So I have made to attempt to hide my dislike for the Christmas season, hell I STILL haven't even put up a Christmas tree even though my 9 year old won't shut up about it. Well, I broke down and wrapped a few Christmas presents for tomorrow night which include my 4 nieces.
Now 3 of my nieces I adore and can stand to be around without wanting to strangle or duct tape and throw in a closet. My fourth niece however is a HUGE brat who gets anything she wants, gets by with everything and never does anything even remotely wrong in the eyes of her mother, father and grandparents.
Last Sunday she was visiting her grandmother (my mother-in-law) and she was in full on brat mode. She was starting fights with my daughters, jerking things from their hands and back talking me and her uncle. I told her fine, I would just give her present to her sister. She said "You will not" and kicked me in my shin.
So today I wrapped the little shit's present and had a wonderful idea for a little payback. (Yeah it's petty on my part but fuck you, I'm a petty bitch.) I bought her a fabric pocketbook that comes with markers you can color and design to your personal liking. I rolled it up really small, put it inside a small desk lamp box, stuffed it with paper, plastic bags and torn up wrapping paper. Then I taped the outside of the box every way possible with blue painter's tape then wrapped it with extra clear tape. I also put a little "disclaimer" note on it reading : The only way you can keep what's inside this present is if you and ONLY you open it. Love Aunt Katie Remember, YOU AND ONLY YOU.
It has been the only thing that has given me the Christmas spirit. I hope the story of how I'll be labeled the meanest aunt ever for a while makes you smile.
