I AM LONG-WAISTED, which makes participation quite limited in most. And means that I have to go to big and tall men store to purchase my
shirts.
When younger I enjoyed baseball, basketball, swimming, and fishing growing up and with my kids. Also skating, both ice skating and roller skating.
I avoid dangerous sports like football and any kind of skiing or wrestling, except the latter playfully with children.
At baseball I was pitcher at softball, and great at batting long flies to cousins for them to practise catching. I bat right-handed and throw
left-handed. When pitching, I pitch slow under-handed, but otherwise I throw sidearm which is somewhat a strain physically. I am good at
catching flies, but not grounders.
In basketball I was great at shooting, including hook shot, and especially from long distances, a few times from 1/2 way down the court. I was poor at dribbling.
At swimming, I am still great at floating and unknown how good my swimming still is. I was great at backstroke and breaststroke when younger.
My grandmother Ruth enjoyed fishing freshwater catfish and perch in our creeks. We had a creek with a waterfalls 15 foot high and a deep deep pool below, which was good for fishing and swimming. It has since washed away.
I was a natural at both skatings and no problem.
I enjoy watching baseball and basketball on TV. When in high school, I played in band for football games, but now don't enjoy them. I have
gone to a couple of live baseball games but otherwise no live visits to sports since college days. I love to watch the Olympics also,
especially the gymnastics.
