My wife and i have been taking care of my mom who has 1st stage alzheimer's now for about 3 yrs now. I have actually been here 6 yrs taking care of her before my wife and i got together. We have put our lives on hold to do for her and take care of her. About 3 1/2 weeks ago, my wife and i went to her mom's house to pick up our 7 yr. old daughter who had been staying there for a week at her grandma's house. When we got home my mom had called a friend of hers that she had not seen or talked to in over 2 yrs. and this friend and friends boyfriend came and got my mom saying that she was going to spend the night with them. Next day we find out that she is not going to come home saying that we abused her and took advantage of her and all these other wild accusations. Mind you we have home health people coming into this house 3-4 times a week taking care of her and my wife, so there was no abuse going on or else they would have been required by law to report it. But anyway, she took the car away (which she cannot drive because she doesnt have a license) but is in her name. She had all the utilities cut off, our phone cut off, cable and internet cut off. So we have been stuck in the house for over 2 weeks with no phone, no car, no internet to contact anyone. Well i have managed to get all this cut back on in my name now. So at least we can have contact with the outside world. Still no car but we are working on that. Plus we have to move here pretty quick because the house is being forclosed on.
I have not talked to my mom one time since she left. Except for when she came and got the car and she was yelling then.
Should I just write my mom off, or try to get through her "friends" and see whats really going on....if that is even possible. |
