A NEW DIET. Yesterday I was buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for Athena, the wonder dog, at Wal-Mart and was about to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had -- an elephant? So since I'm retired, with little to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again. New Day!
Started a new diet 8 days ago....or so they say...I say I started 15 days ago....guess depends on how I look at it. I joined a weightloss clinic and did 7 days of preconditioning and lost 5 lbs. Yipeee! Then I did the diet for 2 days lost 1.5 lbs and then I did it for 3 days and gained .5 lbs. (Salt is bad!) So I cut salt for 3 days and lost 3 lbs. This means I am excited to say I have lost 9 lbs all together. Which is a good dent into the 72 lbs I am to loose by September 8th. Only 63 more lbs. LOL Today I started excercising on my eliptical again - did 15 minutes. Doesn't sound like a lot but it was for me since I haven't used it for a month or so. Goal is to do it everyday. This is a different diet for me. I am learning what portions look like and learning about using vitamins to keep me healthy. I really hope this beacomes are real lifestyle change. New Due Date!!!!
Just an update to let everyone know what has been going on......I had a Dr. appointment on April 27th and he finally ordered me a sonogram. According to the first one I had at Choices my due date was June 19th...I should be 34 weeks along. Well....according to the sono at the hospital I was measuring 33 weeks and 4 days. They gave me a due date of June 7th! So she may be here a lot earlier than we expected. And yes, this sono still says it's going to be a girl.

I got a new dog, it is a Malti-poo mix. She is adorable or will be when her hair is grown out. I still can't believe someone would throw her out on a highway. She is house-trained and about 2 years old. A police officer rescued her and gave her to a friend who is a another police officers wife. She gave her to me, because she knew her husband would not let her keep the dog. Like a sucker for dogs, I took her. A co-worker at the jail kept asking me about the dog. Ok today is a new day..... I had a really bad week..I decieded to approach today with a new attitude. Things in my personal life have been kind of up and down but it could be so much worse. New Doctor!
So, as some folks might know, I found a new doctor last week. I had my appt with him today, as he is a primary care doc that also deals in internal medicine. I figured this might be able to allow me only one doctor for my health issues. Well, he looked at my medical records and was floored. It was basically too complex of a group of problems for him to understand fully. He told me it was beyond his limited knowledge in gastroenterology. He told me I need a specialist to receive proper care. Nice thing was he was honest and did not charge me for the visit. So now I'm back to square one in getting help again. I found a group of digestive specialists in Valparaiso, about 20 miles away. Hopefully, I can get in there soon, and will call them first thing in the morning. **EDIT** Got in touch with new clinic....next available appt. is June 16th.... :( This is not cool at all.

New Doctor And Revelation!
I ended up getting a sooner appointment due to a cancellation, and that appointment was yesterday. I brought in all my medical documentation and medications, and sat down with the new gastro. specialist. He asked me to explain my issues, starting from the beginning. After talking about it all, he reviewed my records and did an exam, to feel for pain or any other issues. It was funny because he told me to acknowledge any pain I felt, and naturally I just made sounds which wasn't enough, as he told me to actually say that hurt lol. We went back into his office after that and that is when he dealt his verdict. Basically, all the testing I had done was not necessary. There was no conclusive evidence to support an allergy to gluten, only a mild sensitivity. He also stated that based on what I told him about still having pain when I was gluten free, that it supported his thoughts on the testing. Started a new injectable replacing the bi-weekly Humira with a weekly Enbral. At first it seemed like the Humira was going to according to early indications but it may had more to do aith the weather, who know? All I know is the pain is at a constant level that has me getting out of bed as little as possible and praying that it will end soon. My outlook isn't very hopeful right now and could use a little encouragement. I take enough morphine a day to knock most ppl out (120mg+) and it barely keeps the edge off the pain so I'm not screaming all the time. And to make matters worse, the morphine makes it difficult to sleep! I get 2 -4 hrs a day average and if I'm lucky an extra 2hr nap. It's like it won't let me sleep untill I'm exhausted and then when the edge of the exhaustion is off 2hrs later I wake up again. HERE IT IS: my new definition to pain, I biked fo what seemed like three blocks to pick up some sliced ham and litter, now not only did they not have litter but the ride killed me. New Earnhardt Movie -
I saw the new movie "DALE". I won tickets from a local Chevy dealership. The theater was so crowded that my friends & I had 2 sit in the 3rd row from the front. Normally i don't sit that close but in this case, because it was a movie about NASCAR, it was well worth it. I can't wait til it comes out on DVD. (Now I just need a TV that big.) LOL. If & when it comes out in the theaters for everyone 2 c, I wanna c it again, also in the 3rd row seats. AWESOME MOVIE!!!! I highly recommend it!!! Sooooooo I send sincere apologies for my continuing absence to my friends. I have been continuing the fight for my little girls safety. Dealing with OCS, Sheriffs, Juvenile Detectives, mental health professionals and counselors, to assure that no more harm comes to her from people supposed to be keeping her safe on her bi weekly vists. Went to an emergency Exparte hearing yesterday and it was denied. However Taylors father did not show up to pick her up follwing court like ordered from the judge. I do beleive in Divine intervention and yesterday was a prime example. Taylor is safe with me until further court date. By that time we should have all reports from Law enforcement available and hopefully put a stop to the madness. Needless to say I have not had alot of time to chat or say much of anything to anyone. Brining: 1 (12-pound) whole turkey, fresh or thawed 1 1/4 cups kosher salt 1 quart hot water 4 quarts cold water 1 cup maple syrup 1 medium onion, thinly sliced 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed 10 black peppercorns 5 bay leaves 4 strips lemon zest 2 whole cloves 1. My grandparents told me stories about the depression in the 20's and the effects it had on the economical balance and what a mans worth was in those days. I feel that as americans we can relate to the past follies that have shaped our country and what we are doing with corporate backing is wrong. In the olden days of our great country a mans worth was his weight in a hard days labour output in a mill, field, manufacturing plant, so on, it was work that defined the end of the depression and the will power for people to continue on what they lost and build it back from the ground up. since the 20's we have bee

