"Johnson's Pond"
After hours we sit and listen,
When most all is quiet.
That's when we hear the critters,
Only by the moon's light.
Just up from Johnson's Pond...
You can hear the frogs laugh loud.
And then we hear this one,
He sounds so very proud.
The little ones can't find a tune yet,
But I'm sure they will in time,
For they have good teachers
That never charge a dime.
Here at Johnson's Pond...
At least a natural frog park,
We should charge admission
For the comedians in the dark.
We know they're giggling at us
For all the silly things we say and do.
Or maybe those big, green, pond frogs
Are simply chucklin' at you!
