Horseplayn's blog: "Do You Hate Christians???"

okay, here's what I believe in: ~ the Golden Rule ~ Kindness and Equality (to those who extend the same!) ~ Free Will (INCLUDING freedom of thought!) THESE are the tenets of the Christian faith, no matter how far the zealots have strayed from the basics. I dont think ANYONE has a problem with these few principles! In fact, these are what the liberals cry for each time they open their collective mouth! BUT..........here's the part where people start to squirm, eventually leading to protest: ~ crime and punishments ~ nucleic family values ~ morality based upon decency (and the right to be offended by what we view as INdecent!) **** and here folks is the kicker>>>>>>> ~~ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES OF SIN!!!!!! but WAIT!!! isn't it logical that if we do-away with the definition of sin, then we can no longer be held accountable for it??? WHAT A CONCEPT!!!!!!!! My concept, plain and simple, is this: If there is nothing after this, and we do not set ourselves upon a greater goal, THEN WHAT THE LIVING HELL ARE WE DOING HERE????? WHAT'S THE POINT????? You can continue to live your life away, waitng to die and be gone forever, if you like. I wont begrudge you that. But as for me, I need to know that something comes after this, that eventually makes the pain worthwhile. If you choose to hate me for that, then who is REALLY the close-minded individual, in this case???

It seems to me that everyone who hates Christians, does so because they are "close-minded", and "intolerant hate mongers". This makes me laugh, but makes me sad at the same moment. I consider myself a Christian. I was raised in the Christian faith (Pentacostal, to be exact, yes "the weirdos who dance and speak jibberish in church"!!), and I have tied to live by the true Christ-given principles throughout my adult life. Even if you do not accept Christ as The Son of God, or even accept God Himself, you cannot argue that a man walked this Earth approximately 2000 years ago, and wandered the known world preaching love and goodwill towards your fellow man. Some folks follow Martin Luther King Jr.s teachings, some follow Farrukahn (sp?). Some people follow Buddha, and some people even derive their spritual inspiration from nature. All of these seem like perfectly good plans, to the folks who are practicing them. Well, being a Christian has worked fairly well for me in my lifetime, therefore I will continue to claim said faith. (NOTICE I USED THE WORD "FAITH", NOT "RELIGION". This will be explained in a future mumm!) I dont stand in front of abortion clinics, and chances are that I will NEVER be seen at your front door carrying a Bible and cute little comic books about the Bible! I will never try to force feed my beliefs to anyone, because history has shown me that you catch more flies with honey...... Christianity to me, at base level, is about living out the Golden Rule, and trying to be as Christ-like as possible. I will never treat you in any fashion other than the way I expect to be treated. This is what Christ believed in, and so do I!
