So I've been looking in the admire section for a few minutes this morning, and they have an age range feature. It's nice but...just makes me think some things about the women on this site. Now, before I begin, if you are on my friends list you ARE beautiful, and you do not fall into the overgeneralized stereotypes I'm about to make. If you stalked someone in here...you might.
I've noticed..the "girls" 18-25. Most are overweight. Most are ugly. Most claim to be "sexi" or "hott"...when they are anything but. There are some hot ones, but they are few and far between, spread sparsely between the hordes of unattractive "myspace angle" photos of cows trying to show their cavernous cleavage without their rolling gut peeking past their udders. It's...sad and revolting. Like I said, there are some hotties, and there are some tasteful pics. There are some beautiful big girls too...but MOST are unattractive and obese (not just overweight..nothing wrong with being overweight, but grotesquely obese is another thing).
Then there are the women 26-32. 60% of the time, the pic is either a close-up on the face, or something that emphasizes the boobs. Either a bra pic, or a cleavage pic, or a pic that shows...just their boobs and little else. The other 40% of the time it's a morph, or an image that isn't the person at all.
And then the 33-40 year old women. Their pics are so diverse, I can't make a generalization of them. The only thing I can say is that..these women are comfortable in their skin. It seems to be the age group where they WILL post pictures of themselves as they are, instead of trying to appear sexy when they are not by abusing camera angles or taking photos in clothes that should be saved for private moments in the bedroom. These women are real, and not afraid to show themselves as they are.
Next is the over 40 crowd, where most pics are gifs that aren't even the user, or morphs of them, or gifs with a tiny little pic of them in the corner so you can't even see what they look like. Most of these users have gifs, the few who post themselves generally show close-up face shots.
All this leads me to overgeneralize and create a stereotype of the women based upon the defaults. Now, again, don't get offended..I'm not talking about you most likely. However, if you do get offended, that just shows you fall into the stereotype and need to rethink the kinds of photos you post.
The women on fubar..start out being immature and desperately seeking attention. They put "fubar's most wanted" or "sexi" or "hott" or any other descriptive adjective that others would most certainly not call them. For the main part they are unattractive overweight women, who are insecure about how they look so they give themselves titles, and take pictures emphasizing their willingness to be a slut, their oral skills with a blowpop, or the fact that they have boobs. The angle is generally from overhead, slightly angled in, with the cleavage being the most prominent thing in the picture, usually centered, causing the face to be half cut-off.
They progress through the years, and start posting full-face pics, which is a good thing. The "sexi" turns into "sexy", the "hott" turns into "*insert rating family name here*". The obligatory cleavage shot turns into...a bra-shot, with the boobs firmly centered in the photograph. The pic of them on the bed on all-fours in lingerie comes out, and so do the morphs and gifs. Either she is trying to be sexy, or she is posting a pic that has nothing to do with her.
Eventually this gets tiresome, and she matures a little more. Full-body shots are posted, "sexy" is dropped, "BBW" is used a lot more. The diversity of the women starts to show, and not every pic looks like a different woman in the same pose, different ratty bra. Pics of the woman in public, in her car, OUTSIDE the house...The desperate slutty aspect starts to fade, and the woman seems to say "here I am, take it as it is or leave it..I don't give a shit".
Then the morphs and gifs start becoming more prevalent. Pictures of the user herself are scarce if they exist at all. She doesn't have a face, merely a voice to say who she is. "Sexy" "BBW" and all other attention-seeking names are dropped, the woman is merely another person on the site..and she's content being herself instead of trying to be something she thinks others desire her to be.
I had something...but I forget what it is. Damn distractions, making me forget the whole point of this blog. In summation...I had a thought-provoking statement...something about "are women REALLY more mature than men"...but I forgot it
