The Montreal Impact, meanwhile, gets their first taste of the fervent fans in the Pacific Northwest while the Vancouver Whitecaps look to take advantage of a schedule that opens at home with games against Toronto and the Columbus Crew. http://elevatedcolor.com/hot.html . The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal hasnt been officially announced. Free agents cannot sign new contracts until July 11 and because the 7-foot Asik is restricted, the Bulls have three days to decide whether to match Houstons offer or let him go.As we come down the home stretch of the NBA regular season, here are five quick NBA thoughts, including Gerald Green of the Nets, Louis Amundson of the Pacers, James Harden of the Thunder, Alan Anderson of the Raptors and Byron Mullens of the Bobcats.     1. Gerald Green (Nets) - Ill guarantee you this, hell have a job in the NBA next year, based upon how hes tearing it up right now for the Nets; no doubt about it. Hes always been a guy considered to have top-notch athleticism and talent but some immaturity. The light is finally coming on for him and is it ever. Hes made some electrifying dunks and hes playing with nice energy. Hes opening some eyes and finally showing the promise that was projected for him. In the market for a wing player? Hes helping his value every time he goes out there and competes at a high level. Can he keep it up? Hes got the talent but the big concern is if you give him the money and a little security, will he slip back into the lousy habits of the past? Risk vs. reward move for a GM, thats for sure. Sure is an inexact science, isnt it!! 2.  Louis Amundson (Pacers) - With the health issues of Jeff Foster and his ultimate retirement, there was concern in Indy where the Pacers would find second unit energy and grit beyond Tyler Hansborough. Well, theyve found it with this guy. Hes a high flyer who has bounced around the NBA but has earned the respect of fans in every city he plays in with his dunks, rebounding prowess and willingness to give up his body for the cause on all the hustle plays. Good pickup for them and hes carved out a solid niche with their backups. Love the hairstyle. 3. James Harden (Thunder) - Every time I watch him in person, I grow more impressed with his temperament and his game. Very cerebral and intelligent player. Plays at a controlled speed and makes aall the plays.dddddddddddd Very good all-around player. Best Sixth Man in the NBA and can start on any team in the league. Simply put, hes legit. My hat is off to GM Sam Presti for this pick. He plays the game like a 12-year veteran and I love his savvy. Winner. 4. Alan Anderson (Raptors) - If he keeps making shots and playing with the determination that hes shown so far, hes going to have a team to play for among the 30 NBA teams next season. Seizing the opportunity by playing within the offensive system and getting his high percentage shots and his defence is respectable. Competes hard and is hungry. Fun time of year to watch these 10-day guys come up and lay it all out there. Wish a bunch of guys that are on multi-year deals played as hard. Another example why teams are hesitant to give long-term deals to players when you can find a guy off the scrap heap and hell give you almost as much as the guys youre paying significant money on a lengthy contract. On the back end of your roster, its about finding value players who can contribute and not cost you lots in dollars and years. Good for him, hes giving himself a chance to get a look at a camp in the fall. At 29 years old, the clock is ticking and this is it. We need more hungry players in the league. Too many comfortable guys. 5. Byron Mullens (Bobcats) - Big men develop late and this is an example of it. Getting a chance playing for an awful team and making the best of the opportunity. Pretty mobile guy who runs well with decent hands. OK face-up game and adequate post skills. Willing to mix it up on the boards and plays with solid energy. Even bad teams need someone to score and get rebounds so the numbers can be deceptive. Yet, to get numbers, youve got to be somewhat capable. Hes taken advantage of a pathetic Bobcats team and earned his minutes and produced; gotta respect that. ' ' '
