Here is a poem/letter that was supposed to go out to or sent to all Service troops around the holidays(ok x-mas) written by a friend of mine and Lizzard's(David), Thomas Burke, this friend wrote.
WITH HONOR
With honor you have served during peacetime and at war.
both here at home and on distant foreign shores. You fought in many battles
long before my time. You're fighting now and still may be after
I have died.
I've heard the stories about the jungles of Nam, where you went through hell on earth. I watched you crossing desert sands,
wishing you weren't there and for your quick and safe return I
bowed my head in prayer.
I feel blessed to have been born in a land as great as this.
Where I have freedom to believe, and choose how I should live.
This freedom I enjoy was bought for me by others, it wasn't
cheap,it cost the lives of many sons and daughters.
The sacrifice and courage that made our country free, still lives in you, is a noble cause, and keeps us free today. I would
proudly stand beside you in defense of this great land; thank you
for the heroes you are, and gladly shake your hand.
