Interests
I have many interests. Obviously I love Harleys as if you couldn't tell.....lol
I have a lot of other interests as well....the lists is long, but I will try to consolidate it so as not to bore you.
Music has always been a big part of my life, I can't live without it. I love Classic Rock, but I like a lot of other genres also. Can't deal with the scream head banger stuff though.....
I Love nature....The mountains, the beaches, the woods, sunrises, sunsets, birds, and wildlife. I like to hike on woody trails, or in the mountains. I love waterfalls.
I love getting my face in the wind on a Harley and smelling the fresh air, or that of the trees....there is just nothing like it.
I love old classic cars and Victorian homes..... both have so much character, and are built by true craftsman with so much pride in their work.
I also appreciate interior design, exterior design, landscapes, hardscapes, and beautiful flowers.
I Love to shoot pool and throw the darts. I started shooting pool when I was about 15 years old and found that I had a pretty good eye for it. So, I shot pool every day for hours, had some pretty good teachers and practiced and practiced the bank shots, slices and the English on the cue ball until I could make the shot about 80-90% of the time. That was when I started running tables and gambling. I have to admit I was really good. Then I was asked to join the leagues by the pool league director as his partner. I played for two leagues a week for a few years......a women's league in which I was chosen to be the team captain, and a mixed couples league. I have 4 top shooter of the league plaques and more than a dozen 1st place trophies. But that all comes with 35 years experience and a whole lot of practice. People who didn't have my experience started asking me to teach them how to shoot. Now I'm not a Fats Domino by any means....I just loved the game and had a lot of fun with it, and made a lot of money off of the game. I had an old Mali worth about $1,100.00 at the time, and I took really good care of it, always cleaning it. I had all of the accessories to replace my tips, remove any nicks, my own chalk etc. Then one day I took my eyes off of it for a short time and someone stole it from me. I had it in the case, left it on the table we were at, to go buy a drink for my friend and myself, when I turned around it was gone. I was crushed. It sort of broke my spirit in a way. I have other cue sticks, but that one was my favorite. It was a well balanced stick. I used to balance it on top of my head looking like a unicorn and walk around with it on top of my head and then turn around with it still balanced on my head and walk back just because I could....LOL
After my stick got stolen, I played some, but I didn't play much anymore for a few reasons..... I kinda lost interest in the game, house sticks are ok, but they are so dirty that they don't slide without using chalk, (I had a glove) and they usually are warped, plus I had 3 broken ribs, and it is really quite painful to lean over a table to make a shot. Took about 6 months for my ribs to heal. Bummer!!!
Not to mention, my eyesight started failing somewhat after I hit my 40s, and I was too vain to wear glasses while shooting pool.
I still shoot Pool from time to time (wearing glasses now) and I still shoot a pretty good game. I just don't play as frequently as I did.
I love intelligent conversation with friends, and I like to read. Sidney Sheldon, John Grisham, and Harrold Robbins are among my favorite fictional authors.
I also like to read true crime. Sorry that the crime happened in the first place, but Ann Rule among other true crime authors have a way of putting things into perspective.
I also enjoy How - to Books.
I usually have a book in my backpack, and one in my bedroom....as I usually have the concentration to read more than one book at a time.
Well I think that I have gone on long enough about me, and my interests, perhaps you will find something in here that intrigues you and you will share something of yourself with me. I look forward to it.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile.....now you know that there is a lot more to me than just Harleys!!
