Some of us while growing up
Did not have a lot of toys
Nor fancy clothes
But the one thing we had
Was love
Love surrounded us
And Family did too
That made up for
Any material things
We lacked
What the world needs now
Is more of that
More Families
Spending quality time
Together
Sharing laughing loving
Just being with
One Another
We need to be there
For our Children
Listen
To what they have to say
Love and guide them
Along life’s way
Parents are so busy
These days
Or so it seems
No time to spend
Just to listen to their
Kids
Material things
They give now instead
Of time and guidance
That is a shame to me
Material things
We can get later in life
When our kids are grown
And on their own
What the World needs now
Is more laughter
And less tears
More sharing
Less taking
More me
Less I
We need to come together
And be
One big happy family
The way
It used to be
Fancy cars
Diamonds rings
A mansion on the hill
Is not worth the price
We will pay
For the time we miss
With our kids
They grow up so quickly
And then they fly away
The nest will be empty
And your Heart will be broke
But
If you spent quality
Time with them
As they were growing
You will
Have wonderful memories
That you made with them
What the World needs now
Is more time
For our kids
They are our future leaders
And maybe
Our next President
We have to be there
To love and guide them
