To the left is my "unknown soldier Zaku I" to the right is the OOB Ramba Ral Zaku I which it was built from.
I wanted to say he was "completed"
but...
that's not entirely true.

I -could- panel line (fill in the scribed parts with another color)
Dry brush (take another paint type and top coat another color for a sandy/dusty effect)
Decal- pretty self explanatory
Top coat- (apply another -usually clear- coat to ALL parts, typically flat or glossy)

3 broken parts
about 8 paint chipoffs
and...
Jesus CHRIST hands are hard!!!

... not using sticky tack again if I can avoid it.

Surprisingly, most of the chip offs occured on reassembly and NOT during socket cover removal.

The only part that didn't fit too great was the cockpit panel with that S/M glossy black.

Surprisingly the chips came at

the upper arms
backpack
the back of a shin,
the front of a shin (part of the foot caught as I was reassmbling and bit right into the paint)
the fingers
and the palms/fist components.
Oh- nd the top panel of the head stripped in two parts, both of which were... basically on the underside and would rarely if ever be seen.

No MAJOR loss of mobility was observed except in the upper arms
the upper arm consists of 2 parts housing a swivel peg

so

fixed peg
arm-cube
swivel peg in the interior

I could not come up with a good way to paint this part and get the swivel peg masked to where it could be painted, reassembled, or maintain its original mobility

... so double-joined elbow became a single jointed *45 elbow.

I'll take my Magella gun now.

I don't want to close this project and say he's done.
I may come back to him at some point.
Touch up the booboos, line, decal and shadow?

Not ready to say yet.

Any ideas on Magella gun color?
I was thinking matte black, but ... I can't get matte with what I've got unless I used enamels.

I'll worry about that later.
Quite a bit later.
