Just wanted to say THANKS to all my Family & Friends for showing me love on my Birthday!

Update to all my Friends

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've been very busy lately w/ my kids football & cheerleading, going to appointments, & taking care of my house, etc. that I barely have time to myself. Plus the new school year is getting ready to start and I'm trying to get the kids back on schedule. Of course I'm excited for them to go back..lol, but at the same time a little sadden as my youngest will be starting school for the 1st time. But I'll try my best to check in from time 2 time and will return all love.

The Doll and the Rose

The Doll and the Rose I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back. The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, "I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll." Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: "Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?" The old lady replied: " You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear." Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand as she left quickly. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. "It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. "I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry." But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too. So I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister." My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall." Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me… "I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me." "I love my mommy and I wish she didn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister." Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. "Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?" "OK" he said. "I hope I do have enough. "I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money." The little boy said: "Thank you God for giving me enough money!" Then he looked at me and added, "Last night I asked God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister and he heard me!" "I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose." "My mommy loves white roses." A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place teary-eyed feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is to this day is hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him. Now you have 2 choices: 1) Repost this message. OR 2) Ignore it as if it never touched your heart. With all the hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms, along with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks… Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance? For those who prefer to think that God is not watching over us....go ahead and delete this. For the rest of us.…..PLEASE PASS THIS ON! A lack of effort will always cause failure!

Summary of Life

Summary of Life GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED: 1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats. 2) When your Mum is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair. 3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person. 4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato. 5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food. 6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair. 7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time. 8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk. 9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts. 10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap. GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED: 1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree. 2) Wrinkles don't hurt. 3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts. 4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground. 5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside. 6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy. GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD 1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional. 2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get. 3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there. 4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster. 5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions. 6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician. 7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone. THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE: 1) You believe in Santa Claus. 2) You don't believe in Santa Claus. 3) You are Santa Claus. 4) You look like Santa Claus. SUCCESS: At age 4 success is . . . not piddling in your pants. At age 12 success is . . . having friends. At age 17 success is . . having a drivers license. At age 35 success is . having money. At age 50 success is . . having money. At age 70 success is . .. . having a drivers license. At age 75 success is . . . having friends. At age 80 success is . . . not piddling in your pants. Pass this on to someone who could use a laugh. Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way; BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day. Have a wonderful day with many *smiles* Take the time to live!!! Life is too short. Dance naked.

Obituary

Obituary Common Sense Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their spoiled and self-important children. It declined even further when schools were required to get written parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a Band-Aid to student s, but were restricted from informing parents when their child became pregnant and skipped class to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses, schools were forbidden to fail students who couldn't read and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a severe beating when home owners were forbidden from using force against an attacker in their own home but the burglar was legally allowed to sue a home owner if he was injured on their property during the commission of the crime. Common Sense finally died after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was actually hot and, when spilled in her lap while she was trying to drink and drive at the same time, was burned and promptly awarded a huge financial settlement in court Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

AUTO ACCIDENT

Recently my husband (Tony), my 2 daughters (Sierra & Peyton), and I were involved in a auto accident which occurred on 1/8/08. The other driver was at fault & was cited for "failure to yield on left turn". The accident happened so fast that we could not avoid it. Due to the accident our vechile has took a total loss in value. It is only driveable during the day as it has took damage to the front end affecting the...headlights, has no heat, the frame (bent), and it is missing the front passenger side fender. The accident has really hurt us not only physically, but emotionally as well. It has also been draining on us w/ money. We have been under alot of stress dealing w/ the Insurance company and everything else in regards to kids, school, housework, bills, etc., that we barely have time for ourselves to rest. We ask everyone to please be patient with us while we try to feel better and recooperate from our injuries. Thanks, Shelly
