1/4 cup light molasses 1/4 cup dark corn syrup 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon instant coffee powder, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 egg yolks 1/2 cup finely ground almonds 1 cup fresh bread crumbs, finely ground 1/3 cup Dutch cocoa 4 egg whites, at room temperature 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 9" springform pan with parchment paper; spray lightly with cooking spray. In small saucepan, combine molasses, corn syrup, brown sugar, diluted coffee, bourbon & vanilla extract. Stir well & place over medium heat. Cook 1 to 2 minutes or until melted & syrupy. Do not boil. Remove from heat. In small bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat egg yolks about 2 minutes or until thick & lemon-colored. 2 lbs. uncooked shrimp, shelled and deveined 1 c. sifted regular flour 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. water 2 tbsp. shortening, melted 1 egg Oil for deep frying With a sharp knife slit shrimp deeply down back without cutting all the way through. Wash shrimp thoroughly and dry between paper towels. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in bowl. Add water, melted shortening and egg, beat until smooth. Dip shrimp, a few at a time, in batter. Fry in deep fat heat to 375 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Number of servings 4.

This hearty salad combines white kidney beans, potatoes, and all kinds of peppers and onions. Ingredients 14 medium red potatoes 1/4 C. olive oil 2 cloves garlic, crushed 2 Tbs. Dijon mustard 2 C. shredded red cabbage 1 (11 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained 1 large red onion, diced 1 red bell pepper, diced 1 green bell pepper, diced 1 yellow bell pepper, diced 1 cucumber, diced 1 (15.5 oz.) can white kidney or cannelini beans, rinsed and drained (optional) 1/2 C. grated Romano cheese salt and ground black pepper to taste Directions Place the potatoes in a large pot with enough lightly salted water to cover. 2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/2 cup butter, reduced-calorie 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch 4 packages Sweet 'n Low sweetener, or Equal 3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice Melt butter over low heat. Fresh Apple Cake 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 2 1/2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon salt 3 cups apples, chopped 1 teaspoon vanilla Topping: 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 stick butter 1/2 cup nuts, chopped 3 teaspoons milk Blend oil and sugar together. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. TO MAKE TOPPING: Place all ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil. Cook until soft ball stage (234 degrees). Pour topping over warm cake.

Fricase De Pollo Recipe
I remember my Cuban grandmother's chicken fricase being very much like this one! 4 lbs chicken fryer cut in 8 pieces 6 garlic cloves, cut up 1/2 cup sour orange juice (or mix half-half lime and orange) 1 lg onion sliced 1 lg bell pepper sliced 1 small can tomato sauce Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste 1 small can Petit Pois (English Peas) 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup raisins 1/4 cup sliced pimiento filled olives 1 tsp capers 1 cup dry Sherry Wine (*) 1 lb potatoes, peeled and quartered Marinade chicken pieces in garlic cloves, citrus juice, onion and bell pepper for at least one hour. Heat oil and brown chicken. Add onion, pepper and citrus from the marinade. Add tomato sauce, raisins, olives, capers, Sherry, salt & pepper. Add water to cover the chicken. Add the potato pieces in the last 20 minutes of cooking. Add the can of small peas just before serving. Wonderful over fluffy white rice. Hi All, Just what we needed, another place to rant! I usually post jokes in my blog area of MySpace and I expect that I will put some in here as time goes on. I followed some MySpace people over to Lost Cherry about a month ago because the area that we frequented on MySpace was being over-run by kids that were quite rude and very immature. I have been very surprised with LC in how friendly everyone is here. I have amassed over 120 friends in a month and all of them have been really nice people. WoooooHoooooo!! Got off of work a few minutes ago. Done for the day, until Wednesday!! Have nothing planned at all!!! But, someone thought I said I was going out, when asked what I was doing tonight! Didn't like it sooooo much either!! I had to explain that I said my room mate was going out. Made him a little bit on the nervous side, I do believe!! Never hurts to shake things up!! Yeah, I can't get enough. I had to go to the high school football game tonight. Actually, I really did. You see, the high school I went to and graduated from is the next town over. My daughter, of course, goes to the high school here. They play each other once a year (unless they face off in the playoffs). It has turned into such a rivalry over the years. The trash talk is hilarious. Anyways, my high school beat my daughter's high school - again. 35 - 10. Actually my high school is 2x defending state champs, and they are very hard to beat. On top of that, my cousin plays on my high school's team. He is a Junior, and he has yet to lose a high school football game - undefeated the last 2 years and still going strong. It's very cool.

well, where to start.. I have always had a dream of singing in a band.. even in someones basement/garage. tonight I got my chance, and I did AWESOME!! the music.. alternative rock, with lots of harmony, the band needed backup singers.. I outdid 4 other girls,..and I am sitting there watching the others... thinking "finally, It's going to happen for me" and you know what? The bubble burst.."... you don't look the part" HUH? 'too old, too big, too loud, you should try chanteuse kinda music.' They picked this little girl who had an ok voice, and big knockers.. oh well.... back to the drawing board.. if I had the wherewithall..I would do my own thing. The Friday That Sucked Out My Brains...
Even minor holiday weekends suck. Especially when the store is severely understaffed. I came in, tried to clock in, got an error. I tried again, another error. I tried to to into the system manually and it said my user ID was invalid. I ended up not actually clocking in 6 times, and out twice. Help Desk was unavailable. By the time Help Desk returned my call, it was almost time to open the store. Turns out the POS manager ERASED ME FROM THE SYSTEM RANDOMLY! I had to put myself back in the system then fix my clock in/out times. Right after opening, the UPS guy brought me 10 more cases of transfers. All transfers have to be scanned [each item] and uploaded into the registers. After my second case, I stopped to ring up a customer who was in a hurry. I swiped her card and got an error. I checked all my connections, swiped again, and got another error. I tried Help Desk and got the busy message again. I said I would have to restart the registers and it would take 10 minutes, and she

I have never been superstition at all so I didn't think much of it when I had a black cat cross my path this morning, or yesterday when we had a rain storm and one of the kids was running around the house with an umbrella that I took from them to close.
