For those of you who don't know me, and don't find it obvious, I don't really have these views about women, men, white people, and minoraties. The question at the end, is supposed to indicate that. It's asking if I really understand how society is, or how it thinks.
In english we were talking about race, and stuff having to do with it. It's a class full of all white people. Last week it was about gender roles. So, there's these people who think you need to act according to a specific set of rules, depending on how you were born. If you are a woman, you best act like one. Like, uh get in the kitchen and make me a pie bitch. If you are man, act like a man. That means be aggressive, insensitive, no crying, go kill something eat some red meat, and take a shot of moonshine without chaser nor flinching. It gets more interesting. If you are white, act like it. Don't listen to rap music, don't talk in Eubonics, don't listen to Mexican music, don't talk in Spanish or use any un-white slang.
The exceptions to these rules, are acting like the powerfull majorady. If you are a woman, it's somewhat ok to take on some aggressive behavior, wear pants, be insensitive, and do what you need to, inorder to adapt the white male dominated business world. If you are not white, and take on several white, especially white male characteristics, then you will not receive much grief. You certainly won't receive much grief from the powerfull majoraty, the white male. So basicly it's ok for people who aren't male, and aren't white to take on characteristics of a white male.
Any sign of not acting like the powerfull majoraty " taints " you. If men act like women, it's not usually seen as a kind of powerfull, or even adaptive trait to most. It discredits them, they lose respect, it basically devalues them as a human being. Why? Well, it points to that we don't really value women, or especially not as much as men. They are really just lesser beings to look pretty, make food, clean the house, and " put out ". ( these obviously aren't really my views, incase you didn't catch the sarcasm or whatever. )
It goes the same way if white people act anything other than white. " We " expect white people to act a certain way, and if they " act " black" " then they are somehow tainted, or there is something " wrong " with them. Or if they act any non-white sort of thing at all, then they are tainted. It's just somehow not acceptable. This doesn't say directly, but points to- white people are basically better than other people. We can " forgive " other people for not acting white, but we can't " forgive " white people for not acting white. Other people have that " excuse " because they just aren't as good as white people. It's just not their fault they can't be as good. But white people should know not to " degrade " themselves by acting like any other race or culture than their " own " superior one.
Basically the the conclusion is- Males are superior to females. White people, and white culture is superior than all the other cultures. White males are the superior beings on earth. It's ok for people who aren't as fortunate enough to be white males to try to live " up " to our " standards " and ways of life. It's an admirable aspiration. However, it's not ok for any white male to demean themselves by acting like anything other than the shovinist, racist, pig, I mean white male that he is. It's only admirable for other people to mimic white males, but not so for white males to mimic other beings.
Do I understand this right?
