Good Morning and Happy Fall! Wooohoo fall is sticking it’s neck out there just far enough as if to say…I smell cold temperatures on the Horizon. Brrr that time of year for chili and soups. You know today on MSN’s little web site home page there are plenty of things to bash, I mean Parish Hilton is yet once more a topic of conversation for one writer, but more so many things just swirled around in my head on some of the head lines and feet lines (feet lines is a Marty Term for stinky stuff no one cares to see) that I found a little nugget hidden in the mix called. “COMFORT FOOD” oh yeah! Comfort food, Ma Bell bless her sole used to make what my dad called a baked dinner. It was simple to say the least and was nothing more then Scalloped Potatoes, Baked Beans and Macaroni and Cheese. Ok sounds simple enough and major belly stuffing can be had. Oh yeah and it was not a box Mac and Cheese thank you very much it was a grate the cheddar and slam it together with Real Butter and Whole Milk. Oh yeah Cholesterol Central! But it was good other then the Gas passing afterwards…whew I could have done without that comment…Girls don’t fart right? Ok…what ever! So that was the Bell Household Comfort Food. Now days in this Bell’s house the kids just love when I do a rendition of Granny Bell’s Home Made Mac and Cheese but, our comfort food between Bonn’s and myself is more so a Chili and Cornbread or Homemade Chicken soup, Ever so often a dish Bonnie likes to call Noodles and Hamburger which is basically a spin off of Hamburger Helper with Mushroom soup and Burger. Comfort foods to some are nothing more then a handful of Oreo’s and a Glass of Milk. To each their own. I know some families do a Pot Roast and Potatoes while others Spaghetti and Meatballs theme with Garlic bread to sop up the excess sauce. You know it really doesn’t matter which is ones comfort food as long as it makes you feel all warm and cozy. Oh, I almost forgot I was on my way to bash the writers pick on one said comfort food on the MSN site… Now it is known I like all foods and have a bit a problem fighting down Pickled Herron other then that whip it at me I can do it… but this one food or dish the writer came up with and I know in today’s world we have serious amounts of Vegetarians and I have no problems with them and hope they do not with me. I mean for those who say killing a deer is just inhuman and how can you eat Pheasant and Duck ewwww you barbarian…. Hey same thing goes for you ripping the Carrot out of the ground by it’s hair in that case!...LOL I am kidding I have no Beef with Vegetarians… get it? I have no beef… ok bad joke, but this one dish this writer spoke of just made the hair on my… well it curled my toes lets just say… here is that appetizingly unpleasant sounding dish… Spaghetti with Beets and Greens … Stick a fork in me but that just doesn’t sound good… Ma Bell would be turning over in her grave had she heard me say that sounds better then her ole fashion Spaghetti and Meatballs. But again to each their own… and I like beets and Greens are ok slathered with Bacon and Garlic… but with Spaghetti Noodles…Yuck get behind thee Satan… That is the devils dish for sure…
Other then that May your Comfort Food selection be that of a comforting dish to you and yours….
