Alright so we left Raven on our way to Dayton early Friday afternoon in hopes of getting there pretty earlyin the evening. Well that plan went all to hell quickly.
We headed north and all that as we were supposed to . . . got to Dry Ridge I think is what the place was called and stoped to feed the kids. Ok, now I wasnt to add at this point that I still have really had o cell service up until about 10 minutes before this stop. So, all I have heard are the kids in the backseat and my sisters incesent bitching about Thomas and her being sick - why is it that every damn time I take her somewhere she has to be sick ~ my opinion is it is her ploy for attention since she has no job, no real home and her man is worthless and doesn't have a job this is her way to make her life seem better than mine and not get all the shit thrown at her ~ anyway so we stop to feed them all as I said. Then after everyoneis finished we get back on 75 and head north some more toward Cincy.
Ok, so we get to this little town called Erlanger between Lexington and Covington and the jeep breaks down on us. So, I pull off ot the side of the road and call 911 for lack of a better number to call. I explain to them that I don't have a real emergency but am not from the area and didn't have another number to call and told them that we were broken down on 71/75 north bound about 1 1/4 from the Buttermilk Pk exit and we needed a trooper and a tow truck. Ok, so after we have established that yeah there is no way we can drive since the fan belt it compeletely off the damn thing now we sit and sit and sit. After an hour I call 911 back and ask why we have seen no one yet and they appologize and say they will send a trooper right out to us. So, another 45 minutes later we call again and they say the same thing but we tell them if they aren't going to send a trooper at least give us a number for a tow truck. Well after another 20 or so minutes the tow truck showed up (bonus points for him being cute even) and I told him I didn't care where he towed the car to just somewhere that will fix it. So he gives me the option of Pep Boys in Florence which is still open or a place in Covingotn that wouldn't be open again until Sunday. So back to Pep Boys we went and paid him $95 to go not even 20 miles away - argh!!!
We get to Pep Boys and find out that the water pump has died and that was the main issue there. They would have it fixed tomorrow (Saturday) around 1. Ok thankfully Ray came down from Dayton and picked us up so we were at least not stuck there. **NOte the events that took place in Dayton are in a spereate blog**
So early Saturday afternoon my cousin Jolene drove us back down to Florence to ge the damn jeep. We got there around 2:30 and they were just finishing it up - good thing I didnt show up at 1 huh? Anyway so I hadn over another $373 to these people (for a jeep that isn't mine mind you) and we go to lunch with Jolene before we leave the area.
Back on the road we were north again on 71 to get us home once and for all. The rest of hte trip was uneventful unless you factor in the fact that my sister still bitched nonstop and wod hardly let me have use of my own phone - as a matter of fact the entire time I was talking to Jack she was bitching becasue Thomas may eb trying to get ahold of her. I am not sure why I didn;t throw her into traffic I really am not. I mean she was unbelievable and I was exhausted having not slept the night before really - see Dayton blog for details.
Anyway thank god I am home now and had some sleep and can finally get my own jeep back. I have to go now and write out the blog about the Dayton leg of my journey.
