People tell me I'm tall. And other stuff. I am a former active duty marine and was a member of the New Hampshire Army National Guard. Injured in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom so I am sore and cranky a lot. Don't mean to be, though.

I try to be a good father, pay my bills, but would like to do greater things at some point. At 50, I still haven't figured out what to do when I grow up. I'm either immature, or evolving. I'll choose evolving since it has a better ring to it.

As you notice, I'm not particularly good at this game, but enjoy coming onto the site. I compare it to going to a new city and just sitting a table outside a restaurant and watching people. Some people are very serious, some are silly, some look to be having fun, others look miserable. I tend to be very competitive, but with fubar I've found a vehicle in which I can be as competitive or laid back as I want. The benefit is that it's true: there are great people on this site. Sadly, there just isn't enough time to delve deeply into everyone's life, but just getting a glimpse of how somebody is doing on the West coast or middle America on any given day is fun.

I appreciate the assistance and personal support of fubar friends I've met so far. I look forward to seeing how each of you are doing each day I can, and I also like to meet new people.

Interests
Interests:

1. My kids

2. I like my cat a lot

3. Politics (i.e. current events; upcoming presidential race, etc.)

4. Neil Young (and Crazy Horse--if he decides to use them). I do like other artists and groups, but he's always been my favorite once I started seriously listening to rock music in the late 1970s.

5. Sports involving a ball, although watching mens' soccer can be a snooze. I now tend to watch more than participate, so it needs to keep my interest. (NASCAR racing just doesn't do it for me.)

6. Reading and studying history
Music
Neil Young is my favorite artist. I'd argue vehemently that "Rust Never Sleeps" is the best rock album ever made. Many in his catalog come close, too. However, if I had to choose only one album to listen to for the rest of my life it would be Roxy Music's "Avalon". If you haven't listened to it you're missing out on one of life's greatest treasures. Recent group to catch my ears: The Black Keys. I also like Steve Earle, Rosanne Cash (and, yes, she's Johnny's daughter, and, sacrelege, is more talented than her father, both as a songwriter and singer). "Raising Sand", by Allyson Krauss and Robert Plant, is probably one of the best albums to come out in a decade, so check it out.

Took something I saw on internet to task about best albums that have come out in the 21st century. Two-thirds of them I know the artist's name but couldn't recognize one of their songs if I tripped over one. However, I've been meaning to check out the White Stripes, and I'm glad I did. "Elephant" certainly is great album (CD, whatever. I grew up with LPs). And serendipity led me to the band Sleigh Bells. "Reign of Terror," rocks, and is listenable over and over. Black Keys are pretty cool, too.
Movies
Favorite movie is "Blue Velvet", directed by David Lynch. Most of Ridley Scott's movies ("Gladiator", "Silence of the Lambs", "Bladerunner", "Alien", the list goes on) are must see's. I saw "Hanna" last year, and thought that was darn good. "My Idiot Brother" flew under the radar, but it's really good. I love movies, so I will try almost anything. Almost anything.
Idols
Abraham Lincoln
Thomas Edison
John Quincy Adams (after his term as president he joined Congress again and literally died there, but made more of a mark as a Congressman than as president)
Ronald Reagan
Crew of Apollo 13
Nolan Ryan
Video Games
I don't play video games; my teenage son is video game ninja. I bought an Atari way back in 1982, used it once or twice and then gave it to somebody. Now I wish I still had it, if only to give to my son or to sell on Ebay!
