Here is a letter I found who was written to Obama by a US Marine... It is a must read LOL. I'm sorry. These are legitimate questions and concerns. Granted they are addressed in a sarcastic and smart ass way in this letter, but still legitimate...
Dear President Obama,
Congratulations on the Presidency. Please don't treat it like a Prom Queen elected and then we never hear about thing’s getting done. Yes, I know our country is a little down right now. Lots of people blame it on Bush, but funny as it seems Congress is really a majority of Jackasses. (I'm sorry Democrats) Anyway, I just wanted to ask you a few questions before you get to work on building this fabulous country you have in mind.
First off, I know you plan to move our troops out of Iraq and relocate them to Al Qaeda and Afghanistan. You say we are spending to much money in Iraq, but wont we be spending just as much in Al Qaeda and Afghanistan? I know your not from a military background, family or serving our country yourself, but I have many friends who have been over there, are over there now and one who is still recovering for fighting for what is right over there. These men have come back knowing that they made a difference over there, and wanting to go back, even though their life may of been on the line.
What will you say to those men and women who have fought for you, when you pull them out at this stage of the game and they see all their hard work go down the drain? What do you say to the mother and children who lost their daddy over there when you pull out the troops and all hell breaks lose again? They know that their Husband and daddy died for a good cause, but if that good cause goes down the drain because you pulled out the troops, then what do you say to them?
Next I would like to touch on the immigration issue. I know you say that you would do more to help the families of illegal immigrants come over to the United States so that they could be together. How sweet of you. I know one day when I put my child in school, I can count on your decision on this issue to slow down my child’s learning you know, because of the no child left behind, if you bring all of these children over here, they have to go to school. I guess my question is how do you expect the teachers that are not bilingual to teach everyone you are putting in these classrooms? Surely you are not suggesting segregation so that the kids who don't speak English can learn too in a special class?
My next concern with this issue is the health care for all these people you want to bring over here to be with their families. How are you going to afford to cover health care cost for all these people? Especially when you want to cut the cost of taxes for the middle class by 3 times? I will be quiet impressed with this one if you can pull it off. On the other hand, when I go into the Hospital for a broken bone or a serious injury, I really don’t wanna have to wait for an open bed because Juan has a runny nose and can't go to a regular doctor. That’s just a pain in whatever I broke, but I do think it is nice of you to want to offer free health care to all these people. I'll be happy to see that money being taken out of my paycheck every week and knowing that someone who doesn't want to work out there, or doesn't pay taxes will enjoy a free ride at my expense.
Next I would just like to say that I really can't wait to become a senior citizen one day. If your plan is still in effect then that is. I really would love to live tax free. 7 Million Senior citizens really is to many to be paying taxes, after all, we really don't need that tax money anyways.
We have you to come up with creative solutions for making up the difference in this right President Obama?
Oh, and just to touch on the military issue one more time. Your website says that you vote for providing our military with body armor and armored vehicles. Now like I said before, I know you don't have any military experience at all. But umm... yeah, those things have been around for a while. Just a lil FYI, 'cause I don't want you to look foolish when you try to present this issue.
I guess that is all the questions that I had for you, President Obama. I will be truly impressed when you find a way to keep all these promises that you have made to the American people. But until then, I question what you can actually do to help our country.
