Dallas Cowboys Distracted?

So I heard a little rumor about a distraction in Dallas. Something about a player and his off the field incident distracting the Cowboys as they prepared for a game against the Titans. I think rumor is an understatement more like a bunch of made up fiction from sports writers and reporters who granted are not known for always reporting the facts. Case in point the reporters that of five major league baseball players use of steroids and illegal performance-enhancing drugs publicly after a statement made by Jason Grimsley. Now the federal prosecutor overseeing the investigation says the report has significant inaccuracies. Go figure somehow I doubt they will have a breaking report to report the information they just recieved saying they screwed up once again and slandered players names for no reason other than they wanted a juicey story to report on. The Cowboys despite the so called distractions were able to win impressively over the Titans 45 to 14. OK, granted, the Titans are not a powerhouse team this year going 0 and 4 so far but, to put up the numbers like Dallas did against any professional team is impressive. Now the distractions just have to continue right? I mean this is Dallas, and if there isn’t a legitimate distraction the sports reporting world with all of its insight will just make one up. So this week it will be the return of T.O. to Philadelphia for Sunday’s game against the Eagles. Again this will only be a distraction to those who report on it and not the players. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the Eagle’s team site. They have a poll asking What is your focus Vs. Dallas? The choices are: 1. I want T.O. hit hard , 2. Scoring vs. aggressive defense, 3. All I care about is a win, 4. Mostly T.O. but a win also, 5. Reaching Bledsoe, and 6. The Dallas offense is very tough. So what’s on the minds of the Eagle fans? So far 60.5% have voted for 3. All I care about is a win. Wow that is the same things the players on both teams are saying as well as the fans in Dallas. Amazing huh? Just a closing thought. I encourage all of you to contact the reporters that just continue to make exaggerated claims and reports that many times have no foundation to them at all and can lead to serious issues not only for the athlete mentioned but also his family. You can find an e-mail address, phone number, or at least a mailing address on almost any reporter. Whatever media source they work for usually will have a web site where you can find this information. Let the reporter know exactly what you thought about their article or report. Then make sure the magazine, news paper, radio or TV stations know also. Maybe we can get them to stick more to the facts and less to hype and rumors. If not at least you can have fun tossing some darts their way for a change.
