My son bowls every Saturday morning in a league, and when you go enough, you get to know some people. I was talking to another parent, and I noticed them looking over my shoulder as we talked. I casually turned and looked, and he was looking at this lady and her daughter.
I'm being kind when I say she weighs 300#'s, and her daughter is a shorter version of her, there is no mistaking whose child she is. I then turned and said "She should be taken away for child abuse, because she let her daughter get that big" The person thought I was nuts.
I realize people struggle with weight, but this generation will be the first generation ever with a shorter life expectancy than their parents. I am no dainty flower by any means, but I have come to the point in my life where I realize that I have to work at losing some weight, so I can be healthier. I also try to pass this on to my boys, who are rail thin, apparantly taking after their mother, whose getting a bigger ass every time I see her, and it makes me happy.
But to allow your child to be 200#'s, and approximately 10 years old, to me is child abuse. Even if you overlook the obvious health problems, can you imagine the hell her fellow classmates put her through. Kids are mean little shits.
She bowls on a team of chubby little girls, and they all get along, and I'm glad. she and her mom are very nice, not that they wouldn't be, but I still can't help but feel bad for the daughter, and disgust for the mom, because she put her daughter thru this.
I hate the celebrities who go out of their way to say how sexy big is. I don't mind a woman with curves, but I do mind the fact that they're promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. I hate the fact I need to lose around 30 more pounds. I feel better because I've lost 30, and can't wait to feel even better. But for a celebrity to say big and beautiful is the way to be, that's irresponsible in my book.
And my other rant of the day is against the people who promote being stupid. Is it any wonder we're considered stupid in other countries, because people like Larry the Cable Guy, and Jeff Foxworthy represent us. It drives me absolutely friggin nuts. Do the world a favor, look up Emo Phillips, he's brilliant, and never say "Git er done" ever again!
Ok, I'm done with my rant for the day. Nothing much is happening. Dem's play is coming up, can't wait. Busy weekend planned, with the play, a reception, and a baptism. I'm glad I escaped the baptism. Plus I'm on call for work, so should be exciting.
