There are quite a few times in your life that you come to realize something important. Someting that you realize in a moment, that you never really realized or thought about before. An epiphany.
These epiphanys can be about many different things,subjects, or people,but when you come across one, it changes your life, and your never the same.
My epiphany is a person. Her name is Michele. I've known her for quite a few years now, and I think she probably knows me better than I know myself.
Our relationship didn't fit into any catorgory, not just friends, not a couple, but a relationship none the less.
The epiphany that I have come to realize is that, i've lived my life thinking my true friends are the people that are around me the most, the ones i've spent a lot of time with,had fun with,look up to me, went to school with, etc..my roommates....whatever, but I realize that your true friends are the ones that aren't going to make your life easier. They are the ones that challenge you to be a better person.
True friends..are people that truely care about you. The ones that are really sad if you get hurt, or make stupid decisons, or say stupid things. They know how you think, they know your flaws, they know your weaknesses,and most importantly they know how great of a person your capable of being, so they still choose to be around you all the time anyway. They choose to care about you anyway. There's no such truer friend than that.
Michele, you've taught me so many,many things over the last few years, things that i'd never have learned if not for you.
My true epiphany tonight is..that i'm losing the best friend i've had here in the dirty myrtle. I thank god that he brought you into my life.
