Good Morning, wow that was some weekend and it actually started at 3:30 for me on Friday. The event was a couple’s best ball scramble. Which really turned out to be the guys against the guys other then Kate who was at least a 20 handicap and plays often. I would name more names but it would be a who’s who of names and the only names you might recognize would be Bonnie, Mandy and Jax who all had partners (I was Bonnie’s naturally) and all had fun other then Mandy who was doing terrible and like her dad wears her heart on her sleeve when he does bad. But we got her to smile and the match was a success. However, I did not turn out to be on the winning team and we were actually 8 stokes off the leaders which were Brian and Kate. There I go again naming names that you are not familiar with and I Mize-well have named Greta Garbo and Rock Hudson for that matter. We had 16 people (8 couples) in the event which all unanimously decided was to be a yearly event. So we named it the B & B Scramble (which stands for the Brinehl’s and Bell’s) The whole bunch came over to our house and I think there were pictures taken but for the life of me I have no clue who took them or who to ask for copies. I cooked hamburgers and each brought a dish to pass and bean bag, and hill-billy golf were the evening events along with a huge bon-fire which was a huge hit on a somewhat chilly evening. More couples attended that and the evening games but like I said it was a huge success. Saturday found me straitening up the yard from that event and getting ready for a family reunion on Bonnies side due to the fact her younger brother and his wife were up from Florida and they brought the mother-in-law….oh my God… that woman cackled like a chicken all day long… I am truly thankful Bonnies mom doesn’t cackle. I can take cackling but only for a while before it turns into a piercing red hot nail through my temples… I admire Bonnies brothers tenacity and strength carting that woman all the way up from Sarasota, Florida and without ramming himself and her into an oncoming Mack-Truck… They must have given her tranquilizers… The reunion finding me cooking once again and this time two full pork loins which turned out wonderful and I had numerous requests for the recipe…The two lions looked about 15 inches in length and I sliced them in inch wide servings which were out of this world. I also did 10 chicken breasts and those did not last either… The event was long…I imagine it would have been a different story had it been my family and not the in-laws…but oh…my…god…I have said numerous times I hoped to have grandchildren before I make the front door of a nursing home…The Jury is still out on that request…The nieces and Nephews brought their little darlings…I think the total was 10 children ranging from 3 to 8…no matter how hard you beat them down another pops right up…but, seriously those kids were untamed banshees that gave our mild mannered frogs, kittens and mans best friend Lizard heart attacks… I often took Liz off and tried to explain to her in my best doggy accent if she drug one of them off ever so often sooner or later piece would rain over the homestead. She took the punishment and did not take one down much to my disliking… so grandkids and my wishing for said item will be on hiatus… Sunday evening found the four of us Bonn, Jax, Manderoo and myself graveling over which kid was the worse and bringing back memories of themselves at that age saying they never did half the things that the cousin banshees (I mean children) have done in one day…So back to work…thank the maker…I need a rest from the grill, little ones and piece and quiet and other then the report printer spitting out the morning reports all I hear is keystrokes…and that sound my friend is glorious to be heard. I think if I heard Uncle Marty can you get the golf balls out of the tree for me one more time… Let me tell you this, before the next meeting of the banshee’s anonymous society I am training Liz how to snatch and grab and where to hide the evidence…
