May I ask you
But a simple question
Is there a reason
Such a person
Like me . . .
Why would you give your love
To someone like me
For if you could see me
Without the mask I wear
You would run in fear
I am no phantom
Playing an organ in a darkened basement
No . . .
His scars far underscore
My own
For my past still lays
Sprawn in a darkness so deep
That I cannot believe I could find
My way out
Would you still care
If I wasn’t there
Resting in your arms
And holding you tight