So is everyone else. It's planet-wide. No one is feeling like doing much of anything. Things which seems so exciting or promising a few weeks ago now hold little or no allure at all, and people are wondering if they'll ever feel GOOD again. I've been having people come to me and tell me how 'depressed' they feel, or how 'unmotivated' or 'lost' or 'lazy', even people who are not my clients or students! Well today i got the news i feared from the doctors about my daughter's Cat Scan. Her brain is still bleeding and they weren't sure why. It was supposed to be gone by now and it is still there. On March 20, 2008 at 6:48 am my newest grandson decided to join us and that makes me now a 4 time grandmother. I am so proud of my grandkids and my son for the man, husband and father he has become. My grandson weighed in a 8 lbs 7.5 oz. and was 20 inches long. My daughter in law set a record at giving birth to him. He didn't want to wait for her to dialate and started to come at 8 centimeters. He shot out like a cannon and she had him in 3 minutes. The doctor didn't even have enough time to get from where she was resting to the room. The nurse on duty had to deliver him and they never had time to drop the bottom of the bed to put her in stirrups. It turns out that she was cought injecting forign substances into her 2 year old daughter four years ago at Riley hospital here in Indy. She was on probation at the time of our son's birth. She also was not to have any contact with nyone under the age of 18. She is now is jail due to violating her probation. The judge just sentenced her today to serve 2 years back-up time. Since it because of pobation violation, she will have to serve the full two years. I have had to go through the process of gaining custody of my son, as we were not married. It was easier than I thought it would be, and was succesful. I do not know if retains parental rights still as of yet. New England Clam Chowder
NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER 24 fresh clams ( 3 6 1/2 ounce cans of whole or chopped clams with liquid.) 4 cups boiling water 2 tablespoons butter 1 small onion, chopped 2 slices lean bacon, cooked and crumbled 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced 4 cups water 1 quart milk or half-and-half salt and freshly ground black pepper Clean the clams thoroughly with a vegetable brush if using fresh. In a large soup pot, cover the unopened clams with the boiling water. As each shell opens, remove the clam and set aside. Pour the liquor from each shell into the soup pot. Remove the thin skin from each reserved clam and cut off the black end and discard. Chop the tough parts of the clams and the the soft parts whole. Set aside. In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter and saute the onion until transparent. Add the onion, bacon, potatoes, and the water to the soup pot. The new easy rates I have found are if you actually start with the last picture and rate backwards and rate the larger pics, because it gives the perfect amount of time between Pic rates to make it so the new infamous " slow down your rating too fast" doesn't pop up very often at all. New Exercise Program.
So, obviously this is my first blog so bear with me. I am making this as sort of like a public journal to keep track of my progress with a new workout program that I have started. It is really slack and if anyone has any tips or pointers on how I can improve this workout or my results feel free to post. I have been out of the game for awhile now, not really doing much exercise. I am sure that showws in my recent pics. So I decided to start with a real laid back program. It is a six week program that consists of 5 exercises, pushups, situps, pullups, chinups, and squats. I do about 15 minutes of warm ups before and after the workout. and I make sure to do stretches, especially afterwards. Day 1. Ate a full breakfast. 2 hard boiled eggs, a slice of toast with a thin spread of blueberry jam, a small glass of milk and a large glass of water. Hi , Just wanted to let you know what is going on.. Mom and I just got back from seeing my ( hematologist) , The results from the test that the (heart doc ) showed that I did have a "mild heart attack " back in Sept. The test showed small amt of damage to the right side of the heart . They think that what happened is a piece of one of the clots broke off and hit the right side of my heart and this is what caused it. They could not see any blockage or anything so they think that my body just pushed it through and my "heart said " you aren't going anywhere yet.. So no need for any type of procedure at this time. They are going to continue to treat me with ( carvedilol) which is a heart beta blocker .. What ever that is ..LOL.. So that is the latest . I go back and see the (heart doc)on Nov.4th. New Family Addition
I have grand-puppies! My neighbors German Shepard (we have joint custody of the dog) had puppies! Get this-eleven (11) of them! 7 girls and 4 boys! I ended up with joint custody when Sissy (the female dog) went into 'heat' and we bred her with my German Shepard. It seems she likes it at my house more than at her own, so she is normally found here constatnly. Either way, about 1.30 pm I got another holiday surprise. Finally! I thought she was gonna try and hold them pups in till Christmas. My cat had her kittens on Mothers Day this year, and a few Christmas' ago is when I received a drop-off Irish Setter-some fool took him out into the country where I live, and dropped him off-completely housebroke, neutered, and a wonderful dog. So I am now at 5 dogs, 3 cats, and 11 puppies! Ain't life wonderful!!!
