"Startled Stripes"
Abstract stripes of black and white,
Social horse tiger of morning light.
Grazing freely upon the coastal hills grass
While friendly faces of wilderbee pass.
Sturdy, wild stallion holding his own,
Striking stripes look perfectly sewn.
Protector of his herd and vast territory,
Fights for their rights in all his glory.
With senses so extraordinarily fine,
Each uniquely striped with artistic design.
Not a speedy creature by any means,
Blends naturally into background scenes.
Preying predators suddenly feel confusion,
Lost in the maze of the Zebra's illusion.
An African specie with few gripes,
But be cautious of his startled stripes.
