Happy Holidays!
Yes it is that time of year where although I have nothing to spend on it, IT STILL COMES! lol! Yes ...Christmas is just a few short days away. For me it is a time of reflection on times that were better, when family was abundant and there were presents under the tree...FOR ME!
I was a rotten lil runt. An only child of divorced parents, who got pretty much what I wanted within reason. I miss the smells and noises of the holiday's with my grandparents and family. The anticipation of a child's heart wondering when Santa would get there and with what.
Today's Chrissy is different but still a small child in the wonder of it all. I am not blessed with money or things. I have a 24 inch Christmas tree (if you want to call it that lol!) on my kitchen table and a strand of xmas lights that somehow ...well...got in my nether regions...just for the masses of Fubar.
What I am blessed with is people who care whether I'm ok. Go out of their way to make sure I am and dont expect anything much in return but the love in my heart for them that grows and grows with each amazing thing that they do for me.
How have I acquired such riches amongst friends? I really dont know. I like to think it is because I go out of my way to touch someone's heart. To be positive through all the strife of my life. To allow the light of my soul to shine through my eyes to any heart who is willing to listen. To espouse love not hate, honesty not deceit, forgiveness not revenge. All the things we give out we receive back 10 fold. I only wish to be loved.
So to these folks I have given my heart in friendship, sisterhood, familial warmth and caring. They are the best of the best and I love them with all my heart for different reasons.
On this Christmas dont be afraid to tell someone you love them, share whats in your heart, reach out, extend a hand and rejoice!
To receive love one must first give it.
