I am the part of every person (with the exception of psychopaths) that tells you right from wrong. I exist to protect you. At the very least my job is to keep you from getting killed. I'm not your parents, the cops or any authority figures. Sadly people usually miss this. Think of me as an alarm system to your car or home. Or better yet think of me as an electrical outlet. If you stick your finger in a light socket, the shock isn't the light socket punishing you.
