Ok you want to resize an image Bigger or Smaller? Or specifically a Background Bigger or Smaller?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First I recommend using PIXresizer (FREE) @ http://download.cnet.com/PIXresizer/3000-12511_4-10607499.html?tag=mncol;1
Heres a few options explained:
**You can work with One single pic or Multiple (see the tabs on top)**
Load Picture - Load the saved file you chose (from like Photobucket or Google, etc -Make Sure its not copyrighted! Fubar Doesnt allow plaigarism!)
Custom Size - You can choose a variety of preset custom sizes (for Backgrounds ignore this)
**Where it says 600 x 450** - 600 refers to the Width AND 450 refers to the Height
Select File Format to SAVE FILE AS - You can choose the options to save the image as:
BMP
GIF - typically for animations (Gifs cannot be resized with this Software - they are multiple images put together and resized individually)
JPEG (JPG)
PNG
TIFF
IMAGE INFO: - refers to the specifics of the image loaded
Image Size, File Size, File Type, File Name
Heres what PIXresizer Software looks like once you have installed it and Run it for the firs time:
There are a few other options but for now ignore them - typically you will not be using them or needing them.
Load the Picture you want to resize that you saved from where you got it from. (Click Load Picture)
Ok we Loaded our Picture / IMG we had saved!
Notice where it says "Maintain Aspect Ratio" it is checked by default. We want a Custom Resized image. Uncheck the box "Maintain Aspect Ratio"
Ok notice I unchecked "Maintain Aspect Ratio" in order to have a custom resized image/picture.
Also (WIDTH x HEIGHT) I changed the Width to 1444 and the Height to 822. There is NO specific SIZE for Backgrounds or in general! Picture sizes depend on their original size as to how big you need to resize them (For Instance your resizing a Background Image for your lounge or for your Profile or Photo Album on Fubar there are NO specific set sizes you have to just keep trying to make sure the IMG does not REPEAT or so that it is NOT too small!
The next thing I need to do is to Save the Image with its new set Size:
Where it says 4. Save Picture (Click Save Picture button)
A Screen pops up asking where you want to save your newly resized image/photo (It even shows you the size you chose for the new Image/Picture to be
After you have Saved the Image we need to Upload it to get a "Direct Link" web address that will refer to where the image is hosted (kept safe for you) so that you can use it in your code for Lounges, Profile Skin, or Photo Skin, heck even your website!
I like to use http://tinypic.com/ or you can use http://imageshack.us/ or there are many others! **Remember I dont recommend using Photobucket for any background Pictures due to Photobucket automatically adding a default "border" around your saved Background image which WILL limit your resized photo. Just use the sites recommended.
Im going to use Tinypic's website:
Click Choose File then Find the image you resized SAVED on your PC and Click Open
Next you will simply click the UPLOAD NOW! button on the Tinypic website
A CAPTCHA pops up on this site (unless you made an account on TinyPic.com. Put the appropriate letters in the whitebox then Click UPLOAD NOW! -We are almost done!-
Ok if a screen Very similar pops up after the CAPTCHA then you uploaded your resized picture/image perfectly!
Do you see where it says Direct Link for Layouts that I circled? (http://i56.tinypic.com/2wltrug.jpg) - Direct Link code required to enter into the CSS code for Lounges, Profile Skins, Photo Albums, and more!
