So... I'm putting together the MS 18E Kampfer. I have one Arm completed, 2 short stock shotguns, and 2 bazookas.

I'd like to say that this suit really embodies the blitz.

Covers AP, anti armor, light infantry, I could level a goddamn city block with this thing.

A whole lot of joints on this thing say "screw this" and I do exactly that

I'm not microthreading eye-glass screws through a cubic centimeter of plastic on an already stable and fitted joint.

I did on the gouf custom, and didn't see the fucking point.

I wonder how this guy got that great luminescent blue and that high sheen metallic.

Great color combination.

Now the impulse to go custom on mine... I think it comes from the fact that my first model ever was a Super Deformed Kampfer.

Those mesh wires leading around his torso?
Yeah they're lead wires with a mesh around them. They've got excess material, and they have to be measured to fit around the torso and cut.

To the milimeter.

Similar problem with the mine whip. Two guide wires, one shorter than the other that you have to connect and interlace with the grip and the body of the whip mine.

Gotta measure it, loop and lock it.

third issue, see those big, crazy, massive arms with the wide, curved forearms? Like... popeye bot.

In the OVA that this unit appears in, there's a Gundam that has a forearm gatling gun compartment.

... where the HELL is that in such a massive forearm on an assault unit?
And with that much fuel and rockets... why didn't this thing go nuclear when struck on a fuel line?

Oh right... other reason I want to go custom

I used a custom black (... I didn't pick the color it just came that way when I set it to heavy assault payload) Kampfer in a video game. Rakenten Bazooka, heavy offense payload, with a Gouf shield tacked on to the left arm.

Now the Kampfer has all these great holster points on the frame, and I thought to myself "why not articulate that shit and make some shoulder mounted weaponry" ? Then some guy made a custom kampfer that did just that.

What's the point in pulling a bazooka from a holster, and locking it into your hip if you can fire it from the holster on your back?

its kinda how I'm annoyed with the Zaku II's shield design. That shield hanging on the shoulder has been shown as a "knuckle shield" that deploys and attaches onto the forearm in some of the more modern variations.

You put just a couple cranes on that sucker and it can pop out, swivel, and reattach deployed as a melee weapon and frontal shield as opposed to a shoulder curtain.

I've done some pretty interesting things with that design. A lot of frontal weaponry bayonets and such.

That same game had knuckle shields for Doms. I appreciated the option.

Towers, claws, knuckles, fins... Gundam has always found a good excuse to put in some pretty cool shields, but not many main character/canonical energy shields.

You'd think that'd be one of the first things you'd develop and deploy in a universe with beam weapons.

let's go ahead and "ideally" this thing

custom colors
custom gatling shield
forearm compartment weapons (the sinanju has forearm blades, the gouf has the heat rod)
Maybe some Rakenten's as opposed to giant baz.
I'm not -entirely- sure what the differnece is on rakentens and giants
as far as performance anyway
but the rakenten has fewer optic dangleys and a huge frontal shield. I think... based on the game it has a higher calliber round and more ammo.

hip holsters for the sawed-off shotguns where the sturmfaust's mount
Maybe a convex shield that can cradle a gun and cock a shotgun.
