Liberty, humbly I giv

Army Of The Dead
Army of the Dead~~~~~~~~~~~~~~An inexplicable phenomenon,Has changed rot into rebirth. The dead have risen from their sleep,And now they walk the Earth. They have invaded every city,Upon bloodstained streets they tread.Onward they march tirelessly,The army of the dead.Devouring all that lives and breathes, Then recruiting their fallen prey.Their ranks grow exponentially,With every passing day.Frustration and exhaustion,Hope replaced with dread.Never a moment of respite,From the army of the dead.Running low on food and ammo,And yet more of them arrive.I have no choice but to face the truth. There's no chance I will survive. As I hear them breaking through the door,There's no more to be said.Soon I'll be marching onward,With the army of the dead.
