2 weeks ago i was informed by my 12 yr old son that he has to turn in a project. " what kind of project?" i asked him. " oh i have to build a water bottle rocket". i tell him no problem, just get the information and we can build it. we have to know what size water bottle, do we need to build a launcher, what will the teacher provide etc. the next day i ask " did you get the info?" to which he replied " no,, i forgot ". bring it home tomorrow he is told. it was forgotten about until the weekend just before it was due,,, still no info, nada,, " oh the directions mustve been washed and i am certain we need a launcher" grrr at the last minute we were scrambling to build a water bottle rocket, complete with launcher assy. total cost $68 at the local hardware store. gawd i was pissed. how could a project for school, thats worth so much of his grade require $65 in parts. the rocket and launcher were built,,we stayed up late sunday night workin on it. it was in on time. and now it sits on the teachers desk,, waiting for decent weather to launch. " oh yeah, dad, forgot to tell ya, we didnt need a launcher " grrrrrr $65 at aco wasted,, all we needed was a damn bottle and some friggen tape!
today my lil guy tells me " dad, i have to turn in a diorama for tomorrow! " what what what! " out the door i bolt for parts for his shoebox diorama. oh yeah, dad, i also have to make a report explaining the diorama. grrrrr. this was at 8:00. the boy went to bed at 9:30, diorama just got done at 11:00
enough with the damn projects! next time they have a project i want the teacher to email me with the specs and scope of whats going on! cause having my lil guys tell me with plenty of time to do it just doesnt seem to work lmao
