Does anyone care anymore?

Lt/Gen John Peter Flynn passed away on March 6, 1997 at the Army Retirement Center in San Antonio, Texas. Known as "Sky" while a POW in North Vietnam, he was the Senior Ranking Officer of all the POWs. He cared about his country, his men and his honor. General Flynn believed that American POWs were left behind after cessation of hostilities in Vietnam and he based that belief on information he learned as a member of the Tighe Commission. A man of honor and of great personal courage, he held his beliefs to the end and never faltered in his resolve to obtain a full and accurate accounting. He will be missed, but the fight must go on to get the answers from the governments of the US, Vietnam, Kampuchea (Cambodia), Laos, China, Cuba and the former Soviet Union. WE CAN GET THE ANSWERS IF WE ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS! Every day, the president, vice-president, senators, congressional representatives and a variety of appointed government officials are asked to respond to questions about government projects and programs. In all but the most extraordinary cases, the inquiry is passed on to aides and assistants who have little choice but to respond with prepared stock answers. If you ask one of them what they are doing about the POW/MIA issue, they will tell you: "Everything we can." Then they go back to the business of perpetuating the bureaucracy. However, there is a better and more effective way to get their attention. Ask a more direct question that demands more than the expedient but lame, stock response. Example: Dear Senator, What is being done to determine the fate of Sfc Daniel R Phillips-USASF, who was last seen fighting his way through the perimeter during the siege of LangVei on 2/7/68? No remains were ever found although there was an intensive search of the area later on, and no one saw him fall. There is no evidence that he was killed and he is known to have been capable of surviving under harsh conditions. Please advise me of any action that is being taken by you or any other elected or appointed official to determine his fate. In the event there is nothing being done, please explain why not, and tell me how you, personally, plan to correct this and prevent it from ever happening again. With a question that detailed, they can't get away with the old stock answers. And in researching those answers, they may come to realize what a large segment of the Veteran Brotherhood has known for years...That we abandoned "Loyal American Citizens" in Southeast Asia, and that many of them could still be alive in captivity today! Let's get those answers which are owed to the families, friends and ourselves. Just fill out this simple form and we will email you with the name, history and date of loss for a specific POW/MIA so you can ask your elected representatives in Washington some specific questions. Lets do this right and get our missing heroes home! Adoption Form After you receive your information about the POW/MIA(s) you are adopting, make a remembrance page for them. We have many donated graphics and sound files available as well as a fairly comprehensive "how-to" guide to assist those of you who are new to page building. Click on the link at the bottom of the page. It will take you to our main menu. We also offer membership in the OJC ring. This isn't for everyone though. There are guidelines that must be followed. If you are interested, check it out before you make a remembrance page: OJC Ring If you already have your page(s) built, you can still join. You may just need to make a few changes. Initial biographical and loss information on POW/MIAs provided by Operation Just Cause has been supplied by Chuck and Mary Schantag of POWNetwork. Biographical information is also supplied via Scope Systems, Task Force Omega, and others. =-=

NEW YEAR 2007

We feel it at the end of every year It has gone by so fast and a new one is near Reflecting over the last twelve months The highs, the lows, the loses, and the gains All the smiles and the heart wrenching pains The points we have earned From our mistakes we hope we have learned Where not to stumble and where not to get burned People who have entered our lives And the ones who may have caused us strife Has taught us forgiveness is the key of life Blessings are the others who have become our friends Who stood by us through thick and through thin Will hopefully stay with us till the very end Loved ones who have left this earth We reminisce the memories of their mirth The tears we shed as their life departs Are now heavenly spirits warming our hearts As the New Year encroaches we begin to approach Our new resolve to improve our existence Has now encompassed every thing in our presence The knowledge of the past and our close friends at our sides We shall go on and march forward with those weapons in hand All of which will arm us against the foes of the land Let’s share the excitement as the next adventure unfolds With all the what ifs and all the untolds Put your hand in mine and together let us venture forth Mutually brave this new start with all our hearts For this is another beginning and life is worth the winning Put behind us all our fears And together let us celebrate in this Happy New Year!

Love On The Internet

by Dove Though I wasn't looking for anyone new, One day I got e- mail and in it was you. Charming, sensitive and so debonair, I strongly resisted it go anywhere. But letters and stories captured my heart, Filled me with passion almost from the start. Love on the Internet, how could it be? These things just don't happen to people like me. But doves and butterflies flew into our lives, Carrying messages we could not deny. Each person has meaning and love to express, And we could deny our hearts nothing less. It's a beautiful love that has grown between us, Something beyond any words we discuss. Much deeper than LOL, cyber kisses and such, Far down to our souls, beyond human touch. My love's not confined by what it can see, I feel you, I taste you, I experience your dream. Close my eyes, and I envision what in my heart I can hear, "Love knows no boundaries, no distance, no fear." It's the soul that captures God's love in a way That eternally melts hearts together to stay. Fused and sealed forever as one, Love has its way and new life is begun.

At Random

It was at random that we met, A chance that not many get. When I heard the "Uh Oh", How was I to know! That you would turn out to be my special friend, Someone who could be there, Until the end. No matter how I feel or what I do, I know, in my heart, That I can count on you. I've never seen you, Heard you, or touched you. Those kind of chances are very few. To meet someone from far away, Never knowing if they're here to stay, Not knowing if what they say is true, Of what they're doing and telling you. So far away, but yet so near, The "not knowing" is the fear. Is it truth, or is it lies? Will a heart grow, or will it die? Either way, the bonds of Friendship's strings are tied. One's needs are met, Some with regret. Some with hope, Some with pain. But still, the answer is plain. If we hadn't met, On that very day, Things would be different In every way. The emptiness may be filled, A life may start to rebuild. A heart may be broken, Or made to mend; All because of that "Random Friend". by Cheeky
