Oh my god…it is sooooooo very hard to finish this last day of the week on a good news week trek. Not to be confused with Star Trek fans… Good Morning…hmmm I said good in the Morning greeting does that constitute a good news letter? Perhaps not…oh I so want to write about MSN putting a bull’s-eye on the back of that Mom who tracks down terrorists… But I will refrain from them calling her out and mostly giving her location. Good News…hmmm searching the memory banks in my head…some may say that is a futile search.
Oh I found it…MSN came through in a pinch… a pinch of salt and a slather of butter will do just fine. The article calls out: “7 Recipes for Guys to prove they can cook”…Oh I so want to go the other way on this but! I will gladly give them their do. Not to be confused with Dippity Doo or how ever that pasty cream was back in the 60’s Men can cook. You are looking at one who can do very well if I do say so myself. Mostly mine skills are dedicated and refined by my dear Mother’s ability to cook. She was a Chef and was never very far from the kitchen even at home. You know…it pains me to see anyone that can’t or say’s they can’t cook and will go on to say, we eat out a lot because I hate to cook, or I can’t cook. That is just a lame-ass cop out. Everyone can cook. (period…in case the period did not show up) If you can pull bread out of a bread wrapper, take an egg out of a carton…pour liquid from a bottle you can cook, now the rest is just seasoning and time approximate to the item you wish to cook. Honestly it is nothing more then that. Mostly my mom’s recipe’s were in her head. But! I did see her glance at cook books a time or two…Oh you say cooking with a cook book is cheating? Oh then I guess directions on putting a model together are the same…perhaps reading things and following in order is cheating…not really. The real cooking comes when those are followed to a suit! Oh yeah you can put your own flare on it surely but, why else would we write things down if we were not intended on following them? The real deal is this. Cooking is not hard to do. Men can cook, women can cook, kids can cook…just prod those who say they can’t cook and invite yourself to dinner at their house and prove it. Chicken Breasts and Wild Rice will turn anyone into a …” Oh, my God I just cooked that” freak. Spices can do wonders with a chicken breast and EVOO can too. (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) I could go on and on about this and write a goofy book on recipes and how to and how not too and too much of this can make an enormous pile of… Yak Dung but… me just stating the obvious. I once tried to make Goose into a stew… oh my word… let’s just say… something that spends it’s life wrapped in feathers does not like to be cooked fast and in a watery boil bath…ouch was that a learning experience. The girls refer that to the day we had Goose Jerky Soup. Thank god Pizza Hut delivered! So men can cook, and so Can women. Trust them and help them… just think…there will be those nights they might just surprise the crap out of you…
