Think about that for a minute.......Now say you meet someone you are attracted to. What was the first thing that attracted you to him or her? Was it the way they dressed, the company they keep, the car they drive or maybe they have a great job and big fancy house. There are several reasons we are attracted to someone, these are but a few. The above mentioned are all superficial. Being , they don't matter. The fact they dress well, nice car etc. is irrelivent in all cases.
The fact is, we have to be open to accept this person for who they are, their morals, convictions etc. Not who we precieve them to be. Fore, to precieve is to pre-judge.........we all do it, it's human nature, unfortunatlly.
Something brought 2 people together for whatever reason. The key here is to get behond the inital attraction. If you are really attracted to this person, you will be patient, understanding with them. Don't expect to much, after all you just met. Give eachother plenty of time to get to know one another. Small talk IS what it's cracked up to be. Small talk about anything, your likes, dislikes, movies, hobbies, anything except......how much you've got or how much money you make, or "How about that new BMW, isn't it great..........WHO CARES!!!!!!!!. I've got an old ford that will do the same thing. The point i'm trying to make is.....TAKE THE TIME TO KNOW EACHOTHER, not the things they have.
I know what your saying to yourself, in this day and age I just don't have the time, with working 10-12 hours a day, gotta run home and let the dog out, have to stop by the cleaners before they close.......SO WHAT You know deep down inside yourself, you will have a million reasons why you don't have the time. Well i'm here to tell you "MAKE THE TIME" , it will change your life forever.
2 people starting out as 1 (how beautiful), at any age, the world is perfect. The flowers smell like you don't remember. The sun is just a bit warmer. The air is alittle fresher, you have a bounce in your step........why, because you are about to embark on a journey with this person and it's exciting and new, the adventure, the mystery, there is no end.......................................................................But is there??????
The question is, "did you really take the time to know eachother?? It's easy to get caught up in all that is new and improved, starry eyed excitement. You must know, that will only carry the 2 of you so far, and not far at that. If you didn't take the time, you are destine to fail, plain and simple. Why you ask, you have the answers, you have had them all along. Now, did you ask yourself the questions to those answers? If not, then you have let yourself down. You never gave the relationship a chance to blossom from the tiny seed you both planted on that very special day you met. What a pity. 2 people striving for something so very hard, with such passion, yet not taking the time to let the flower grow.
Why do you think there are only a very small percentage of relationships that last, because people are so rapped up in thier work and trying to live or should I say survive, that they miss out on the real life they could have, or had. That old saying "STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES", never loomed so large as it dose in a relationship..........
Do yourself a favor, for life........................."TAKE THE TIME"
