This is going to be a multi-entry blog post. It'll be easier to read that way...
Since I was gone this weekend, taking a 29-hour round trip with 3 days of fun in between, I figured I would blog about it. Since some of my friends blog about less important things, I figured this would be considered blogworthy... Probably not, though...
First, I took my nephew with me. I have ADD, and hehas ADHD. Sinnce I am out of work at the moment, my mom and sister thought, "We need to send the boys on a weekender, since it will be the last time they will be able to before school starts..." I think they just wanted us gone so they could do stuff around the house without us there. So I decided that we were gonna be us and not worry about "behaving" - after all, Mom and Bibi (my sister and my mother) weren't around... So all day Friday we belched and farted and drove to Marion, Iowa, where my friend Julie, aka Jone lives. (one quick aside - if you have never driven through Kansas using I-35, have between $6.00 and $20.00 ready, depending on if you're drivin a car or a semi - it's a toll road going north and south) We didn't stop except to pee and get drinks or food or fuel. At about 25 MPG (10.6 km/l) it took me around 70 gallons (265 liters). I did make notes as to some silly stuff to do as a day trip if I ever get really bored and have $100 lying around - the birthplace of The Duke, things like that...
Anyway, we finally arrived at her condo around 9:30 that night. We ordered pizza, caught each other up on a few things, discussed our "itinerary" for the next 3 days, and went to bed. Her kitty, Larry Tate, didn't seem to like us - he acted like my nephew and I were invading...
(More to come...)
