Music
Way too much to really list... Metal, Rock, Country, Techno, EBM, Blues, Progressive, Industrial... Anything that isn't rap or pop, really (there are SOME exceptions).
Few fave bands/singers in no real order (this isn't even the tip of the iceberg, but its a good framework):
Rammstein, Oomph!, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Placebo, Faith No More, the Cult, Stone Sour, Mushroomhead, Alice Cooper, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Johnny Cash, Susan Tedeschi, Enigma, She Wants Revenge, CruxShadows, Sarah Brightman, Frank Sinatra, Conway Twitty, Live, Seal, Prince, Samael, Moonspell, Tiamat, Type O Negative, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Trace Adkins, Travis Tritt, Everlast, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Deadmau5, Scooter, DJ Venom, Darude, Tiesto, Sybreed. Dead Letter Circus, Nightwish, Arch Enemy, Within Temptation, Thy Will Be Done
Movies
Boondock Saints, REPO!: the Genetic Opera, Rocky Horror, Mirror Mask, Sin City, Anything by Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, or Mel Brooks, anything from the Hellraiser series, Queen of the Damned, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (this one has been known to make me cry like a little girl), What Dreams May Come (ditto), Identity, Bunraku, Mulholland Drive, Interview with a Vampire, Tank Girl, the Doors. Walk the Line, Ray, V for Vendetta, Dark City, The Illusionist. the Prestige, The Wall (yes, the Pink Floyd one...), Dark Side of the Rainbow (yes, the OTHER Pink Floyd one...) Really, the best short answer for this is "Anything that has gained a cult following." or "Anything that melts your brain into a delicious gelatinous goo..." I also have a weakness for good anime movies like AKIRA, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, or anything from Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli and Japanese 'westerns' like Shogun Assassin, Sukiyaki Western Django, any Zatoichi movie, or 13 Assassins
